I am figuring on buying 2 15" Q. I am debating whether i should get the 1500zx kicker amp or the PA 4000 amp. I also need to know whether i will need a new alternator if i already have an upgraded battery and a 4.0 FARAD capacitor. I want the system to be loud, and not have to worry about blowing the speaker. Also should i get the 2 15"s 1 ohm or 2ohm if im going to be using one amp. Thanks

Okay, So here in a few days Im ordering two subs.... Either the Maw-15's or the Eclipse SW7200. Both of which are rated 500w Rms. So I have picked out some Amps that caught my eye to use to push them. Take a look and tell me what you think. Please feel free to inform me of other Amps from which I did not list. I have a unit I bought a couple years ago that I'm going to try and do a warranty exchange on. I think I paid a little over $200 for it. I could add another $200 on top of that, so $400 total. What does BB sell that is actually good? High voltage outputs (at least 4v) and ipod connection are extremely important.

  7. Hey all.Im going to be getting a AudioQue 3500d.1 and I was wondering about the dual power/ground inputs on the amp.My main question is a major noob one.How do I hook the amp up with the dual inputs?Like do I need a distrobution block for both power and ground or do I just run both power/ground inputs to the power/ground inputs on my rear battery or what?My second question is about adding a 3rd battery.Ive been searching the forum and I think I have to just run + to + and then - to - on the rear batteries right?Do I need a fuse when connecting the + to the other + on the rear batteries?I have a 220amp power bastards alternator so im thinking between that and a 3rd battery…

hey guys i just drove back from work (i usually take the train) i was listening to my music the whole way home with the volume on 21 for almost 2 hours by the time i got home my sub was cutting in and out and when i got home the lcd screen on the amp said "hot " "77.9" degrees Celsius ( i knew it was before i looked) i know that my gains are not high, is that normal cause of the long duration? my stereo is an alpine cdx 9884 i believe goes to 35 max volume and my amp is a alpine mrd -m1005. what do you think guys? thanks again Billy

Ok i am in the need of a new alternator for my truck. The stock one that i have is a 65 amp model. My future plans are 2 10" or 12" icons, and 2 1000 sundowns, or 1 1500 soundown. I am planning on getting my alt rebuilt to 150 amps, or get a 200 amp powermaster. I'll be running between 2 and 4 batteries in my bed box(Deka Intimidator Battery's for now). Ill be running atleast one run of 1/0 or 2/0 to each battery in the back (maybe overkill, but i dont want there to be a big a drop in the voltage). I have talked to a couple of mechanics and they all say that if i upgrade my alternator to that many amps that i will be running the chance of catching my truck on fire due…

So I in the market in buying a 4 channel amp I need about 100 rms per channel going cheap on the amp crunch or MB quart. But my question was if i buy the amp i can use 2 channels for my front stage and can I leave the other 2 for a sub? And most amps are only bridgeable at 4 ohms so this means it is 20 ohms each channel? And my sub is a 4 ohm DVC so if i wire it 2 2ohms it going to be at 1 ohm? So what I'm saying is will I be able to run a front stage and a sub together?

The other day I was just minding my own business, coming home from work, and all of a sudden my car's mids and highs just stop, and my car fills with smoke. Now I'm out a four channel, and the outputs on my deck burnt up, so I JUST have bass to listen to for the time being. :l Anyways, I just need a two channel to run my Type R 6.5 components up front, so they can keep up with my fifteens Previous products that you have used: Blaupunkt 470 is the only Fourchannel I've ever used. Budgetary constraints: Somewhere around $400 max. Vehicle which the equipment will be used in: 2001 Jetta, only powering one set of components. Musical preferences: Dubstep and Rap. System goals:…

Got my DIYMA 8ga today. I bought two rolls with the 50% off coupon. It took about a week to get. Which honestly surprised me because I know they sold a bunch of when they started the sale. This is my second transaction with DIYMA.com Both have gone smoothly. My likes of the wire: It's silver tinned CCA(great for corrosion resistance) Of course over sized. Its nice and flexy. It's packaged well. My only dislike is how loose the is in the jacket. But this is similar to knu wire, AT ect. So it's kind of the norm now. I just prefer tight windings like in the stinger HPM and kicker hyperflex. On to the pictures. I lost my cheap calipers.... The stinger 4a looks kinda sm…

  16. I've had my KD-ADV6160 for about 2 years now, and havn't had any problems with it, it's a dvd player and in my last truck I did heavy offroading and could hardly skip it, and I mean getting all 4 tires 2 feet in the air and not having it skip when I landed... my buddy and I swear by these decks and I recommend them to anyone wanting a GOOD decent priced dvd player. their cd/mp3 players are equally good imo, my buddy had one in his F150 that he totaled for about a year, and never had a problem with it. when he ran over a ford focus with his truck, it skipped a little but went right back on and both cars were totaled, he went up over it lol. these are a good lasting deck im…

In the coming weeks, I'm going to need to install: MB Quart 5.25 component set, Orion 8002, Orion 1200D, and ReSX 15" into a Mazda 6. For anyone that has seen the stock HU on the 6, You'll know that I'm NOT replacing it. I'm not gonna cut and glass a new console cover for just a HU, not too mention that we would lose functionality of a in dash LCD display (showing ambient temp, radio station / disc info), as well as inset steering wheel controls. To top it off, this car belongs to somone who cares very little about the SQ & control gains of a nice aftermarket HU. Plan is to tap the rear door speaker leads and run them into an EQ/Xover preamp. I'd rather have a EQ/X…

ok so today me and my friend were taking out his back seat of his z71 to make a new box and he accidently moved his amp when we were pulling out his old box and there was a spark from the power and ground wires touching, so we moved them apart and didnt pay any attetion, but when we put the 15 back in and hooked it up his amp wouldnt come on, buyt the radio did, so we turned the truck off and re-connected the power and ground to make sure and now neither the amp or head unit will work, anyone might have an idea to what the hell is wrong with this thing, o and the head unit and amp arent using the same power wire, but they are connected with a remote wire

I will be needing to purchase either a 160 amp alt. or a 8-20 fared cap. eventually both. I have a voltage drop problem. My current alternator is only 80 amps. my amp , I think has 4 20 amp fuses, its a soundstream tr880/2. My headlights dim quite a bit. Would a 8 or 20 fared cap fix the problem well enough to forget an alternator. I can get a 20 fared soundstream cap on ebay for $169 new, $129 for the 8. Or should I go with the 160 amp alt. Which would be more effective. Most people I've seen have only a 1.5, 2, or the biggest I've seen in a car was a 4 fared. What do you know or think? This guy at a audio shop told me that if I were to replace all the major ground wire…
