My first build was not posted here since it was before I found this awsome site but I will post a few pics of it. I recieved my Sundown SAE 1200 amp today and awaiting the 2 SSA Icon 12d1 subs. The box will be ported instead of sealed this time with subs firing up, still poundering on port location. Should I go out the side on bottom or up also? The box will be approx. 4.1 cubs tuned to 30hz. Picking up wood tomorrow after work and hopefully start cutting sat mornin. I know its alot of trial and error but if anyone has experience with extra cab trucks and port locations feel free to add. Here is the current set up in my 95 Mazda B3000 Kenwood KDC-X790 head unit JL Audio e…

So this is budget build right now. I dont have pic from everything riht now. I will probably keep everything beside woofer. Maybe get Alpine T…

Been awhile buty I'm still around. Pulled the 4 18's out and sold one 7500. Gonne run these 2 X18's on the other 7500 at .5. in a makeshift 6th order. I hate the the idea of flexing the whole truck like other truck before with this box.. So im gonna wall it at the B-Pillar and use the top section and shell it in and make a loading wall. 370amp Mechman Elite and 2 3400's, will add another 3100 for the back.

  9. Did this one last week. It was actually quite a bit easier than I thought it was going to be, hardest part being prep for paint but the radio bolted right in and removing the circuit board from the factory deck allowed the climate control to work like normal without stashing the whole radio someplace. Here's the pics. The victim Here's the circuit board that needs to be removed. Just unplug the ribbon cable at the front, remove two screws and it lifts right off. I made a little ABS box to house the circuit board and cut out a hole for the Molex plugs to peek out, making the installation much easier. Here's the radio all bolted in place. Just getting an id…

This is the car that got me the name audio-neon. The car that started it all. It took me 2 years to pay off. It lived several iterations of equipment, and it was my baby. The journey starts in December of 2004. I was a Junior in High School and I received this car fresh in paint, completely rebuilt. It was my baby. A 1998 Dodge Neon Coupe 2-door. In 2004 I added polk dB series coaxials. 6.5" in front and 6x9 in the rear. By late 2005 I was getting an itch for more. I went to my local car Audio shops and decided that Audio Obsessions was the place for me. Top notch customer service, and they were professional. They added a jvc 2 channel amp and a 12" Eclipse subwoofer. …

I figured I may as well post up my daily over here. It's a 1996 Cadillac Seville STS that I just acquired. So far a have a lil temporary setup installed. The type X 10" will be getting reconed shortly, or I may just throw two SA-12's in the car. I have already been rear ended in the short time of owning the vehicle, and have replaced all the parts. I'm also considering changing the color of the car, but it has to compliment the interior color. More than likely I will just add some pearls and candies to the original color. 16. Started by suicidal,

I figured I would go ahead and start a build log to keep track of my progress. My current vehicle is a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4 door 4wd. I haven't had a system in any of my vehicles in a very long time, and for some reason i got the itch. So, this build began. The Truck: First, I built this box to put in it, 4 ft^3 tuned to 33Hz (Thanks to Duane on this forum for the design): I hadn't used a jig saw in quite some time and was a bit rusty, so the speaker cutouts were too big and they were leaking. I was going to replace the top panel and redo the cuts, but before I could do that I had someone stop by the shop and offer me some cash for the box so I sold it before i was able…

This was my original set up. The box was 1.6cuft plus port and tuned to 33Hz. The piece on the right was my amp rack. One problem though with a baby on the way, I need room for the car seat and stroller and I also need to be able to remove the sub for extra space with out loosing all my music! So i built something a little different Counter sunk sub cut out using 3/4" MDF sandwhiched with 1/2" MDF Metal grill insert to allow heat to disapate. The amps have been moved into a false floor to free up more space The new box is 2.6 cuft tuned to 33Hz and goes stupid low! It's not finished yet, got some finishing touches left but i think you get the picture. Any sugges…

I know these are just a few and baaaaad pictures, but i wanna show you what im very proud of... This is the thing the enclosure is made of, a stock part of the car which is in the trunk. Finished (fibreglassed and mdf baffle)... Installed Its 1.4 cuft after displacements tuned to 36 hz.... Sound really nice and because the enclosure is screwed in the cars chassis everthing vibrates Its complete stealth after the orginal plate is over the sub.. I know my language sucks but i hope you understand and see whats done faezich And one last question: Looking for someone who can do blueprints for an spl comp. enclosure (flared port?!?) for my spl car ...?

Hey guys, well i bought my ute mid last year and have been pondering a full stereo setup for a while now. Being a single cab hilux i'm a bit tight on room for a sub since the passenger seat is fixed, and am not keen on the new slimline subs. So i finally got around to making a custom fibreglass box that sits behind the seats. At this stage the install is at about 80% completion, as my funds have dried up due to University. The gear im using is Headunit: JVC KW-AVX626 7" Touchscreen Splits: MB Quart RVF 216 (snagged a pair of originals before they changed to german maestro) Sub: Alpine 12" Type S Dual 4ohm voice coil (only full size 12 i could fit without using a slimline…
