Well, after relentless debate over the ol hoopty I suppose Im gonna brush the dust off off her, well the leaves, acorns, and pine needles actually. She's been worked on and stalled and repeat and parked and well down right neglected as it wasnt a daily driver anymore. Ive pretty much figured hell Im this far and she has never let me down so its time to pamper the bitch and get her back on track. The ol Hoopty is in route for 2 18s....I got the enclosure mapped out for it already etc. Im doing a pair of Evils...thats the mission for that even tho gear is a bit out. Ummmm Im aiming for the Punch Pros in the doors. I think I can do that hoping I dont have to mod the…

So I am posting this a part of the criteria of the Second Skin Audio Promotion give away. I would like to start by thanking Anthony from Second Skin as well as everyone at Second Skin!! Now onto the review.. Upon pick up of the deadner as soon as i grabbed the box I knew the deadner would be great. You could feel it in the wieght of the box itself lol..! Any how I tossed the box into the trunk and instantly popped open the box and was at a loss of words when i saw how nice the black backing looks on this stuff. As I pulled out a sheet I could already tell Damplifier Pro was a much better deadner than Dynamat Extreme wich i have used in the past. It is not only thicker bu…

Ok the box was started today, but had to be started later in the afternoon because the installer/builders friend was in a car accident at 3 am yesterday so I told him to take his time and when he feels ready to start on his time. So this is the progress so far. I will be getting one more gallon of resin and order a roll of 19 oz glass mat for the bracing. I am going above the window line as you all can see. I will be triple baffling the face and doubling the MDF all the way around. This thing is a beast. With one baffle the height is about 24 inches, the width is 48 inches and the length is 52 inches. Big as hell I know. lol so get ready this box is about to be beastly. I…

I picked up this car recently and wanted to toss in some equipment that I've had laying around BNIB for years. I don't know how much of it will fit or how to make it work but I'd like to use all of it if possible. This is all the same stuff I was going to install in the old Merc. That car didn't work out and was sold a few years ago. I'm going to attempt to install this myself again but was looking for pointers so I don't fuck anything up along the way. I've been looking at a few videos on how to take the interior apart etc. Not gonna go crazy like I did last time tho. I think when it gets here, I will start with the h/o alty and the big 3. I bought an alt from Mechm…

So, I guess I should finally put this on here. First things first, my car was a theft recovery I picked up from my dad's work (he works for a local body shop) for $450. It's a 2004 Ford Focus SE 2.3l dark blue. I don't really know why but I don't have a pic of the car? Anyway, what do you do with a focus with 200,000 mi? Make it run of course... Lol needed a fuel pump. Sitting for almost a year and it seized, oh well. After that you do this... 12" Fi bl on a Sundown 1500 v3. I then got rid of the factory speakers and installed some Alpine 5x7" in all four doors on a Hertz HCP4 After getting further into this site, I realized rears were unnecessary and swapped the Alpin…

Just built this a few days ago...havin some power issues so I can't put it in the car quite yet, but here's the build. Hopefully someone can help me out here... as you all know, the edges are easy to clamp down so they don't move while you are screwing them in, but how do you do the port...my port kept moving like this. What I had to do, was just glue it down, and Silicon it until it dried, THENNNN i tipped the box on its side and screwed it down, but this kinda defeats the point of the glue then.. any techniques you guys could give me?? Thanks. I used silicon II and resin on all the edges and corners..... somehow a few pieces of 1/2" MDF got in there... I ho…

This is the optimal design for the X Con 18. My BTL 18 is going to be going into it. I got the design from the site here, thanks SSA! I've still got a lot of sanding to do. I did all of this last weekend. I'll be finishing it up this weekend. I've still got a lot of wiring to do. I've got a 270 amp Mechman alternator to put in. I've got 50 foot of 1/0, which I'm hoping will be enough. I think I'm going to use my starting battery I've got, a Napa 70 series or something, I'll have to look at the specs and post if anyones interested. I've got a big Wal-Mart brand battery with dual terminals I'm going to put in the back. I'll probably eventually get some better batteries once…

  16. Mechman was kind enough to custom machine a case including powder coating (Mechman Orange) and build me this alternator since it's a rare request for a hyundai santa fe. They had it built from scratch and shipped inside of two weeks! Anyways, a good friend of mine is a certified master mechanic and has some time on the weekend, so he is going to install this for me. It's in a really tough spot IMO, bottom front corner of the engine bay, and believe me, it's stuffed in there. On to the Pictures!

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my new 2021 Mazda CX-5 6 speakers version (non-Bose). I was thinking about 6.5" Component at front and 6.5 Coxial/Mid Bass at the rear doors, connected to a 4 Channel Amp and JBL Basspro Hub at the spare tire ( I don't want to lose space at the boot). Now, it's a bit tricky to know which speakers will fit at the doors as I couldn't find any documentation of depth compatibility for the Mazda CX-5 online. Does anyone know ? Also, without knowing the exact size can you recommend any setup for a very clear & crisp sound without compromise ? originally I was thinking to go with: Front Component:JL Audio C2-650C / Hertz Mi…

i never posted this when i first installed it all over a year ago. originally it was supposed too stay small, but that went out the window. so i will just post some of the older photos first just too give an idea of what it was. in the pics i show only one of many different sub stage setups. the original idea was the pdx 1200rms amp that put out rated from 2 to 4 ohms, so i could run at least one of every type of sub i have as i please. this is my ride this was the equipment. this was the most common sub stage i used with the pdx amp, it is a passive setup, i would rotate from the sdx15 pictured, an eclipse 3hp ti, or a tc3000. and this below is were it stands as of n…

  24. Took advantage of some free time and the nice weather to get started on my box for the DLS sub. let's get some wood cut eh? pieces all cut out and ready for assembly one more piece to go! ready to start marking and cutting out the hole for the flared port opening. the port on the inside. excuse the huge glare from the sun :\ covering the mounting area so the spray won't get on it. a peek inside through the port opening. lots of clearance between the motor and port tune. done! it's 1.62 cubic feet ported and tuned to 35Hz. i haven't installed it into the car yet...ran out of daylight and the mosquitos are out in full force. i'll get it into the car as s…
