I'm going to be doing a box for 6 1508's and I have 6 4" aero ports lying around. I was wondering if a box at 6.5cubes (after discplacment) with 6 4" aero ports would be to much?

Well.....I've switched over to (2) 10'' SSA ICONS sealed from a 10'' Fi BL in 1.25ft^3@33hz. I couldn't get enough port area for a decent ported box so I was forced to ditch the BL. This box is for a 18" RD Alpha V1 6.75ft^3 net tuned to 34hz with 111 in^2 of port (this thing is HUGE) Due to the size I have to do the carpet a little different so I figured this would be a great time to try this out.

I have a 2005 Honda CR-V EX. This is the stuff I want to get for my system: Head Unit - JVC KD-AVX-44 Sub - 15"Fi Audio Q- Series Front - Phoenix Gold RSD 65CS Rear - Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 Amp (Sub) - Alpine PDX 1.1000 Amp (Interior) - Phoenix Gold RSD500.4 Enclosure - Made by DCole ( someone from another message board) Install Kit - ??? What is a good Install Kit to use? I know I should use 1/0 guage wires for the kit. I was looking at KnuKoncept Kits, but the one I wanted is sold out. I emailed the company and they said a new kit should be out by the end of the month. So I may end up going with that. Is there anything I left off that i'm going to need? I know I…

hey guys, i purchased a bl 15 a while ago and now im starting to measure my trunk to see how big of box i can fit. i made an exact replica out of cardboard a box thats was a little bigger than 4 cubic feet and 17 inches high. when i tried to put it in my trunk (corolla 98 is the car) the box was rubbing a tiny little bit height wise while it was about 75% in. i was wondering if its possible to make the box 16.5 inches high instead of 17 without sacrificing speaker output. sorry it's a bit complicated to explain!

As the title says, i have a 1986 F150 Regular cab. With this modle truck their really isn't really any room behind the bench seat to put a sub with out being on top of the steering wheel, and not cutting a hole in the back of my cab. This is about my 5Th box I have built for my truck. Ok no more talking, on to the build Head Unit: Alpine 9885 ($60 at best buy, on clearence brand new) Subwoofer: 12" shallow mount Pioneer FTW 3.25" mounting depth Amplifier: 1400W hitron bridged at 4 ohms (getting replaced with a sundown 1000d soon) And the truck that all of this is going into Been in the family since brand new, with 131,xxx miles on it, still runs and drive…

Alright, so I started my box build yesterday with a buddy of mine. It's 5.5 ft^3 roughly. It's sealed with a downfire mounted subwoofer. The subwoofer, as stated in the description, is a Dayton Reference HF 15" and will be powered by a Bash 500w plate amp. (4ohm) DAY 1 It was about 90 degrees yesterday with 94% humidity. Needless to say, we were a little warm. Just some scrap that we used from my first box build. Just mocked it up. DAY 2 Just had a little bit of time to work on it today. Here's a pic of the amp. And here is the only piece of wood I actually cut tonight. This is obviously the back plate. I plan on using an oak Formica to match my living rooms…

New box I built for my truck. It fits a whole lot better. I'm still waiting for my new port to come in but heres a picture with an old port. I'm not sure how I should finish the box. I wanted to paint it the color of my truck which is ford's orange/red rust color but I can't find anything close to it in stores. I'm hoping you guys can give me some new suggestions on how I should finish it. Once the port comes in I'll take pictures of it in my truck and let you know how it sounds.

Alright. It's time for a new build as I'm bored of my home theatre subwoofer. I already talked with Mark a bit and I'll be picking up 4 MJ-18s along with a Beringer EP-2500 amplifier. I'm thinking it will be made up of 5 pieces. (2) sub boxes, (2) speaker stands, and the main unit. The sub boxes will have 2 18"s each, and I'm probably going to go taller this time around and get it a bit skinnier. The speaker stands will hold one B&W DM 560 with the bottom of the speaker at 30". I believe at that height with our couches should be almost ideal. The main unit is going to hold out cable box, my Denon AVR-1707, the PS3, the PS2, the N64, the Beringer, my mini-fridge, and…

Yep, nothing fancy, no rims, no lowering or lift kit, no fancy exhaust. But I kept the truck exceptionally clean for one that is nearly 10 years old. Ok so this is my first time trying to build an enclosure on my own so it will probably end up looking a little rough. I started cutting yesterday and some of the pieces didnt turn out so well so I'm re-doing a few today. I will have some pics up later tonight when I finish. The enclosure will be right around 1ft^3 with a 3inch aeroport after all displacements. I'll be picking up either a 10'' Icon or 10'' bl when I get some more money. I'm looking for a daily pounder that can replace two 12'' kappa perfects that were sealed. Do the flared precision ports need a special type of 90 degree elbow in order to make a bend or can I just use any old elbow?

Having Alpines since my first system, I wanted to try something new. I went with Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus line opting with the 6 1/2" over the 5 1/4" after reading the review Car Audio Mag gave the 5 1/4". These drivers were a lot deeper then the type-r's I replaced them with. Here's the comparison in size. After adding another layer of deadener on top of my pre-existing Damplifier Pro I was ready to go. The install required the mid hole in the door to be cut a little larger to satisfy these beasts. Using the speaker ring as a template I made my marks and used a jigsaw to cut it. Using the template once again I made my baffles out of 3/4" mdf. I originally used …

It's finally time to re-do some things. Should be selling some stuff this weekend, which means I'm going to buy some plywood and build some diffrent enclosures for the mains (also put the HDS tweeters to use). Porting the ca18's should bring out a bit more mid-bass Since the Rl-i is going in the car because of space limitations and I've always wanted an 18, I'm going to replace it with an xxx. I've already started the box for it...here is where I am now : 1 inch mdf, undecided wether to flush mount it or not (baffle is going to be double). Still need a couple more braces and a magnet support after seeing how fragile is the basket, more precisely the mounting lip. ]

I posted this over at ca.com and I thought I would post it over here too. Here ya go. Well I finished building the box, besides Lowes not very good job at cutting wood (the very end up the left side of the port is probably 1/2 inch short), I think it came out pretty nice considering it is my first box. It is 7.75 cufeet tuned to 30 hz. Well here it is- The design by BuckyBoy Setting it up seeing how well all the pieces fit together Doing something Showing how huge the box is Putting it together drawing a hole Cut the circle
