i just ordered 2 kicker L7 12s and idk wat amp wat size amp or wire to use any help would be appretiated

the alternator i have is a single wire and does not have a ground connection. it is mounted on 2 bolts that screw in to the engine block. is it alright that i grounded the engine block to chasis instead?

i just installed my rf t8004 and rf t40001bd. For some reason the t40001bd is getting hot even when i have the sub off. I am getting engine noise in both my speakers and subs. Today I disconnected my pos terminal and then while I was driving my mids and highs went crazy on me. Out of no where they started cutting out and started crackling like they were blown and my right mid was blasting a low frequency like a sub even when i turned the music to 0. Now the right mid will only work on and off and now the left mid is doing the same thing. They are barely putting out any sound even at high volumes. Would i need a new battery and alternator to run 1500 watts...i have a rockfor fosgate 250.2 and have it bridged to 2 ohms i'm aware that i'm not suppose to do that but not too concerned about the amp i just need something to push the 10's behind my seat...but i am wanting to run a 1000 watt 1 channel amp to power a 15" Fi Q...please help

ok i really hate to ask this, but how are you able to tell when your amp starts to "clip"? And what exactly does it mean?

well today was the first time i've ever heard about stetson amps. i looked at there site and i will say that have a lot of amps with a lot of power. i was looking at the digital amps. are there rms ratings good? accurate or over rated? under rated? has anyone heard one?

I need an amp for my 15 Icon.It is in a (about)4ft3 ported enclosure.(wired @ 4 Ohms now, but it can change). I am thinking about a Sundown 1000 or 1500, or a Clarion DPX 11500. I did not find a lot of informations about the Clarion, and everybody here loves Sundown. I will probably upgrade to a 15" or 12" Xcon, so I should look for a 1500 watts rms amplifier. What do you guys think? I would like to play at 2 Ohms with the future sub, and at 4 ohms now : so the Clarion looks like the good choice. It seems like very few people have it here. Why? I am ordering 2 RE XXX 6.5c sets. And am planning to use the sundown amp to power it all. Do I use the front or rear rca output on my deck to the amp. One component set in my front doors one in my rear doors. Or does it matter since I will be using the x-over network provided with the comp set.

i know this is a stupid ? lol ... if i have the bass boost off on the amp then will the bass boost knob up that comes w the amp work or is it just worthless?

does anyone have a solution to getting speaker wire through the door "boot" or what ever it's called? i tried for hours and i cant even get it half of the way through!!

sort of a noob question, but just wanna make sure. after having my stuff for sale for 2 months, and no one buying it, i decided to make it work in my truck. im gonna be running the set-up in my sig, and was wondering if it would be safe to mount my amp to my box. there's not really any other good place to put it, so i figured why not. its a sturdy box made out of 3/4 mdf. thanks!

So my amp has been acting up since the day I got it.(Diablo Audio Technologies HellFire 1000.1) The problem is that it plays for a few minutes after I turn on the truck and goes into "Alarm Mode". (If I restart the truck it will come back on for a few minutes as if it had a clock inside telling the amp to only turn on for a few minutes(3 or 5 min.)) At first the ground was a little loose so I tightened it. It still kept on doing it so I bought some Sandpaper to make a nice, clean ground and it still does it. Can someone help me? when tuning an amp without the bass boost on you tune it right before the amp starts to clip ... so if you increase the bass boost wont it make the amp clip or am i missing something?

hey guys. i need some input on what kinetic battery to use in the trunk. i have a stock alternator and my setup will be pushing around 2500watts. i plan on using a yellowtop up front. so my question is how many watts should my kinetic in the trunk be? the power cell calculator on the site says i should use (2) 1400watt power cells. which will be costly to me. any cheaper solutions? do i really need that much? input please and thank you.

hey firstly im new here so hello everyone as the title states i have a problem firstly my set up 0guage from batt to 80a fuse to 10a fuse to head unit and a 2guage to a distro block powering 3 amps (through 4 guage wire) 1 4 channel and 2 2 channels then 4 guage to another distro then 2guage to a hole that used to house a clip for the trim in the side of the boot (metal is thin, maybe this is the problem?). the remote from the HU goes into a 2 channel then piggybacks from there to the other 2 amps. ok noob here and i was thinking i should get a yellow top under the hood, do the big 3, and get a kinetic hc2000. now my question is do i neeed the second batt? i heard that a second batt isnt neccesary if you wont play music with your car off. the yellow top under the hood and big 3 are going to be done for sure though. oh and one more question how many ft of 1/0 wire would i need to do the big 3. i have a 00' honda accord coupe. alternator will be done soon need help on that too but dont want to spend more than 400 on one?
