Hi guys. Want to share with you some pictures of my car. This is my 2007 Mazda CX-7 that I'm building to compete in USACi SQ shows in Mexico and the USA. I'm part of Team Hybrids, the competition branch of Hybrid Audio Technologies founded by Scott Buwalda that sells some of the best speakers in the world. This is my CX-7. The Head Unit is an Alpine W205. The music travels to the back via a fiber optic cable and also via Ai-Net cable, where it's processed in an Alpine H701, and sent to five JL Audio amplifiers hidden under a false floor. Power distro blocks. The front stage is handled by a HAT Legatia L831-3 set. The L8's are on the doors, the L3's on the kick pa…

for those of you that didnt see in the other thread, i took the first one out. i really wasn't happy with it once i thought about it. this one, already with the false floor, is coming out alot better. the floor is 2 layers thick. the first layer is bolted with 1/2" x 2.5" bolts in the rear, and up front its tite bonded, and screwed to those 2x4's u see under there. the 2x4's themselves are also bolted to the body with the same bolts. none-the-less, its very sturdy, and not gonna budge. the 2nd layer is self explanatory, its to make is 100% level (to cover the bolt heads used to bolt the first layer down) and to clarify, the cuts i made on the rear cross-member, to get tho…

Here are some pics of my current car. I bought it with 11 miles on it in Tampa. An 01' Nissan maxima. It was stock for the first 3 years of its life. I seem to have lost the pictures of the homecoming. These from the following year will have to do. In the woods.

im building a ported box for my blaupunkt 12inch vw1200 sub. it is powered by a audiobahn a8002t amp. it is in a sealed 1.25 cu ft. box but i am looking to build a 1.98 cu ft ported box. so i have alot of questions. first off any of you like blaupunkt? how big should the slotted port be (1 or 2 inches)? also i plan on painting the box first with a oil based primer and then with a automotive paint since i have alot of a sky blue paint left. also i plan on putting the sub to the very right of the box and have the left side of the box ported. also i have no idea on how to tune fequencies if someone could explain more in detail for me. i will post pictures soon. should come …

I have finally began to piece together the equipment for my next install. Being away at school makes it difficult to work on things, so slowly but surely it will get done. I'll try to keep this thread updated as I go along. To begin, the vehicle will be a 2002 Ford Explorer. The equipment that I am installing: Two 12" Fi Qs Orion 2500D Orion 8004 AudioControl EQX I began by tearing the entire out so I could lay this down:Two rolls of RAAMmat BXT and 9 yards of Ensolite. Here is how the truck looked originally: I began in the back and worked my way up front. In some photos you will see I used Spray Foam to fill in some of the space in the panels. I then l…

I've had some equipment laying around for over 2 years, and my wife wants a little bit of bass. I figure I may as well make the most of what I have, which chances are will be more than she'll ever use anyway. Her car: Chevy Malibu Equipment: Alpine 9885 Alpine Type-X 12 D4 Hifonics 2006d Enclosure: ~1.5ft net tuned to 36hz with 24sqin of port. She wants a little bass, and plenty of room to put groceries. Also no wires or equipment hanging out like most drop in installs. This is really temporary until she gets a new car some time this year. The equipment: Of course I had to draw up some plans and it starts at the kitchen table: A MS Paint drawing of what I'm going for…

It's finally time to re-do some things. Should be selling some stuff this weekend, which means I'm going to buy some plywood and build some diffrent enclosures for the mains (also put the HDS tweeters to use). Porting the ca18's should bring out a bit more mid-bass Since the Rl-i is going in the car because of space limitations and I've always wanted an 18, I'm going to replace it with an xxx. I've already started the box for it...here is where I am now : 1 inch mdf, undecided wether to flush mount it or not (baffle is going to be double). Still need a couple more braces and a magnet support after seeing how fragile is the basket, more precisely the mounting lip. ]

Almost forgot to post the build over here lol. Started the build on sunday. Anyhow, on to the pics. The design: started construction on the box. it's going to be a little smaller than initially planned at 2.1 cu ft. it's really my first enclosure with kerf'ed panels. i reallllllly need to get some big clamps. that would have made things MUCH easier. yes i'm using screws just to mess with Don :gapteeth: no clamps, so i had to ghetto rig it somehow. it works. a tiny crack started to form. i put some glue on it. seems to help it from spreading. starting to kerf the other port piece... waiting to get bent into shape. a few days went by. sub came. got myself a clamp …

Here goes to the start of deadening my 02 Z71. Lots of deadening going in. 155 Sq ft. Raammat 5 or 6 Yards Ensolite 5 gallons and 1 quart of Spectrum GM's way of trying to stop you from removing the rear bolts on the front seats an 11mm 12 point did the trick. Also the front nuts on the front seat are removable with 15mm 12 point. Carpet is not so clean lol When I saw this clip for the first time I thought "I'll come at you like a spider monkey!" The rear light needs to be removed before dropping the headliner to disconnect the light More pics to come

Alright so i'm going to buy an 18" fi bl before summer, but i want the plans for the setup before i buy. My box is 31"H 35"W and only 17"H, and will have a 3" port going along the 31"H, tuned to ~30hz. The sub will be on the same side of the box as the port, is that a problem? The only thing i could think of is that, im taking up 2 seats in my quad cab dodge ram for this, and because of the seat it will be set at an angle. Will the sub perform right, and what should i do, if anything, to my box since it will have the strain of an 18" sub on it. The only way i could get around this would be if i put it in the bottom corner opposite the port.. how does where i put the sub …
