Hey guys. So I am going to be running 2 Crunch GP3000D's here in the near future and I am wondering what the benefit of strapping the amps vs. running one amp to a pair of subs? My subs are/will be dual 1 ohm coils so I can wire each sub to 2ohm and let the amp take it to a 1 ohm final load or I can strap the amps and wire all the subs to 2ohm final load. IMO, It would be easier to wire the subs to 2ohm and then run wire from 2 subs in to one amp and repeat for the other subs and amp. Since I have never strapped amps, I am curious what the benefit would be and would it be worth the extra work to try and multiple wires to the sub terminals.

So I got my JL 500/1 for my sub setup Friday, didn't have time to install it til today... One issue... The amp doesn't seem to kick in until I hit about 50% of max on my Pioneer HU.. I know it is not the HU because it was beatin' in the morning with my old setup (Kenwood).. Two things happened when doing the "swap" of amplifiers... 1. Apparently one of the ring terminals on the wiring was shitty, and came out... 2. I replaced the terminal with a new one I bought at BestBuy just so I could get it done... When installing this onto the capacitor that was already in my car I accidentally touched the wire to both ends... Spark and sizzle but everything seemed ok... Now again..…

I recently swapped out my Pioneer DEH-P5900iB for an Alpine IDA-X001. I absolutely love the usability of the unit, but it lacks the equalizer features of the Pioneer. I'm considering getting either an AudioControl EQL or MA MA15EQX for my front stage. It would be mounted on my sub box, not a dash model. Any recommendations? Thanks, -fp

My 1/0 gauge just came in and I was wanting to get started on my Big 3 upgrade. Just wanted to run it by you guys real quick to make sure I had everything correct. First off I read not to just crimp these wires but to solder them as well because it makes a much better connection. (Any tips on soldering? This will be my first time.) I watched a few videos on youtube and it seemed fairly easy but any tips will help. But I am going to run 0 gauge from the neg. of my battery to the chassis of my car. Then from the positive of my battery to the alt. I seen a few people put fuses in between this run.. Is that necessary to fuse between pos. of batt and alt? Then finally …

  10. My system was finally working right all together. I was on my way to my apartment (3 hr drive), so I had turned the bass really low so it wouldn't knock my radar detector off the glass. I was just driving along and heard a loud bass hit all of a sudden. It was really weird, kuz the bass was pretty much to where I couldn't even hear it and I guess I didn't notice kuz i had turned it down alot. So the bass hit really hard, then stopped. It did this about 2-3 times, just really odd sounds and extremely loud...like not going with the music that was playing and far far louder than I had the bass turned up. Anyway, I got home to check it out. I can turn the subwoofers OFF…

well i got my old alpine cda-9827 back and decided to use it in my tundra. took the factory unit out and saw there was a small external amp. after looking around i saw that i needed the Metra 70-8113 wiring harness to keep the factory amp in there. its got the rca cables for front and rear speakers. super easy to wire and install everything. after i got everything wired up i turn the key, but dont start the truck, and it sounded great. way better than the factory unit. so i put everything back in the dash and the dash piece back in and screw it back on and listen for a bit more. later on i need to go somewhere so i get in and start my truck and there is a buzzing sou…

It seems like Alpine is the brand of choice for head units. I has some major issues with an Alpine head unit in the past. The unit would work a few weeks then would start acting up where the display would be blank but the unit would power on or if the display was visible it look to be a cross between russian and korean text. Alpine replaced the unit under warranty 4 times. When the unit failed the 5th time it was finally out of warranty and got replaced. So my views on Alpine are tainted and I swore I would never own another of their products. So I bought a new 08 Mazda Mx-5 Miata a little less than a month ago and the stock system has got to go. Since space is a majo…

I have 8guage kicker ofc wiring kit in my truck. Right now its powering one powerbass asa 400.2 subwoofer amp that puts 400 rms. I have an old amp that i want to put on my front door speakers that is 55x2 rms. Would my 8 guage wire be enough for that also? Or do i need to get another wiring kit to be safe? Thankyou. Oh and is there any advice for wiring my front doors? I want both amps in the back of thetruck. Do i run wires from where the factory wires are to the amp for high level input then another back to the doors? Or do i take the wire out of the door and then to the amp And to the doors? Thanks for any help.

So I hooked back up my amplifier today and when I turned the headunit on and played some music I realized that no bass was coming from my subwoofer and my amp was in protect mode. I also noticed that my lights would flicker and dim and why voltage dropped to like 12 volts. Any suggestions to what the problem may be?

Well I have been looking around a lot for different decks and wondering which ones are the best for what I am willing to pay. I would like one of those that have a touch screen and actually come out of the dash, but it is not necessity. The more reviews I read on them any of them under 1000$ are cheap and break often. My budget for one of these seems to be no more than 500$. I would like blue tooth for my cell phone, my cars computer has the ability to see what bands /songs are playing on fm radio (no idea what its called), and have the capability of iPod usage (I have an iPod touch). Anybody know what I should be looking at off the bat? I have been looking at a lot of cr…

Ive read several different things about this amplifier throughout this forum. Some people say its a good amp but only does its power at 2 Ohm.. i goto the actual website and it appears its stable at 1 ohm. let me cut to the chase. Friend needs a budget amp for his Fi Q 12" sub. Found a audiopipe 1500d on craigslist locally that is for sure in the budget. Guy says its hooked up so we can hear it work before purchasing. If this amp isnt 1 ohm stable then its pretty much worthless to us, since the fi Q is a dual 2 ohm sub and were planning on 1 ohm stable here. im going to attach a picture of the amp. If you guys know FOR SURE about these amp's please post, i appreciate it. …

  18. Ok so almost 6 months ago I loaned my car to a friend and when I got it back my subwoofer was not playing. I started a thread on here asking about how to fix it and what not and I never really came to a conclusive answer. I just got a Sundown SAZ-1000D and plugged it in and went to check the output voltage of the amp and even at high volume with the gain pretty high the highest I get is 3.x AC volts. I am getting power to the amp and it turns on without the protect light or anything I checked the DC voltage at the amp, its in order. Now the one place that does not seem to be right are the RCAs. No matter what I do I can't get them to register ANY voltage no matter how lou…

  19. So my amp keeps cutting off the power to my subs. It mainly occurs when I try to get my subs louder. It didn't do this as often a month ago. I think it was after a day of delivering pizza with it bumpin all day, amp got hot and my fuses blew, I believe ever since then it's been acting like a wimp. I'm wondering a few things I have stock electrical system, would the amp protect itself because its supply is inadequate? my subs run 300rms my amp runs 900rms, did I ruin my subs which is causing my amp to protect itself? (that would be awesome, been tryin to swap them out but gotta hurt em first) whatever it is, it keeps randomly protecting itself and when I turn my HU off…

If so how would this be done? Second what are some good 10" touch screen monitors that will work well with a mac mini?

Every site I've looked on says you can't put a double din with out modification. So if anyone has pictures of their build and how they did it that would be great. I don't want to jump into doing it and mess something up. I also don't want to have to pay someone to do something i could probably do on my own. Help!

Alright so my Fi 12 D2 q should be arriving tomorrow. I arleady have my Sundown Saz 1000D. I've been reading as much as I can on here so I just want to make sure I have everything straight. Wiring my sub to 1 ohm I need to take the positive's and run a wire from one to the other andsame for the negatives. Then take a wire from one of the pos and neg's and run them to the amp. I noticed the amp has 2 sets of speakers inputs A & B. I would hook my sub up to one set correct A or b? As for setting up the amp I have a Alpine CDA-9884 it has a subwoofer level 0-15 if I understand this I put the subwoofer level to 15, bass to 0. Take 1000wRms x 1ohm load, Square root of 1…
