Hi everyone ! I own a brand new MAzda CX-5 2.2 l Diesel. It's my first SUV, I've never had so much room in the cargo area ! I'm still waiting on a dash kit and an adaptor for the head unit. I sold a lot of things from my ex car, the Toyota : rca's, power and ground (cca) wires, box, a Kinetic 1200, a DD 9515 ;-) and more....It gave me some serious cash to buy a few items. Here what I have so far : head unit : Pioneer X5600BT I need a double DIN unit to keep the screen for the parking radar (how do you call that ?) Amplifiers : Incriminator Audio 20.1 for the bass and a 3.4 for the mids & highs. (thanks SSA for the Black&Blue sale). Sub : SSA Zcon 15" Mids & …

  2. The goal 140. My previous attempt netted me a 135 and change at 32Hz. You can see my previous build here: Original Build This time I'm upping the anty with a pair of 18s and double the power. A mind boggling 900 watts. That's 900 old school class A/B watts via US Acoustics USB line. Why you ask? Because, they're cheap. The 2150 average about $100 bucks on ebay and the 2080 were about $40, which includes shipping. Here is a run down of the setup: The car: 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra A.K.A The Cream Puff Head Unit: JVC KD-HDW10 A basic CD player with a built in HD tuner and RCA outputs Amps: 2 US Acoustics USB-2085 both at 80 watts x 2 @ 4ohms (mids and highs) & 2 US…

Started a few days ago and here is my most recent pic, *False floor is not finished* Oh, also...the box with the 8 was a 2 minute throw together with what I had LOL BTW this is what it looks like from the outside...

I figured it was time to start a build log as I'm hoping this setup will stay in my car for a bit. Over the past year I have changed setups more times than I can count. I have yet to be completely happy with my system as a whole, so I sold everything aside from my Pioneer 880, and decided to start from scratch. My main goal is to have a system that sounds good to me with the ability to get fairly loud for when I'm in the mood. This will most likely take at least a month to complete as I still need to decide what subs to go with, then add build time. I should have some pics of the gear, and progress pics up by tomorrow. So far I have purchased the following: Head unit: Pio…

So I have finished ordering all the things for the build on my 2011 Chevy Tahoe. Will be my first build and I am still learning as I go, have helped a few friends with some builds but nothing as invasive as this nor by myself but I am looking forward to it. I plan on doing quite a bit to my Tahoe in this first stage of my build, going to pretty much gut the entire truck shitloads of deadener, replacing all the factory equipment with aftermarket. Not going for a flashy look I want to truck to remain as stock looking as possible which suites me cause I have no clue about fabricating anything (maybe try some later). Anyway this is what I finally went with: H/U: Clarion NX702…

Hello All! I was able to trick Santa again this year, and he kept me on the nice list. With some help from the gents at SSA, he brought me 2 new XCon 12s....WooHoo!! It's finally time for me to get building and put these suckers to use. This will be my first time building a box, but this creates a perfect excuse to buy more tools. I would like to reach out to you guys and get some experienced advice to help in my first quality build The car is a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe. It has the Bose Monsoon system, which isn't terrible for a factory unit. Unfortunately, all of the cars display features are integrated in the factory's HU display. For this reason I will be k…

Going to order a Shark Audio SHKAMP-2500D today from ebay for $99 shipped to power it with till I can get a better amp. Seen this as I was putting away the box. Explains the B-stock designation. I'm guessing they smudged the finish as seen here:

First off, to those who have helped me with my mid bass thread. I'm still planning/ listening as time allows. Thank you, to those that have offered help , you know who you are, it's greatly appreciated and I should have some updates soon. O.K., I figured I'd better get off my ass now that i have some time and get the subwoofer box on its way. This is an enclosure for 4 sa-8's, 3.6 c.f. (net) tuned to 33 hertz with 52.875" of port. It will be driven by a sundown saz-2000d @ 1 ohm. This is going in my 2000 ranger extended cab pickup. Everybody has seen enclosures with kerfed ports, but not like this one I'd bet. I was originally going to do a double kerfed port, but in the…

Okay, so I've been doing a little at a time for a while now, and I finally have everything together (minus the electrical upgrades- but they will be on their way shortly). I'll have to post some pics of all the equipment together in later post since I don't have it all in the same area, but heres my plans: 4 18" BTLs, 4 Memphis 4kws, and the electrical system to boot, most likely 3-4 iraggi 260s, and 6 batteries. 20ft net with interchangable ports, the main one will be tuned to 36hz (more like 36.1, but oh well) with about 240sq of port. I've been waiting to get enough pics to really start this thread, so here's my progress as of now. I'll update as progress is made, but …

Hello, thanks for checking out my build. I decided to stick a system in my Honda after years of not having anything but stock audio. I just don't have a lot of funds for high end equipment, so pretty much everything is budget equipment. I don't really have any goal other than to eventually hit 150db for as cheap as possible, we shall see how that turns out. For now I am just enjoying having some tunes again. As of right now I've got the following gear installed. I just bought a 95 Cadillac Eldorado. It has the factory amplified system in it, so I have to run all new wires, amp, speakers, etc. I'm still trying to decide what i'm going to run in it. So far I'm thinking an Alpine IXA-W404 for the head unit, PXA-H100 eq, a set of focal 165a1 components running active, a dsc480 or dsc4125 to run the front stage, my saz-1500d to run the sub stage and probably 1 15" ported through the back deck or one sealed 18". For electrical, it has a new Interstate 800 cca main battery, I'll put my kinetic HC1400 in the trunk, run 1/0 main power and do the big three in 1/0. Here are some pics, and feel free to comment on my planned system. Also I'm …

I'm not new to forums but I am new to this car audio forum. Here's a shot of the parts: I've already started removing the dash and old Eclipse HU that was in the car. Supposibly the kid I bought the car from bought the car from a car stereo installer. I can confirm that by the very nice previous install of the HU. All twisted wiring cut to length. Here's a shot: This is what it looks like under the hood: Ok back to it...more to follow...! MR2
