So a week ago i designed this then built it with my dad for my brothers truck, a 94 s10 reg cab. The sub sits under the dash facing up and port is behind passenger seat. With polyfill it should be ~2 cubes @ 32hz its kind of crude and we couldnt afford the room for 45's or bracing, but it sounds really good and pretty even through a broad frequency range. My brother hasnt decided on a finish yet so its staying bare wood/caulk/putty/nails for a while... SPL testing will hopefully be the day before thanksgiving

The vehicle is a '88 Caprice two tone, gray and maroon. The box is 5.2ft^3 net tuned to about 35hz right now. The amp is a Massive D5000.1 (2500 watts rms). The sub is a 08S15L7. I'm going to cut down the length some when the owner listens and then let him choose what he likes best. I told him I could make his setup as loud or louder than his older box with 2 of the same subs. He has a massive D5000.1 (2500watts rms at 1 ohm) and it was wired to 1 ohm before and now its going to be at 2 ohm. So half the cone area and half the power. And then the box will have black carpet. I'll be mounting his amp on the box when everything is decided with an extra layer of MDF with cus…

Hu guys, This is my third box for my sub. It's the loudest one! Now, I feel That I have a really powerful system !!! The design is coming from Bromo. I bought the2 4" ports at Madisound : it was a pleasure to deal with them. Fast (very fast) answers, they shipped my order the next day, and they gave me the choice for the shipper. Loved it ! first box was a L ported box : 3.5 ft3 at 32 hz with sub and port up. It was taking ALL my cargo space and was not really powerful. I can't understand why; it was sooo loud in another smaller car with the same sub. second box was 3 ft3 sealed, firing up or back : I lke it, seems louder than the first one ! More cargo space left, This…

I figured I would go ahead and put up a build log since some of my stuff came in today and I plan on being done with this project over the next month. Well I'm 16 years old and this is my first car a '97 Toyota Tercel, I got this car from my grandma as a gift and I couldn't be happier with the 40mpg I get. (1.5L 97hp lol) There is a couple things I plan on doing to it like a new paintjob and some rims and a tint job, etc. The first thing I'm going to do is give it a little acoustic upgrade on a slim budget. My planned setup HU - Pioneer DEHP3000IB Front Stage - 4" Kenwood KFC1682 Back Stage - 6 1/2" Kenwood KFC1682 Mids Amp - Kenwood KAC 500 Sub Stage - 1 15" Fi SSD Sub …

Alright so i'm going to buy an 18" fi bl before summer, but i want the plans for the setup before i buy. My box is 31"H 35"W and only 17"H, and will have a 3" port going along the 31"H, tuned to ~30hz. The sub will be on the same side of the box as the port, is that a problem? The only thing i could think of is that, im taking up 2 seats in my quad cab dodge ram for this, and because of the seat it will be set at an angle. Will the sub perform right, and what should i do, if anything, to my box since it will have the strain of an 18" sub on it. The only way i could get around this would be if i put it in the bottom corner opposite the port.. how does where i put the sub …

Don't have anything to show yet, but here is the plan: 8 cube box with an 8" aero port. 3/4 mdf all the way around with double layered top. 8" PVC port flared and flush mounted. 2x4 going from front to back, and top to bottom. Going to use bolts through the side as terminals. Woofer will be either an 18" UFO BTL or HDC3. Tuning will likely be 30hz. Amp is an old school Memphis 1500w. Old school meaning back before they wired to 1 ohm. Stock alt holds at 14.1 v with the red top under the hood so electrical won't be upgraded. I'm getting the wood and building the box Sunday. Opinions? Tips?

So it finally got delivered last night at around 1030 pm from Rutland VT. I have always dreamed of owning a muscle era car, and decided that this year instead of building a computer or blowing my money elsewhere, that I would look for a project car with my tax return. After several weeks of looking, this is what I have found. The car is home, and after adding some gas it started right up. The stainless steel brake lines I ordered for the car have arrived, and after a short test drive today, I found out that it has either an oil or cooling system problem, and an evident misfire. That being said, this is a long term project that I hope to keep you guys in the l…

I recently purchased a MB SL380 for my wife for her birthday just recently. The previous owner "upgraded" the stock radio but putting in a basic cd player about 10 years ago and decided not to replace the 4" speakers in the dash but rather install some 6X9 in the space behind the rear seats. The plan is to install a new retro sound headunit with bluetooth capabilities, replace the 4" speakers with some upgraded stock replacements, and install a SSA four channel amplifier to power the speakers. In the near future I would like to install a small subwoofer in the trunk for some lows, the 4" speakers are going to provide anything below 100hz. Pictures posted belo…

  21. This is another build I'm doing for a friend of mine. I'm doing an audio and hydraulic install for him. Goals... Put a clean and simple system together. Keep wattage reasonable to avoid large electrical upgrades. Good overall sound quality and output. Use as little space possible for audio. Got the box started. Using 3/4" birch plywood with a double baffle. Here is a shot of the backside of the sub for those who haven't seen one of these subs yet. Had to get creative to fit a pair of 3" Aero ports in this box. It's tuned at 33hz with a box volume of 1.5 cubes. The "shrek" box. Just needed to black out the top the other sides aren't seen when installed. …

Recently i've decided to upgrade my front stage. I've thought about it for a year, but made the first move when my left speaker went out. When i bought the car a year and a half ago there were 4 speakers in the car. The front 2 5.25 were dead, beyond my understanding of why they were still in the car. The morning after i got the car home i took those out and put the rear 6.5s in the front doors. Still this didn't do much for the "music" they made. But i dealt with them 'till now. Within a few months i got a new HU, the JVC KD-s100. I'm happy with it, it has all the features i needed at the time, but i plan to upgrade that in the future with more crossover settings, if po…
