I'm currently installing a rather large system in my car, and using an alpine ida-x001 as the main unit. Only problem is the unit does not have a CD player, and I really don't wanna deal with a seperate CD changer to hook up to it. i have another alpine deck with tilt, the CDA- 9851. Not sure if i would need some sort of switch-board for all the RCA-s or not. I would like to be able to use either deck and still have full usability of every part of the system. So having both decks would def. be ideal.

Only thing i can think of is shaving them down.. Then i saw another thread were it was lots of + runs and only 1 - run , which seems pointless if the power has to flow in and out.

Hey guys, new to the forum. I'm working on a project right now, and I'm in need of some information on relays. From what I have seen, though i may be wrong, a generic relay that can just handle, say, .3-2v, is not suitable for line level audio because of signal degredation. Is this true, and if so, are there any relays out there that can handle line level audio without perceptable loss in quality? What I'm looking to set up is an add-on to my OnStar interface. I want to set up a 6-channel relay interface box with a two-channel input from the OnStar interface and a 6-channel input from my headunit, then 6-channel output going to the amps. Normally, it would come from the …

Working on buddys stereo today in his jeep. Already had 3amps hooked up and everything was working perfectly fine. Was installing a fourth amp for his bullet tweeters. After wiring everything up and splitting the remote wire again to run a strand to the tweeter amp and turned the car on and none of the amps powered up...... Anybody ever encounter this problem or has any advice of what the issue is. Fuses are all good double checked remote wiring at amps and hu. Just weird never had such a thing happened to me before with a simple amp instal nor have i ever needed 4amps either. Very much appreciate your input.

Anyway all i have right now is a Soundstream XTA600.2 600 Watts RMS and my Oz Audio Matrix Elite 15 and its dimming even with that. I have been looking around and i cant find that many alternators for my car i had been recommended to call ohiogen to ask? my lights have been dimming when idling especially when the air is on at the same time, i have a 1995 dodge stealth and they alternators are weak on them and i believe i even have the upgraded 140 amp ......it could be the 110 amp thought im not sure, but i was told that i couldn't go past a 140 amp that it probably cant be wound more than that.... I saw this by powerbastards http://powerbastards.com/proddetail.asp?pro…

I'm now looking to upgrade to 1/0 wire in my truck. I've been told to use reducers to get the wire down to 4 gauge in my amp. Why should I use these on pure ofc wire when Idk what the reducer is made of? Why not just trim the wire down the fit snuggly in the 4 gauge inputs?? Since one reduced on knukonceptz is like 4 bucks. Pretty steal for somethin I don't see totally necessary. Is it possible the reducer would hinder power flow as opposed to just trimming?? Oppinions on recuders?

How would you figure this out? Ac/dc / ac/dc? Running a mmats D300hc in a 2 cu. Sealed enclosure. Not supposed to run the mmats below 1 for daily driving, so want to know how I'm doing so, is this the cheater amp its made to be? Drawing lots of current lol, voltage drop. Don't want to dmg the amp, rewiring it to 4 and making a larger ported I guess.

Ok, I am revamping an old mobile sound system in my 2000 jeep Cherokee. It will consist of... deh 80prs ?dsp? ? 4-6 ch? amp F.ch-exodus anarchy 6.5"x2 seas 1"27tbfgc x2 Back- 8"usher 8945p x2 possible Rear fill w/saz 125.2. - 5.25" peerless hds exclusive x2. saz1500.1d single 12" Xcon d2. Lots of deadener and foam. My questions are: 1: I'm going to run the new deh-80prs, which has a 3 way active xover internally. So, do I still need to run a dsp, ms8, bit one etc... To run my fronts as active? 2: If I do this, can I also run a 5 ch. To run front 2 way active, and then, off of sub ch, run my mids in rear passenger doors. I know there aren't spots designated there, b…

I just received my SSA Icon D2 sub today after a longgg wait, between the box, and then the sub. So I am anxious to get everything installed, but I don't want to make any mistakes. I've been looking at this wiring diagram to wire it in parallel to 1ohm. And then from the manual I am planning on wiring it like the top picture. I'm a little confused by the diagram in the manual, I can just connect to 1 positive and 1 negative, right? I will set the gains using the stickied tutorial. What should the subsonic filter and LPF be set at? Are these lower and upper cutoffs for what frequencies my subwoofer will play? Bass boost and phase should be set at zero, correct? Are …

I have a 2003 mustang and I'm planning on buying an 12" Fi Q with the BP power option, a RF T1500-1, and a RF T600-4 to power the four corners. My car is 100% stock and i was wondering if my 105 Amp alternator and the big 3 fix would be enough to power all this. If not what should I do. Oh and why is it people prefer batteries to capacitors? Thanks, Matt *Edit* The alternator is 105-110 Amps. Not that it makes much of a difference...

hi, in my last attempt to rule out installation problem i rewired my whole system again plus i added a ground run and i still having this problem: ok, if i have my eq on my headunit set on flat and turn everything off like loud and my highpass i have to have my gains all the way up to even get 20 volts coming out of it( rated for 100 rms @ 4 ohms) and also if i have my eq set to anything but flat and the gains are not all the way down the amp goes into protection mode at 3/4 volume. and i mean all the way down. like i had one just slightly up and it goes into protection mode and also it does not seem to get as loud as it did before. now i don't have an o scope or know any…

Im looking for a component set. with the addition of this 18" BTL its damn near impossible to hear high end over the bass this thing outputs.. I went to some stereo shops to see some products up close.. saw a set of the Fosgate power 6.5's.. has the driver, tweeter and crossover network.. price in store is crazy, but found the same set on the internet alot cheaper. Im concerned how they hook up as ive never had a pair of components before. Do you just use 1 channel of your amp per door.. Let me explain what i mean more.. go here My link see how the crossover box has 2 inputs and 2 outputs.. i just got done running all new wire to each door to a 4 ch amp.. will i have to c…

RMS Power Range: 100-450w (225w per voice coil) Peak Power Range: 900w Impedance: 4 ohms Sensitivity: 94.3 dB at 2.83 volts, 87.2 dB at 1 volt Frequency Response: 20 - 350 Hz Min. sealed box volume: 1.00 cu. ft. Min. ported box volume: 2.00 cu. ft. Mounting depth: 7-3/8" I picked these up because they're CHEAP & require a small enclosure; (I want to keep max trunk space.) amp cuts out when i: hit brake pedal OR turn on electric fans OR turn on compressor OR turn on a/c OR turn volume to loud (with gain turned almost all the way down and/or set properly) i have a red top under hood, a 280 amp alt., big 3, and kinetik 2400 running a hk4000d (i know these are power hungry, but not that much?) to a 18" fi btl(full loaded), all 1/0 gauge, knukonceptz rca's, jensen in-dash(vm9412) thought it was rca's, changed them, still does it so its either headunit rca signal(volts) or the amp any help appreciated, been having problem awhile and just want to get it figured out!
