I have a factory system in my new Explorer and do not want to go through installing my cd player right now. I want to keep it all stock except unhook the 8"sub in the back, run the signal to my amp and have my two 15s back there. How would I do this?? Could I simply hook a LOC to the wires that went to the 8"?? Or would the power that is run through that be too much for an LOC, or does it even matter? Ok i am in the need of a new alternator for my truck. The stock one that i have is a 65 amp model. My future plans are 2 10" or 12" icons, and 2 1000 sundowns, or 1 1500 soundown. I am planning on getting my alt rebuilt to 150 amps, or get a 200 amp powermaster. I'll be running between 2 and 4 batteries in my bed box(Deka Intimidator Battery's for now). Ill be running atleast one run of 1/0 or 2/0 to each battery in the back (maybe overkill, but i dont want there to be a big a drop in the voltage). I have talked to a couple of mechanics and they all say that if i upgrade my alternator to that many amps that i will be running the chance of catching my truck on fire due…

I have not been able to find an unfused distribution block for 1/0 gauge wire..... it needs to connect like 4 0 gauge wires.

Need some advice, I need to purchase a 4 channel amp the choice between sundown 125.4 or ice 150.4 The only thing that's holding me back from buying the sundown is I've just read its a D class compared to the SPL ice 150.4 which is a a/b class. Would there be a big difference in sound quality on my mid & tops? I use a sundown 1500d v3 on the bass but I need a 4 channel to go with it. Thoughts please

Never ran an amplifier for mids and highs and this amplifier is what I'm looking into getting. Does anyone run this amplifier or has ran it? Decided on getting the rockford fosgate t2 6.5 components in the front and rear.

Here are the details: 2007 Chrysler 300C Fi Q15 Dual 2 (Ported) "Big 3" Upgrade I am looking for an amp (1 ohm mono) to run a Q15. I would like it to sounds as good as possible (obviously) with a budget of $350. So far, I have narrowed it down to the following: - US Amps MD-1D - Sundown SAE1000 - Audioque AQ1200D - Cadence iA7 All can be had for $350 or under... what is my best bet for a good LOUD SOUND QUALITY amp?? hey everybody, a buddy of mine is looking for a decent/good quality amp to use for his daily driver. Hes running 2 Kicker CVX 15s, looking for around 4000wrms. He found a Powerbass that can do 4000wrms @ 1 ohm... just looking for some general feedback on these amps performance wise...do they put out what they say they do? Are they reliable amps? etc etc Thanks!

What is the difference between marine audio and car audio? Will the typical marine audio amplifier work in a car? Are their wny special considerations? Wiring? Air Circulation? Voltage? Thanks for the input.

I'm thinking about buying a Fi Btl N2 and I was looking at amps and it seems like hifonics is a good brand from what I have seen and read. I was just wondering wether I should get the brutus or the hfi series. I need to run around 2000 watts. Both the Hfi and Brutus amps are class D and say they are used for subs. So I was just curious on what your opinions are.

I have a 220A H/o alt for a 01 lincoln LS and I am current running just a stock battery. If I get two other batteries, even though Ive not got my amp yet, and install the alt in my car would there be any damage? Or if I hooked it up now to a stock battery would there be any damage? and second question, I flubbed up and read the ebay post wrong and ordered 2 S3400 from XS power, I wanted D3400s, whats the difference and would I regret using the S over the D series?

Hi, I'm getting a Mach5 MAW15(for now), and was wondering which amp you would buy, based on price/quality? I don't want to go more than $400. Precision Power PC2150RB(used, but almost new) = $260 Zapco REF500.1(new) = $380 US Amps Merlin MD22(new) = $180 US Amps Xterminator XT800.2(new) = $125 Any other recommendations are appreciated . hey guys my amp was workin then it went on protect. now all it does is led goes on then protect keeps blinking when ever i turn my stereo on i have it hooked up to a 18 solo x thanks if you can help.

I am going to be running 4 saz1500 amps. My question is if I were to have the rca's signal go into the input of one amp and then use the outputs on that amp to connect it to the next amps' inputs and I do this for all 4 amps like a chain will there be a noticeable amount of signal delay? Would I be better off getting some form of rca block that has 4 outputs and run each output to it's own amp?

I am interested in buying two 15" bl's 1 ohm subs and I am just wondering what amplifier I should put with those. A friend of mine is telling me to go with a USA-2000x amp for both. I keep reading over this forums and it seems lots of people enjoy Sundown. Any help would be appreciated.

has anyone used the 1/0 raptor wire? Just looking for some info on it. how does it compare to other 1/0 wiring out there? Its cheap but that isnt always good. Any experiences?

Plan on running two sundown 1500's with two Odyssey 2150 batteries in the back and one Odyssey 1200 under the hood. Going to keep my factory 130 amp alt to run it. Question is, how many runs of 1/0 should I run from the front battery to the back two? Probably going to just ground to the chassis of the car in the back. Thanks for the help

as the title what are your thoughts on doing this? what are the pros and cons on using this type of power cable to run from my engine bay battery to my rear distributor block. i curruntly have kicker flex power and 4 awg from battery to dist block and 4 awg continued to two amps.my amps sundown saz 1000.1 d and a cadance xenith series 125.2. in currently runnig my sundown at two ohm and i what to be prepared to run the amp at 1 ohm in the future. feed back would be great thanks

Which is better Passive or Active? After askin on other threads i figured out the difference, but not sure which one is best. All i can figure is Passive would be better because you can use one channel of amplification and get 2 or 3 way crossover, and have that one channel power 2 or 3 speakers. So = better use of power. For Active you need one channel for one speaker. so more power is required by needing more channels, but that give you more control, right? Will one sound better than the other?

I have a 1.5 farad capacitor a friend gave me and I'd like to put it to some good use. I have a small mtx amp powering a pair of JL coaxial 5.25" speakers and a punch800.2 bridged for my RE HC 12". I understand some people are against using caps but I have one so I might as well use it. And generally they are used for the amp powering the sub however, in my case I highly doubt it would do anything noticable. So here's my question: What would happen if I hooked up the cap to the MTX amp that is powering the front speakers? Would that give the MTX amp a little extra boost? I believe it's a mtx roadthunder and it's pushing maybe 50rms total.

I need to get a cheap crossover fast so I can take out my damn 3sixty.2 which is having bluetooth issues and send it in AGAIN...anyway. How bad are the crossovers on this page: Parts Express Any other suggestions on something I can get cheap. Something with high level inputs would be ideal, but I can run a LOC too. Best case would be 2 way active plus sub, but I really could get by with out the sub and without the bandpass on the mid channel because I could use the amp crossover for that (my mains are on a pair of Sundown 100.2's).

would i be able to use my moto q to make adjustments on this unit?? i currently have no eq and processing (other than that on my panasonic 8305) would i notice a great difference in sound by installing this?? my current setup: pg rsd6.5 old school hifonics 2x100 rms 3 12" hx2 t20001bd would this really put a smile on my face or will i regret buying it?? thanks for the help guys

im doing the big 3 and was wandering why people put fuses between the alt and batterie + is it to save the cars eletrical system or is it to prevent the wire from melting???
