I recently got a redtop from a friend. It had been sitting up for a good while and was reading 7 volts. So I put my charger on it @ 2amps for 3 days. Now the battery reads 14 volts when I take the charger off. All good right? But when I go to try it out and put it in my car, it wont crank it. So I let it charge some more, and same thing. Battery is fine until you put a load on it. Im assuming its bad, but I wanna make sure, so here this thread is. Hate to waste a battery like that.

I ordered 1 guage wire and it should be in soon. I have 8guage running to my 2channel now that was drilled through my firewall. Is there any other ways to get such a large wire through? Id rather not put that big of a hole in my vehicle. What are my options? As always all help is very much appreciated

Well on my way to class i smelt something odd... thought it was the dump i was driving past. i pull in to CSN and i see smoke go by my face... so i turn around and my whole trunk is in smoke.... now aparently my ground was bad (pops said too much current). ran 2 amps into 1 ground, just tapped into one amp ground to get them both going (Ground was VERY HOT when the smoke appeared). So i went to Lowes and picked up some 1 gauge and it dont fit in my amp terminal. so i grabed some 2 gauge... FITS... yet the wire is VERY stiff and i cannot find any Ring Lug Connections for 2 gauge so i grabed some bolt connector things.... yet it does not give me a secure connection and i wi…

So i installed the radio about 2-3 months ago now and have loved everything about it. then, on December 29th i was driving downtown and my faceplate died. I still had music but i had no control over anything. Volume didn't work, seek, station change, cd eject, AND the remote didn't do shit either. I've been going back and forth between buying amps and i cant decide which one i should go for. I'm looking at either getting a refurbished Rockford t30001bd or a refurbished Autotek mean machine 4000.1D. Got my DIYMA 8ga today. I bought two rolls with the 50% off coupon. It took about a week to get. Which honestly surprised me because I know they sold a bunch of when they started the sale. This is my second transaction with DIYMA.com Both have gone smoothly. My likes of the wire: It's silver tinned CCA(great for corrosion resistance) Of course over sized. Its nice and flexy. It's packaged well. My only dislike is how loose the is in the jacket. But this is similar to knu wire, AT ect. So it's kind of the norm now. i've got a crossfire vr2000d thats supposedly been modded to be .5 ohm stable and handle high voltage. it has 2 hookups each for power, remote, and ground. these all need to be hooked up right? how can i test the amp beforehand to see if i can run it daily at 1 ohm? it should do around 2800x1 @ 1 ohm, and i'll be using 1800-2kw of that for my 12's, so it wont be running full tilt but about 2/3. anything else i need to know before firing up this beast?

if im wrong feel free to help in anyway. i assume i would need to upgrade my alternator, just a givin. then add about 3-4 batteries that output that voltage while using a device that seperates the batteries in the back from the one under the hood, but also charges the batteries in the rear. of course whole car can not be ran anything more than 14 volts on a 12 volt system(14.4 was the most i seen but i could be wrong) so the battery under the hood would be different than the one's in the rear. and could anyone fill me in about the missing link module, i know its not good to charge the batteries on 15.4 volts but i think it has a button to switch between from 15.4 to 14.4,…

i have a 10" RL-i D4 on the way, now i'm trying to choose and amp. goals were... 1: no more than $250 with shipping tacked on. would like to make it less if i could, but if the choice means paying that much than so be it. 2: a minimum of 500rms at 2ohm. sub will be in a optimum recommend size sealed box which i believe was .65 cu.ft. i have done lot of searching and reading reviews and posts with people giving their opinions, not only here, but other places. i have it down to these choices. I need an amp that puts out 40-80x2 for my mb quart components. My budget is around 100. I've seen some cheap clarion amps on ebay. Do you guys have any suggestions? Anyone here ever pair an old Xtant 121m with a DCON? I've got this setup, and I know I can go much louder if I like, but then the bass overtakes everything else. Then again, my door speakers are whatever crap Nissan puts in their stock Rogues, and are probably not strong enough to properly pair with the sub. It just feels like my old MTX 4500 and the MTX monoblock hit harder. Not more accurately, just harder. Perhaps it is also the car's fault. I drove a 2003 RAV4 (much smaller than current RAV4s), and now I drive a Rogue, which is bigger than my RAV. I have a 4 groove belt on my lancer and I've been told buy a HO Alt dealer that If I chose a 200 amp unit I would experience belt slip. Does anyone here have a 200 amp alt or higher on a 4 groove belt? If so, does the belt slip on you? I was informed that 150 amp unit would work fine. My stock alt is 85 amperes. I'll be running a Sundown 2000D plus a component amp (undecided which one). Would 150 amp unit and a PowerMaster D3100 + front battery be sufficient power for me?

As the title states im looking for a new digital multimeter for a few reasons. I was looking on amazon and i see they have them ranging anywhere from $5 all the way to $200. I dont really know the difference one would have over another but im willing to spend anywhere from $10-$25 as its just for a few purposes here and there. If anyone has any options on a good decent DMM feel free to post them here as it may also help people in the future to decide which ones to get. Thanks in advance

I let it sit for a bit and I guess from what I read online that if it gets a little dust on or in it. The cd player doesn't eject cds. There is a disk in there that plays fine. It can't eject it though. How would I fix this?

So what are the benefits of a line driver? I have a Clarion VRX755VD w/ 2volt preouts. With the gains set at 3/4 of the way up I still have to turn the deck's subwoofer gain setting to +3. If I don't turn the deck gain to +3 then the subs won't "max out", even when I reach full volume on the HU. Would a line driver solve this problem? I just don't feel safe turning the gain on the amp all the way up.
