Hey guys. Going to go ahead and start up a build thread. This will be our first audio build, so I'm hoping it goes right. It's going to be for a 2005 Chevy Tahoe Z71 4x4. A little background on the truck: raised 3" with torsion keys, front brush guard, 33" BFG Mud Terrains, PA system, and straight pipes with 5" tips. I have now havoc 15" in 3CF sealed box running on saz1500d. I have 2001 626 mazda. Can someone please help me to build the loudest box for my system ?

2 10" AQ SDC2.5's on a memphis pr 1.1000 all in a 2000 Altima. Dont have all the pics up but heres most. This was for my friends girlfriend. Couple Light coats of spray bedliner, turned out pretty good. As it sits now. Amp mounted on back of box. Overall i think it was a pretty decent install. And these 10's really suprised me with how loud and low they can get(btw box is tuned to 32Hz)

Ok guys and gals, I have a 07 Saturn ion daily driver. Over the next few months I'm going to post pics and videos (hopfully) of what I got why I got it, and my reasoning behind my choices. My first build was not posted here since it was before I found this awsome site but I will post a few pics of it. I recieved my Sundown SAE 1200 amp today and awaiting the 2 SSA Icon 12d1 subs. The box will be ported instead of sealed this time with subs firing up, still poundering on port location. Should I go out the side on bottom or up also? The box will be approx. 4.1 cubs tuned to 30hz. Picking up wood tomorrow after work and hopefully start cutting sat mornin. I know its alot of trial and error but if anyone has experience with extra cab trucks and port locations feel free to add. First off i would like to appolgize to Ant at Second Skin for taking so long in making a build log, the average 25 degree weather made it difficult. But never mind the complaining. I already have used the damplifer pro on my car already so i know this stuff is legit. I opened up my package and noticed it was the black foil. Had a slightly different smell compared to the regular silver foil (don't ask how i noticed). But anyways lets get started! Heres a couple pics of my car....

This was my original set up. The box was 1.6cuft plus port and tuned to 33Hz. The piece on the right was my amp rack. One problem though with a baby on the way, I need room for the car seat and stroller and I also need to be able to remove the sub for extra space with out loosing all my music! So i built something a little different Counter sunk sub cut out using 3/4" MDF sandwhiched with 1/2" MDF Metal grill insert to allow heat to disapate. The amps have been moved into a false floor to free up more space The new box is 2.6 cuft tuned to 33Hz and goes stupid low! my new install will be up this weekend. I've been debating on how to upgrade my monoblock power and my electical system and i came to some costly decisions but I think I'll be happy with them. I will still be using my BTL 15 dual 0.7 fully loaded but in a different enclosure. which is currently complete but I'm waiting to put pics up till saturday because my new toys all come in this week via fedex. New setup::: 15 btl fully loaded wired at 0.5 ohm ( due to impedance rise ) 3.5 cuft enclosure tuned to 35 hz. Mint Autotek Mean Machine 3000.1 wired @ .5 ohm brand new NSB 90 battery in the trunk.

I am building system its going in a blazer four door 1 18"btl fully loaded with audioque 2200 I need a builder or some ideas for box and any ideas on how it will sound?

well i started building my box for my 2 shocker 3 10's. got a good bit done to it just got to finish it up tonight after work. it going to be 5.5^ft@32hz. all of it is going to be powered by a sundown 3000d. the equipment and the begining of the box

well i got bored tonight and put my cd player in. ill just get a few pictures of it in tonight. tomorrow i have to run the usb to the glove box and secure the dash kit but i was anxious to get started. tomorrow after i get the cd player finished im gonna start on the box build. its not going to be anything spectacular but hopefully keeps me happy for a while. gonna get the box built and hopefully the sub and amp will be in wednesday and ill get pictures and hopefully a video up. i know the type r coaxials arent the greatest but with this cd player its so much of an improvement over my shitty ass stock ive had in there for a while. cd player is the pioneer deh 7400hd

Started this box Saturday evening for a customer. He has an 03 or 06 or something Expedition with the 3rd Row and was wanting something custom back there. first thought was to do a fiberglass amp rack in between teh woofers. After an initial test fit it was outta the question. Circles arent perfect as my jasper jig wont be here until tomorrow and i still have a few more things to do before he pics it up tomorrow. Hi, im new to competition quality amps and subs. and Im turning 18 on May 20th. so I was wondering what would be recommended with a budget of 1500$? ive been looking at companies such as Sundown and DC Audio but not everything is price listed. what I am basically wondering is what is the best I can do with this budget?? please let me know.

hey guys, i purchased a bl 15 a while ago and now im starting to measure my trunk to see how big of box i can fit. i made an exact replica out of cardboard a box thats was a little bigger than 4 cubic feet and 17 inches high. when i tried to put it in my trunk (corolla 98 is the car) the box was rubbing a tiny little bit height wise while it was about 75% in. i was wondering if its possible to make the box 16.5 inches high instead of 17 without sacrificing speaker output. sorry it's a bit complicated to explain!

hi guys im buying a 15 in btl n2 (i used to have a 12 btl n2 but some one rear ended me) but i was planning a box and i want a crx box....but i was curious if the sub placement is best over the back by the port or towards the front....just fyi i like the wow factor i doubt it will go on a meter...oh and the port is gonna be centered on the box with a soundstream 2000d

getting a new ride (hopefully a subaru wagon). anywho im looking to build a daily pounder might do some local shows. i was looking at a 5k2 and 2 zcons but finances are kinda tight to drop like 2k on gear. any suggestions would be appreciated or maybe someone stepped up to the evils and has a pair of 12's or 15's sitting in the basement or an old 5k amp . not hooked on ssa subs but i love the fact they are us made. looking to buy within days. sorry if its the wrong section. suggestions..tips.. tricks?

its a messy install but its what i got. fi q18 d2 13.35cu before displacment 174sq port area tuned to 28 hz. power is a cadence txa6004 bridged ch3&4 @4ohm 600wrms. sorry no build pics just a vid.
