Hi there I just bought a 15 inch nightshade and need to pick an amp to run it. I want to get an amp that can run it at 2 ohms. Money is a lil tight,.. I was thinking about a hifonics brutus that does 1700 at ohms or a Power acoustics that does 2600 at 2 ohms, these are affordable amps but i dont know how good they are or if they over heat i would love some suggestions or links to amps that can run a 15 inch nightshade and get it LOUD without over heating or messing up the battery or alternator and is efficient and all that.. if someone is selling an amp that can push this sub please let me know. thanks!!

Like the thread says, looking for an amp for mids/highs. This will only be powering the front stage, so I was looking at 2 channel amps, 4 channel amps would work as well, but i'd kinda feel like i was wasting money on 2 extra channels (if this was for me, i would go 4 channel and just bi-amp, but its for a friend). He already has speakers that are 2 ohm and rated at 70 watts RMS. He doesn't have a specific budget for this amp, but around $200 should work for his overall system budget. I have a friend running a 300w PowerBass amp to a 10" powerbass sub in his single cab Ford Ranger. He called me the other day and said he was driving around town "bumping" and his sub randomly quit working. This kid knows little to nothing about car audio, so he calls me with his problems. I went and looked at his amp and sub too see if I could figure anything out. The sub felt warm, and the amp was REALLY hot. I am planning on putting a system in my stock 05 Dodge ram 1500 Quad-cab and wanted to know if my electrical could handle it if i added a couple of batterys in the back? I don't want to buy a alt because i will be getting rid of the truck in about a year or so. the amp will push one DC lvl4XL or Lvl5 I have the whole back seat to work with for space If anyone needs any other specs just ask. Does the SPL FX1-4000D amp do rated power? Or does anyone have experience with it?

so i upgraded from a zx750 to a zx1500 and i dont really notice a huge difference from the two im pushing two kicker cvx 12" at two ohms my head unit goes from -15 to 0 to +15 db on the head unit and i dont really see a big difference from the new amp i usly keep the head unit set around + 11 i was thinking if i doubled my amp size i would go from only having my head unit set to around + 4-5 to get the same out of a + 11 db setting on a zx750.1 is it just my electrical thats keeping my system back ? am i missing something i mean my side mirriors viberae the same but i was thinking i would get a huge difference in sound going from 750.1 pushing two CVX's to goin…

Ill be buying a new amp soon. Ill be putting this amp on 3 10 re srx. The amp will be on the stock electrical and I might do the big 3 upgrade. And i might be getting an amp for my highs and mids. I have the alpine type r 5x7. They are 100wrms each. My budget on the amp is spending no more than 150 for the high amp. For the sub amp i will be spending no more than 280$ Oh and the amps i could get the SAE 1200d for 211 refurbished and the SAZ1000d for 197 refurbished. They will be on a 2000 f250

My friend and I are installing this head unit: Dual XDVD8183 All In-Dash Car Stereo Receivers Car Stereo Receivers and Head Units Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix and there is only one output for the subwoofer amp. So instead of a red and white one there is only a blue one for the subwoofer out. There are two normal ones for the front and rear, so could we just use the rear outputs? Also there is a single center output, could you use this along with the single subwoofer out? I can take pictures if needed.

I'm installing an amp for my speakers and I'm just wanting to know what I should do for the crossover settings. I have 6.5" Alpine Type S components up front and 6.5" Alpine Type S coaxials in the back. What should I use for the input levels at the front (Full or HPF) and at the back (Full or HPF)? Lastly, what should the frequency be for the front and the back? I'm just going passive btw. Thanks in advance for any help!

So my battery died yesterday cuz my friend left a light on in it. Its parked in my driveway which is on the main street of my town and i can't push it back anyways cuz of the snow. Would I be able to take my battery out and charge it with a friends running car? I don't see how this wouldn't work but just want to make sure before i make anything worse, gotta work tonight.

What's the difference besides the price? I know that the Kolossus cable is supposed to be thicker than standard AWG but is it worth almost double the price? Referring to 1/0 awg wire with an Audioque AQ1200D. Wire would be for power/ground/big 3.

What is the reasoning for not putting one on? It should not be that hard or cost effective since many line drivers and whatnot have clipping indicators.

the kicker zx1000.1 has a 0-18db variable bass boost at 40hz.. my question is if i want to run my IDQ15s ported and tuned to 28-30hz would the bass boost hurt the sound of the subs?

Ok so I have a 2005 mazda 3. After putting in a saz-1000D and a JL 300/2 (just ordered my sax100.4 which will replace the JL), my electrical couldn't handle it. So I decided to do the big 3 as it is the cheapest route. Well I just finished. And I think there was an improvement but not like I thought it would be. Now when my bass hits my voltage drops from 14.4 to 13.8 sometimes 12.8. This is with the car on and idling. And my lights still dim but not that bad as it used to. My car has a 90 amp alt. Upgraded to big 3 now. So my next step is getting a kinetik or XS battery for the rear to see if this makes an improvement. After I do the battery in the rear I plan on doing…
