Wished I had taken pics of during the construction of the box, but I didn't have my camera on hand. But it's your plain sealed box. Internal volume of .75 cu ft net. Hertz called for an insanely small .57 cubes sealed, but I was afraid the bottom octaves won't be as pronounced. So I ended up going with .75 cu ft. First some pics of the new sub for those who haven't seen it in my other thread. It's a Hertz Audio Hi-Energy 12. pretty nice and simple cone with the Hertz logo on the dustcap. bright ass orange magnet rubber boot. It's pretty simple looking....no huge surround or massive motor structure. This thing is tiny compared to my Brahma MKI 12. Flush mounted.…

Here is the build log of the setup in my Lincoln LS. Everything was done at Audio Advisors in West Palm Beach, Fl. Been dealing with them for about 10 years now. This is the third vehicle I've done with them. Big thanks to JC, Tom Mangs and Bob Mercer for eveything. How she was at birth, at the dealership. First part of the make over begining at Audio Advisors. Bob begining work The factory head unit Now with the Alpine IVA-W205. They fabricated the trim panel in house. Not sure what kit they used to hold the double din. I didn't purchase one, so I'm assuming they made something to hold it in place iPod interface cable running under the center console, exiting inside …

Ok, so it's not exactly a build log (and not sure if this is the right place) because I just don't get around to taking pictures when I'm working, but I thought I'd at least post a couple pictures and a list of what I have, as well as a brief review of the products I used. So what we have here is a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T AWD. Yeah, it's got a Hemi. It's pretty loaded with nav and heated seats and some other goodies. With the navigation system comes a Boston 6 speaker system, which honestly is not too bad, decent midbass/midrange, bass isn't bad, highs are a little weak. I kept the factory head unit in place. The factory nav system is a 6 disc mp3 changer and actually a pre…

Ok so finally the build is on! My car has been in the shop for two months getting an engine swap(95 2.2 n/a in a 91). So anyway this is my first time every logging a car stereo build. I'm not new to forums but I am new to this car audio forum. Here's a shot of the parts: I've already started removing the dash and old Eclipse HU that was in the car. Supposibly the kid I bought the car from bought the car from a car stereo installer. I can confirm that by the very nice previous install of the HU. All twisted wiring cut to length. Here's a shot: This is what it looks like under the hood: Ok back to it...more to follow...! MR2

  10. Well I've had enough of working my life away building cool shit for other people. I scooped up a 1980 Caddy CoupeDeville about a week ago and will be putting a basic hydraulic set up in it. I'll also be using all the various audio gear that I have been storing in the basement for the last 3 years to put a decent system together for it also. I know the gear isn't high end stuff but I bought it before learning about companies like Fi and Sundown. Hey I did by it all at clearance prices at least so I'm going to run with it. Heres what I have planned for gear as of now. JVC head unit. (8) Infinity Kappa 3 way coaxs. May only run 4 depending on room. (4) 10" Infinity Kappa per…

My next build will consist of two 12bl's fully loaded and an AQ2200d. The box will be ported and built to specs. Now the only problem im going facing is that when running 2200WRMS, do you have to upgrade your alternator? or will you be fine with the xs 3100d? I will only play my system 3/4 of the way up for about 10min every day. Big 3 upgrade is already done.

I built a ported box for my rlp-12. It's 2.2 cubes tuned to whatever it is. The port is 34 inches long and goes from 1.5 inches at the start to 3.5 inches at the end, i don't know if that would change the tuning or not. I based it off a 2.5 inch port and took an inch off of the beginning and added one on the end.. Outside dimensions are 22.5 x 22.5 x 14.5 inches. Im not going to do anything else to this box cuz im gonna scrap it. My gear my box having some fun with the box my half ass install doesn't the box just look all pretty. im gonna make a different one for the sub. This is the best sub i've ever heard. I just wanted to take it out for a quick 20 minute driv…

I have a sundown scv-4000 amp, wired at one ohm. The sub's are 12" Zv4's sitting in a 4 cubic ft box, tuned at 40hz but loudest at 48hz. I have a 300 amp alternator wired with the big 3. All the wires 1\0 gauge. I have one Xs d3100 battery. Door speakers are 6 " Morels components. Rear deck are 6x9's morel components. Head unit is pioneer DEH-08prs. Vehical is 2002 KIA spectra ls. The KIA has Mojo Mat in the interior and trunk double lined on head liner. The doors are done inside and outer side. The system is hitting 141.1 on the DB's.
