I have a pair of Alpine Type-R's dual 4 ohm version. I currently have them parallel to a 2 ohm load at the amp. I fear as though my amp sucks (i know this for a fact its a Volfenhag). My question to the amp gurus is what amp i should use for the pair. I could always parallel the remaining wires to a 1 ohm load to a mono block. Wondering what kind of amp would be the best. As the title states im looking for a new digital multimeter for a few reasons. I was looking on amazon and i see they have them ranging anywhere from $5 all the way to $200. I dont really know the difference one would have over another but im willing to spend anywhere from $10-$25 as its just for a few purposes here and there. If anyone has any options on a good decent DMM feel free to post them here as it may also help people in the future to decide which ones to get. Thanks in advance

I'm looking for a good 600 - 700 watt amp. Any recommendations? It'll be to power a pair of Audiopulse Epic 12s. Impediance doesn't matter. Just needs to be able to power a pair of Epic 12s. As for budget, I could spend up to 400.

  7. Whats going on guys, I'm facing a little dilemma. About a month ago I ordered two SSA Xcon 12's, I was planning on running them on my Audiopipe APCL3000 monoblock, but from what I hear these things are comfortable at a little above their rated power handling (1750 rms each), so I decided that I was going to only used the Audiopipe 3000 to break the subs in, then I will be upgrading to a bigger amp (maybe a 4000-5000 watt monoblock). I ordered my subs at DVC 2ohm so that I could wire them both in series up to 4ohm, then wire the subs together in parallel to give my Audiopipe amp a 2 ohm load, because that's where its stable and makes its power at. But now I can't find an…

  10. Hi guys, my current amp is starting to give me some issues (well I think it is). It is an option audio OA1200 powering a Fi Q12 at 1ohm, and I have had it for about 5 years now but I don't think it's dealing too well with a 1ohm load (it has been running at 2ohms till now when I got the Q). When I initially hooked everything up I set the gains using my oscilloscope, the HU did not clip even at full volume, and the amp started clipping at ~1/3 turn using both a 60hz and 30hz sine wave. Anyway, a couple of weeks later I noticed the sub was getting hot, which should not really happen on 1200w,so i decided to inspect the system again. I checked my 4 channel amp, and that was …

Ok so i had an AVIC-D3 while back. I liked it i like the Navi more than anything else. Barely watched DVDs on it. And I'm selling my CDA-9887 now. SO its time for a new headunit, preferably double-din. So heres my question. Whats a good Double-Din. I was eyeing the AVIC-Z2 or Z3 but its just too expensive. I've been looking at eclipse and panasonic. Even clarion for a little while but not anymore. Also Alpine has the new IVA-W505 which looks pretty sexy. So if anyone has an idea or suggestion lemme know. Looking for ease of use, good looks, and good navi. excellent sound.

Hey all! I was wondering your guy's opinion on the best double dinn dvd/cd player with a good customizable EQ, HPF, and LPF (would consider a single with a pop out screen). Any input would be greatly appreciated!

  15. I currently have a CDA-9855, but the CD player is starting to skip rather easily. I want to know what would be some good HUs. I'd like it to have HPFs and a LPF with adjustable slopes,2 way and 3 way xovers, graphic eq and/or parametric eq, time correction, full speed ipod/iphone capability. I think the 9887 is nice but does anyone have experience with them as well as "imprint"? Thanks

I am capping it a ~$200, so a $220 would be an option but thats at the most. I am mostly considering the HC800, but was wondering if any of the Stinger batteries are better.

Hi guys, I have recently been saved by a cheap voltmeter plugged into the cig-lighter 12v input. It showed me I was loosing voltage badly. I found something was burning under the hood. The plastic on the wire coming from the positive post on the battery to the alt was bad, and the cooper was touching a metal part. I took it off, and now everything is ok. The alternator works as usual. But now I want a better voltmeter. This one is 8 years old ! I want something small enough to fit anywhere. I won't cut anything in the dash to have it mounted, so I liked the cig lighter plug a lot. Which model do you run ? And second question : if it's…
