Now that the "Digital Conversion" has happened, can I receive the 10 or so digital channels in the car? I've see some of the digital converter boxes that run on 12 volts. What I"m really trying to get at is "How well can you receive the signal while in motion?" . I've seen it used for things like tailgating, where the vehicle is stationary. If possible I wanna be able to watch the local news on my way home from work or catch the Simpsons, etc.

So i just got a 200 watt 2 channel and some comps. I already have a mono amp and some 12s. The sub amp turns on when the key is in the on position. You can't hear it in the acc position. When I wire my comps and the new amp, will I be able to listen to the radio with the key in the acc position? I usually like to listen to the radio on my lunch break, etc. Will I just have to turn the key to the on position for that?

Ok, I'm looking to put a new H/U in. Here are my parameters: -nav built in bluetooth built in -ipod control -dvd -double din -5.8" or bigger screen -sub pre outs Right now, I'm leaning towards the Pioneer Premier f90bt. A friend of mine has one and I'm really impressed with it. I can find it for about $650 new and $475 refurb on Ebay(would you guys trust a refurb???) The only thing I don't like about the unit is the cd slot. Its petty, but I'm used to flipdowns where the slot is behind the face. I think it looks a little sleeker, plus you get an extra inch or so of screen. Opinions on this unit? Anybody have any suggestions for similar units, preferably around the same pr…

I'm wondering, how would I wire my front door speakers to a 2-channel amp? Do I just run them like I'd run subs?

Well let me first start off by saying, hello everyone! I know I don't frequent any of the forums very often anymore and I apologize deeply. <3's you all. Anyways, my dad came up to me the other day and had a car audio question! I was in complete shock and happy at the same time. It was great to hear him finally wanting something for the car my mom drives. And then it was a question about an in dash screen! Ok I know how forums go so please let me make this very clear and upfront. The two decks I'm about to have you guys compare are the ONLY OPTIONS available for debate. Please do not mention any other decks out there as in, "well this would be better." My dad…

Hey guys, i was looking into batteries for the near future because my stock one just isnt really doing it for me right now. The well known XS brand stuck out to me, and i saw that their batteries have beastly current output, but i was also looking at Optima batteries, and i wasn't sure which is the better of the two. XS has more output for current, but Optima has a "gel layered top", whatever the hell that means. I'm leaning toward XS but if anyone can explain to me the pros and cons of each battery, and whatever the heck gel layered top means, it would greatly be appreciated!

Is there a way to wake up both amps and have them power on instead of having to wire both with the (don't remember name) "wake up wire" ? I looked on the back of my cd player and it doesn't look like there's a spot to put it. But there is a slot for "sub out:" on it hat looks like its just a rca cable connection....hrmmm

Hello, I have a bad noise only when I play with the engine running. I was trying to unhook the sub from the amp, but I start to unscrew it with the sound playing ! my bad Something went wrong, I think the tool touched something wrong and I suddenly heard a bad "electric" noise. Now, when my system play withe engine off : no problem! Engine on : I can hear a sort of alternator noise if I don't crank it up. I can hear the noise of the direction lights in the front speakers! If I take off the rca's': no noise. I checked the grounds: no problem. I tried other rca's : same noise. It seems that the problem is coming from the hu : what do you think about that? I did not try…

I plan on buying a HDC318 dual 2ohm with alum coil & upgraded spider pack and Im giving 4k to the sub The AQ puts out 3500rms @1ohm And the 4k2d puts out 4200rms @2ohms @ 12.8volts @ 5000+wrms @2ohms @ 13.8volts. So what amp would be better and more efficent between a aq3500d and a stetsom 4k2d?

I am about to start building my system in my ex cab toyota truck. I am not sure if I am going with 2 Fi Q15's or 2 BL15's, fully loaded yet. But I need a amp that puts out around 1000 watts RMS at 1 ohm for around $360. So far I have been looking at these: Hifonics 2600W for around $350 AudioQue AQ2200D for $390 Which one of these should I get or is there any other amp out there in this price range that might be better?

Anyone familiar with these amps? I have 3 of them and I am trying to figure out what the switch on the bottom actually does. It has an "H" and "L" which I thought would be high/low pass filter, but it doesn't seem to make an audible difference. Also, Is the Remote and ACC relay on these amps known to go bad?

So, after doin some lookin at line drivers, it seems they are worthless to use if the goal is to achieve higher SPL for burps but... i have another goal. When i do bassrace or driveby, or longterm musical playback at non-sanctioned shows, i run in a fully clipped signal because my 7,000w still isnt enough for the subs i'm running... I have a 4v preout ran to 2 sub amps and 1 Sundown 100.4. I was curious if i were to ever add a line driver and boost the signal up a little bit(amps accept up to 8v) if i could lower the gain in hopes to prevent the coils from heating up as quick? I can burp all day long and the coils stay cool but when i run in bassrace, etc, the coils tend …
