Been checking out some sick installs the members have done here and thought I'd share a few of mine... fairly simple in comparison to alot of the stuff done on this board. But it sounds good and hopefully looks good to most. Did this for a customer a long time ago... about a year and a half ago now. He still has it in his car and loves it. Also installed components sealed in door panel the way they are supposed to be, not in the door skin the way bmw did it. Much better mids out of those than factory. Let me know what you think... 0.98ft^3 sealed. Takes up VERY little trunk room.

  5. Ok the project is to remian stealth but get loud! These trucks suck for under the seat room so the best bet is to go the the console with the enclosure....so i did......It is fairly easy to get 1.5 cubes and still remain at a resonable height and does remian comfortable. I did not take alot of early pics....I had bateries charging and could not slow down so I started taking picks about half way through......sorry. objective: Keep stock arm covers keep stock top arm/storage area. Woofer being used is a Fi 12" SSD the rest of the system is still uninstalled...I dont have the time to run wires and install the HU so a local shop willl cover this fun activity. So I drew out a…

I thought it might be fun to chuck this up here. The lada has moved on now, but it was a great learning experience. The idea behind the lada was to learn more about SPL, learn about walls and apply some theoretical knowledge I had. I covered SS 1-2NW, Street Max 1-2 with 1 sub, then a second sub. In the end, I maxed out at 152.6dB which I thought was quite good off 1 batt and a 4000D. Here we go - please note that the text accompanying the pictures is just a straight cut and paste of when i wrote it up on the local forums. --------------- Okay, so I decided to start a little bit early on the SS 1-2 NW box. Early meaning start a week out before hand instead of 3 days This…

So a week ago i designed this then built it with my dad for my brothers truck, a 94 s10 reg cab. The sub sits under the dash facing up and port is behind passenger seat. With polyfill it should be ~2 cubes @ 32hz its kind of crude and we couldnt afford the room for 45's or bracing, but it sounds really good and pretty even through a broad frequency range. My brother hasnt decided on a finish yet so its staying bare wood/caulk/putty/nails for a while... SPL testing will hopefully be the day before thanksgiving

Update: Replaced interior carpen and I'm painting all interior plastic pannels to match Painting the pannels Almond. teplaced carpet with used carpet from a house. im sorry folks but i dont have the money to buy new carpet. so dumpster diving was the only way to go. decided it was time for a back up camera system so i started the console for the screen to mount in. im just going to build around the stock interior parts. probably going to paint this part black to match the area where the A/C controls and the HU are mounted. had debated using fiberglass to do the console but with all the extra OSB lating around the shop. i went that route instead. and besides. id hate to…

It's been a busy couple of weeks so i haven't really been on much. I spent a lot of time working with a good friend on his FJ Cruiser install. This is the second "epic" install that he's done in the car, the first being scrapped for the additional weight it added and impracticality. The old setup weighed probably at least double what the new setup does, and the new system is much better sounding overall imo, so it was all gain and no real sacrifice. Originally the setup consisted of the following: Alpine IVA-W200 Alpine PXA-H701 Boston Acoustics Pro 60's in the front, Pro 50's in the rear 2x PG Xenon 1200.1;s PG Xenon 200.4 2x RE XXX12 (05 XBL2's) sealed Lots of deadener …

I've been looking into transmission line and tapped horn enclosure for a while, but still dont know a whole lot. here is my attempt at a tapped horn design with 4 7in goldwood woofers($12 each). I have it all put together right now and it sounds really good, but its too late to turn it up real loud so that will wait till mornin. I'm not finished with the build yet though, but i was close to finishin so i decided to see how it sounded so far. If anyone knows more about the designs, and sees if I'm doin anythin wrong, I'm listenin for advice. the outside the inside bottom piece wired up to see how it sounds. 4 8 ohms woofers wired to a single 8 ohm load, g…

real simple build that is semi-temporary. xmas im geting another amp so ill just have to cut a new piece of mdf and mount it up there. sorry for the crappy pics... used the camera on the phone and i worked on it at night. first i mounted a piece of mdf with bolts to the metal. next i got another piece of mdf to bring the amp rack out so it clears the rest of the rear deck. here is the mdf rack mounted on there. showing the clearance with the sub box in. AA arsenal ftw pic of the sub box. (the amp rack hasn't been added yet but u wouldn't be able to see it anyways. finishing it tomorrow night.

A buddy of mine at a local shop might hook me up with 2 Rockford 500.1's around 700 RMS each. He's also building me my custom ported box and a flush mount amp rack... I've never had 10's before, what do you guys think?

This is a compilation of the evolution of designs I put my poor truck through including the latest incarnation of my 04 F-150 extended cab. Basically it is three build logs sandwiched into one. The first one was just an asinine monstrosity. 25 cubes, took out the back seat it was awful, in fact the only decent thing about the enclosure is the drop in port design. The second was my first attempt at a cut through design. I actually got the major points right on the first try. The cut through came out well, as did the box and it did not leak. The amp racks were awful and I ended up blowing two 3000Ds because the amps were mounted directly to the enclosure, but that is what e…

( not in my vehicle of course ) so far tonight i got the foil layed in the area i want the enclosure. after i got that how i wanted it i put a quick thin layer of resin down then put the mat down. i lea…
