I recently did a Cadillac Escalade ESV for a buddy of mine with (2) Fi BL 18's with the flatwound coil and cooling option. Built the box to 14.63 cubic feet with the port tuned to 33 hertz. Wrapped it in vinyl to match the interior of the vehicle and did a big "Fi" logo on the back of the box (notice the logo is an "innie", not an "outie".The amp, for now, is a Hifonics BXI2010D that puts out 1752 watts RMS. I will be swapped with a Rockford Fosgate T40001bd eventually. Built to be a daily driver. Here it is: Sounds great. Real nice quality and it really hits the lows nice, but it just isn't near as loud as it could be with the right amount of power goin…

Ok, I'm starting my new build pretty soon, probably when the next cold front comes through. But since I took everything out to measure, I needed some low end filler while I'm getting ready to start building, and until im finished...Best temp system ever. lol Tried facing them back in the back, but they kept sliding off of the little ledge and scaring the shit outa me when I would brake. What a mess. This whole setup aside form the box will be going in my gf's car around when I start my build. We're gonna use the leftover wood from my build to build a 4th order for her. She just wants a little bass till we can get some more money for some better equipment for her. It …

i'm finally going to have a soundstage in my room i always cheat. .1$ / ft = cheap cuts. but i couldn't afford right now tools like the shop has ignore the particle board. i had parts cut for some furniture. first time with the router. mid hole is a tiny bit too big. the tweeter fits perfect. i love my circle jig. diy terminals ftw ? still missing something, but it should be ready soon now all i have to do is sand the bondo and give it a test. working thursday and friday afternoons means painting is going to take a looong time. no pics of the actual build. getting all the tools on the table took more time than the actual assembly. i planned these boxes as temporary…

I recently purchased a MB SL380 for my wife for her birthday just recently. The previous owner "upgraded" the stock radio but putting in a basic cd player about 10 years ago and decided not to replace the 4" speakers in the dash but rather install some 6X9 in the space behind the rear seats. The plan is to install a new retro sound headunit with bluetooth capabilities, replace the 4" speakers with some upgraded stock replacements, and install a SSA four channel amplifier to power the speakers. In the near future I would like to install a small subwoofer in the trunk for some lows, the 4" speakers are going to provide anything below 100hz. Pictures posted belo…

Was watching TV today when my boy came over and asked if I had any extra wood to build a box. Had some extra lil peices laying around. It literally took us ten minutes to build this box. Thought I would show a few pictures since I think it turned out nice when we rushed right through it. Hooked it up and it doesn't sound to bad for a ten minute job..

Sup folks? I took out the dayton ho 10s and cadence txa6004s to downsize some. Purchased a Kicker 06ZX700.5 for amp duty and (2) Sundown E8's for subs. decided to run them sealed since the objective was to save space. guess we will see if i can deal with it. lol. so equipment will be alpine 9887 (running active 2 way front stage) kicker zx700.5 mach 5 mli-65s in factory door location (well deadened) seas neo textiles in the kicks 2 sundown e8's Goals for this were to downsize and save some space and still get decent output, and clean up the wiring some. Will eventually pull the 0awg and go with some 4awg (for now itll just be the 0awg to a dist. block with 4 off of…

Hey everyone, hows it goin. ok, so today i started my first ever fiberglass project in my little brothers SUV, it's a mitsubishi montero. im putting a single 10" mtx 5500 single 4 ohm woofer in it. he listens to rock so i figured a 10 would be perfect in a sealed enclosure. today i went to the store got all the resin, hardener, mat, brushes, aluminum foil, making tape, ect ect. ive never done this before but i have read alot of forums on it and thought i would try it out. ( not in my vehicle of course ) so far tonight i got the foil layed in the area i want the enclosure. after i got that how i wanted it i put a quick thin layer of resin down then put the mat down. i lea…

Here are pics of "Moms Soccer Van" before it goes in for custom vinyl graphics. Rear windows have been blacked out and urethane sealed To prevent flexing. Passive crossovers flushed into the passenger side under seat drawer. Refer all questions to 02skidoo as I only assisted on the dampening and tweeter install and brainstorming. Brian did all the rest himself. All dampening is Rockford Fosgate Deadskin (1 layer roof and sidewalls) Alt is from Ohio Generator and 3 Kinetik's. Could use a couple more. Now all I need to do is talk the Owner into Sundown and others!

I ordered the sub last thursday I dont know when it will be here though. The box is finally all cut up just have to assemble now, which should be tomorrow. So im using mostly 1" industrial PB, with some 3/4 mdf (hate the stuff, at least hardware store grade anyway) here and there, should be about 32hz @ 2.5 for daily. Its 34x16x16 externally, pretty big for a 12 I think, and its gonna be pretty heavy The cutlist: 45's: Hmm I wonder what these slots are for... No bracing besides the 45's which dont really count, this PB is incredibly beast More pics tomorrow and hopefully it will be done and the sub will come in soonish
