So I am off on my way to school when all of a sudden my car decides to play games with me...Ok so I let it go but then it kept doing it and over and over till it got a little serious. Well today my 5th generation ipod video decided it was going to take a chit. something involving the drive broke off and they want $150 to fix it. I have virtually no cds anymore so this is a very bad thing. I have a 16gb flash drive, and am looking for a Head Unit that has a usb connection so I can try to use this for music. I have never owned one with a usb connection, and am trying to find a quality yet inexpensive H/U that will serve this purpose. Also wondering if JVC makes any H/U's worth buying that do this?

Im not even sure what my stock alternator is I want to say 85A, I have big 3 with 1/0 and with my 1500 watt amp with moderate gains I drop to 10v or so under heavy pounding, with severe dim. Is this alternator an adequate upgrade, or should I save up and hunt down a slightly better one... I dont think i can afford more than $200 however. If I did get this do I need any other upgrades? Hey guys, I'm having trouble on deciding what amp would be best for this sub. The Me10.2 is a 10" DVC 2 ohm driver rated at 700W RMS, and I will probably run it at 4 ohms in a sealed enclosure ~1 cu ft. Whats a good value amp would you recommend that can run ~600W RMS @ 4 ohm load on stock electrics? Or should I run this sub at 1 ohm? Thanks, Lucas

This was all caused by a loose connection. I had a shunt in between the battery and the amp so I could watch the current draw at all times. The connection on the amp side of the shunt got a little loose, and well it pretty much melted the wire into one big strand. I didn't shoot a picture of the connection, but you could tell it got hot. I know that the piece looks like Solder, but I assure you 110% it was CCA KNU wire. This time I'll tighten it up a little more And I cut another 3/4 inch further, I don't know what temperature it got to, but it made it to whatever temperature turns a copper ring terminal black with green and white corrosion.

Hello all, well as I stated in my opening post I competed years ago in SPL and as I am building a new setup running four identical amps for my subs, I was curious what else there is to link them for good synchronization? Please do not debate with me or anyone about syncing either my post is only for the purposes of finding out what people are running to link there amps whether it be custom or store bought, I have used both. I have seen people using the maxx link from hifonics but I can't seem to find them as they must be discontinued??? Hello forum folks. I have a 2004 Buick park avenue that I am wanting to install a system into. I have run into one problem...I was about to buy a standard wiring harness when I was told that I would need a "data harness" due to my car having onStar even though I dont use it. If anybody has had any experience in installing a head unit into 2000 and up GM with onstar your assistance would be greatly appreciated. If anybody could link me to the proper harness it would be appreciated as well...as I am trying to avoid paying a shop $700 to install my system. Thanks

Heres the scoop: I went to put my sub and amp in my car, and was having a hard time getting the box to fit, so I thought I better check everything out to make sure it worked, and the amp keeps going into a protection mode or something. Its a Memphis PR1000.1 I tried to contact the seller because he guaranteed not to be DOA but won't get a return. I guess thats what I get for buying off of ebay But anyways, I was wondering if people could give me some input on which would be a better amp for my Fi Q in a LSQ installation. Kicker ZX1000.1 Sundown SAE-1000D I can get them for about the same price. Any help? Thanks.

How do you measure the actual output of an amp in watts? I remember my friend Aubrey telling me how, but cant find the info again. Im trying to figure out what my 601S Rockford Fosgate Amp puts out. It says 600 rms, and 1800 peak, which is strange for the peak to be so much higher, but anyways I've also heard that RF underrates their amps substantially like Kicker does. So my question again is how do I measure the power an amp puts out?

I have 2 AQ2200ds strapped together. The power light was always on on both amps so no reverse wiring there. They never went into protect. Voltage sitting at 13.5v Gain half way, subsonic all the way down, lpf at 110hz. Preout voltage 4v, preout maxed out on head unit, Sub output is turned on, bass is on +3 boosted at 80hz. I have 2 Kinetik HC 2000's in my tahoe which is broken down for the time being. Fuel pump took a dump and its in-tank. not to mention i was just layed off from work.. its going to be sitting for a little while. Do i have anything to worry about, will the battery's be fine? ... im only asking this because im pretty sure ive read about this somewhere else but have nothing solid to go on.. i mean if they go dead i charge em.. right? lol. hi, i am wondering is doing the big 3 in 4 guage enough for a 2400 rms system? i know using a thicker wire is better but i would like to use stock type connects and the biggest side terninal battery wire is 4 guage that i can find unless i can find like 2 guage then i might be stuck using 4 guage.

So with that I need a custom box for my 2002 Avalanche rated to spec for (2) 15' V2 Nightshades *when they're available*. What the best Tuning Frequency should it be set at? Should it be Ported/Vented,4th order bandpassed, or T-lined? I still want to use the back every once and a while to carry shit so should the part of the box extended into the bed be sprayed with bedliner or fiberglassed to keep the elements out of the box. will a 130amp alternator suffice for a SSA ZCON 15 D1 either at .5 or 1ohm on a Crescendo bc200D and some other goodies down the road or would a 200amp alt be better

well i was examining my alternator today, and this is the one im gonna send in for exessive amperage to mod. the area circled in red is the place where the wiring harnesses goes to connect to everywhere and it doesnt look like i can run 1/0 gauge, and if i keep the stock wire, for sure it will catch fire. Comments, ideas?
