YO, I am getting ready to set up a dual alt in my 2001 chevy astro van but the last few days alone it has been 90+ degrees so i am very indifferent about getting rid of my A/C if anyone knows of anyone that was able to keep A/C and run multiple alts please share. I am willing to get rid of my belt driven fan and go electric as well as add cold air intake to free up space in front of the belt and pulley area if anyone knows a way to Fab up something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey guys, I'm plannig on running 1 Sundown Audio 3000 to either a 1 15" OR 1 18" FI BTL. What do I need to power this bad boy?? hah. I already did the research and I can get my hands on a 250amp h/o alt. Now the bad part is that im running this in A VW Golf so the space is minimal and going to be very tight for this build. I dont plan on doing competitions, its more for a daily car. Any idea what I need? I'm definately swapping out my primary battery (stock)...anything else? Cheers, Andrew

I've been considering getting a new sub amp, mainly looking to switch to class D for the increased efficiency. I'm currently running a Rubicon 702 on my sub and a 100w amp on my highs, and my lights dim at night when driven hard. My final system will consist of about double that much power, so I'm looking to switch my sub amp to something more efficient since I don't want to do any electrical upgrades other than upgrade the battery. I'm looking for something that'll do ~700-800w into 4ohm, 1200w+ into 2ohm, and being 1ohm stable would be nice just to keep my sub options open in the future. Had my eye on a RF T10001bd since I've seen some pretty insanely high efficiency…

I have always seen to use a 50-60hz sine wave note when setting gains with a DMM. And this is what I did, I downloaded a 50hz and 45hz note from realmofexcursion.com and went to set my gains. The number I was aiming for was 34 volts, and I did it first with the 50hz, and reached 34 volts. But then, out of curiosity I played the 45hz tone and the output voltage went way up. Like around 45 volts. I was not expecting this jump. I always thought the voltage would be higher in the 50-60hz range?

Hey I have a crappy voltmeter from an autoparts store locally that my friend hooked up a year ago to who knows where in the front of the car, I think to a fuse for power just so i have an idea of my voltage.. But I am about to purchase a new stinger voltmeter as I am about to add a new Kinetik hc1400 up front and decided I want a more accurate reading of voltage for my Sundown amp. I was just wondering how you guys wire these up to get a good readout of the voltage? (I guess at the amp?.. ) I'm assuming you would want the voltage at the amp to see how much power the amp is actually getting?.. correct me if im wrong about what voltage i want to read.. so basically I was j…

I just secured a 100.4 and 125.2 for an awesome deal and had a few questions, basically to solidify my purchase decision. I was hoping to use the 100.4 for an active front stage 2 way comps. Use 125.2 to run a sa8 in a .75 ported box. I feel the amps are up to those tasks without a secondary processor for the comps and the single 8 should be healthy on the 125.2 @ 2 ohms. Feedback, and suggestions on comp sets and headunits would be welcome as I'm still juggling a few ideas around. Thanks Lymen

No higher end, high output alternator manufacturers make a alt to fit my car even trying to retrofit isn't possible. I do have a 220 from powerbastards that utilizes a stock casing and after a month my battery light started coming on. But I think I have some good news. After taking it to a specialist It does 220 like PB says but the voltage regulator went bad but everything else is working fine and he'll replace the regulator and says there shouldn't be a problem anymore in fact the build (constuction) of the alt was good even the ratio of windings (voltage) vs diameter (current/amps) was ideal. The one issue with the regulator was amp draw between the rotor and what the …

Hi everyone, I have a 1993 lexus gs300. I'm relocating the battery to the trunk, purchasing a 200amp alternator, and doing a big 3 upgrade. I'm running two amplifiers (jl 1000/1 and a 300/4). So I figured at the least I'm going to need zero gauge coming back to the battery. Can someone here please advise me the correct way to run the positive wires? I was planning on running a positive 1/0 from battery to alternator and split it from there to the fuse box and starter. I'm trying to do this right while my engine is outside of the car so I do not encounter any electrical issues down the road.

Hey guys well I want to clean up the wiring behind my head unit a little bit. I have the aswc1 for steering wheel controls, antenna adapter which has a power wire, and the remote wire from my amp. All this is tied into the head units wiring harness. Is this too much on the factory harness? Should I run some additional wires, just looking for some opinions here?

I guess i've decided to get a new battery, and need to know what is adequate and still cheap for my system... I have a clarion 1500 watt amp and stock battery under the hood in a 2000 honda accord. If I run a second battery to the trunk is a kinetik hc800 enough to get the job done(stay above at least 11v) or do I need more and who makes the best cheap batteries? My local shop has a used stinger sp1700 out of their demo van for only 200, that may be the way to go but im hoping to spend less if possible Please and thanks for replies

Ok i am in the need of a new alternator for my truck. The stock one that i have is a 65 amp model. My future plans are 2 10" or 12" icons, and 2 1000 sundowns, or 1 1500 soundown. I am planning on getting my alt rebuilt to 150 amps, or get a 200 amp powermaster. I'll be running between 2 and 4 batteries in my bed box(Deka Intimidator Battery's for now). Ill be running atleast one run of 1/0 or 2/0 to each battery in the back (maybe overkill, but i dont want there to be a big a drop in the voltage). I have talked to a couple of mechanics and they all say that if i upgrade my alternator to that many amps that i will be running the chance of catching my truck on fire due…

I want to install a processor, Have seen the 701 in action(didnt get much play time tho). I have not been able to screw around with a 360. Does anybody have any experience with these two units? I was leaning towards the alpine, mainly for the digital input. Is the digital that important, or not? Thanks for any help

Going to be running an alpine pdx-f6 (60amp fuses), and alpine pcx-m6 (80amp fuses). Would 0ga just be over kill? These are going in the rear of a crew cab colorado and splitting at a distribution block. So it will be ether 0ga in and 2 4ga out or 4ga in and 2 4ga out. Thanks

Hi, I am selling my 4 channels Boston amp. I can make a good deal with it, and I don't use rear speakers no more ! I need a small (in size) 2 ch amp to power my Focal 165 KP. I need about 2 * 100 watts rms or even less, and my head unit is good enough, so I don't need lots of features on the amp. The problem is the budget : I want a really cheap amp! But I want a brand new one. The Sundown 125.2 would be good, and would match the sub amp (a saz1000), but I would like it cheaper. I saw a Cadence Xa 175.2 xenith series at Powermax electronics, it looks good ! There is an entry level Rockford the R 300-4 (I could bridge it) that seems good too.(Powermax electronics) One poi…
