My first build was not posted here since it was before I found this awsome site but I will post a few pics of it. I recieved my Sundown SAE 1200 amp today and awaiting the 2 SSA Icon 12d1 subs. The box will be ported instead of sealed this time with subs firing up, still poundering on port location. Should I go out the side on bottom or up also? The box will be approx. 4.1 cubs tuned to 30hz. Picking up wood tomorrow after work and hopefully start cutting sat mornin. I know its alot of trial and error but if anyone has experience with extra cab trucks and port locations feel free to add. 2 10" AQ SDC2.5's on a memphis pr 1.1000 all in a 2000 Altima. Dont have all the pics up but heres most. This was for my friends girlfriend. Couple Light coats of spray bedliner, turned out pretty good. As it sits now. Amp mounted on back of box. Overall i think it was a pretty decent install. And these 10's really suprised me with how loud and low they can get(btw box is tuned to 32Hz)

im getting 2 18'' ssa icons:) i have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee im thinking about walling it off ported box i want it to be insanely loud,and i have 1 d3400xs powered batt probly getting one more, so if any suggestions let me know thanks.

This was my original set up. The box was 1.6cuft plus port and tuned to 33Hz. The piece on the right was my amp rack. One problem though with a baby on the way, I need room for the car seat and stroller and I also need to be able to remove the sub for extra space with out loosing all my music! So i built something a little different Counter sunk sub cut out using 3/4" MDF sandwhiched with 1/2" MDF Metal grill insert to allow heat to disapate. The amps have been moved into a false floor to free up more space The new box is 2.6 cuft tuned to 33Hz and goes stupid low! Started this box Saturday evening for a customer. He has an 03 or 06 or something Expedition with the 3rd Row and was wanting something custom back there. first thought was to do a fiberglass amp rack in between teh woofers. After an initial test fit it was outta the question. Circles arent perfect as my jasper jig wont be here until tomorrow and i still have a few more things to do before he pics it up tomorrow. my new install will be up this weekend. I've been debating on how to upgrade my monoblock power and my electical system and i came to some costly decisions but I think I'll be happy with them. I will still be using my BTL 15 dual 0.7 fully loaded but in a different enclosure. which is currently complete but I'm waiting to put pics up till saturday because my new toys all come in this week via fedex. Hi, im new to competition quality amps and subs. and Im turning 18 on May 20th. so I was wondering what would be recommended with a budget of 1500$? ive been looking at companies such as Sundown and DC Audio but not everything is price listed. what I am basically wondering is what is the best I can do with this budget?? please let me know.

well i started building my box for my 2 shocker 3 10's. got a good bit done to it just got to finish it up tonight after work. it going to be 5.5^ft@32hz. all of it is going to be powered by a sundown 3000d. the equipment and the begining of the box

This is about 2-3 weeks pre build. But I finally got pics so there gettin posted. when the build begins ill just add to this thread. here is what ive got my hands on so far... all Knukonceptz wire.. 8gauge,4 gauge and 1/0, rca's, fuses, remote, all connectors 220A Alternator This is the only thing i bought used in the entire build so far. has a small scratch on the front, but powers up and sounds good, price was un beatable so i had to get it one more kinetik and some deadener and this all gets put into the vehicle..i would have a picture of the tahoe but it looks like shit right now, maybe another day

getting a new ride (hopefully a subaru wagon). anywho im looking to build a daily pounder might do some local shows. i was looking at a 5k2 and 2 zcons but finances are kinda tight to drop like 2k on gear. any suggestions would be appreciated or maybe someone stepped up to the evils and has a pair of 12's or 15's sitting in the basement or an old 5k amp . not hooked on ssa subs but i love the fact they are us made. looking to buy within days. sorry if its the wrong section. suggestions..tips.. tricks?

well i got bored tonight and put my cd player in. ill just get a few pictures of it in tonight. tomorrow i have to run the usb to the glove box and secure the dash kit but i was anxious to get started. tomorrow after i get the cd player finished im gonna start on the box build. its not going to be anything spectacular but hopefully keeps me happy for a while. gonna get the box built and hopefully the sub and amp will be in wednesday and ill get pictures and hopefully a video up. i know the type r coaxials arent the greatest but with this cd player its so much of an improvement over my shitty ass stock ive had in there for a while. cd player is the pioneer deh 7400hd

hey guys, i purchased a bl 15 a while ago and now im starting to measure my trunk to see how big of box i can fit. i made an exact replica out of cardboard a box thats was a little bigger than 4 cubic feet and 17 inches high. when i tried to put it in my trunk (corolla 98 is the car) the box was rubbing a tiny little bit height wise while it was about 75% in. i was wondering if its possible to make the box 16.5 inches high instead of 17 without sacrificing speaker output. sorry it's a bit complicated to explain!
