So I just had a Viper r350 put into my vehicle...I want to add additional sirens. I've seen some 120db ones online for as little as $6... Anyone know if there's a limit to how many I can run off this alarm? I'm thinking 1 in each corner of the vehicle would be nice...

I was looking at Powerbastard's alternators, and they don't have a direct fit for my 1991 Acura Integra....but.... they link me directly to the Fitzall 220+ Alt.... basically it's a universal HO alternator for imports..... I was looking at it, and the bottom foot doesn't look as deep as my stock unit (just looks like I need to get a shorter forged bolt from a hardware store), but other than that looks like it would mount up fine.... they say it's 110A @ idle and full 220A @ 1,200RPM's.... 220A is great, considering a 91 Integra alternator, stock, is 30A ,lol.... I was wondering if anyone has any good feedback on the powerbastards??? I know everyone is gonna shout Iraggi o…

I've decided that I need to address the stock 12 speaker Sony system in my 2010 Fusion Sport. I can't believe that in a top of the line package you are only allotted options to change "treble & bass". I honestly got better sound in my 99 Ranger with a $50 component set and a pair of 6" mids, with a 5 year old Pioneer HU's eq. That being said, I DO use and have decided to retain Sync & Steering wheel controls. The only alterations I have in mind (for now) are signal processing. The amp is plenty for everything above midbass range and the sound can be decent from the speakers. I am adding a small subwoofer / amp combo and associated accessories otherwise. This leave…

At work we have numerous rtas used to test the frequency responses of circuits. This is tested through an osciloscope input. My question is if I were to find a mic that had an osciloscope conenctor at the end of it would the rta work for what I want it to do?

I've got a line on the Massive amps, and wondering if any of you guys have ever used/reviewed them. They've got the DB300B, which is supposedly stable at 1 ohm, and does 950RMS @ 2 ohm - my cost is much lower than the MSRP, wondering how it would compare to a Sundown or similar. http://www.massiveaudio.com/store/db-3000b...1-pr-16220.html

The one I was looking at (9856) doesnt have a remote and well, thats pretty much it. Also, the display kind of sucked. I have been saying ill get new speakers, amp sub, kick panels, etc when I actually own the car. But im only doing the HU once. And it has to be done right. http://cartoys.com/default.cfm/t/Car_Audio...reo/o/InDash_CD Thats the list I have to choose from. What is a good one? I was thinking Alpines, but I dont know, it looks like there are some other good ones. I will NOT be amping any speakers yet. So for the first few months ill be using the power straight frm the HU. That means it has to have good power. Has to have a remote, and have 'loudness' for a su…

Im a noob here but have been around car audio most of my adult life, lookin for a good option to power two sundown e-15 d4 in my sons ride. Have looked into many brands( hifonics, audiopipe,mb quart,American bass). Needs to be close to $200 to stay in his budget, must be power friendly to run off of a yellow top, stock alt, big three done, and four gauge power and ground. I have owned or heard all the amps listed above except the American bass, so I need options and am open to all advise. Thanks

I have a fi bl and a sundown 1500d and lately my sytstem hasnt been playing as loud as usual. it just dont have the edge it usually does. If i had to guess i would save ive lost a full 2 db. its not my voltage cause it stays right around 13.3 a lil wire came loose on my old rca's but i bought some new ones and it STILL sounds the same. What other reasons could be causing this not to play as loud?

hi, i am looking at batteries i am wondering which would be better. kinetic or powermasteror stinger , this is for under the hood and the biggest kinetic i can get is the hc1400 ( because of height) and the biggest powermaster that i can fit is either the PWM-D2400 but if i go with the powermaster would it still be ok to have like the hc2400 in the back or should i go with 2 PWM-D3100 it is going to be a 3k rms system i belive. also i i was looking at stinger's battery too since they are short. my max height is like 8.3" the powermaster's push it then there is the 1400 then stingers are like 7" ( i have to remeasure to see what stinger can fit. also though how big of a b…

Ok I got to thinking the other day about the way I wired my sub to my amp. I am sure this has been discussed before. But I have been unable to locate the answer. If it has I appologize now. The sub is an Alpine SWR-1222D and the amp is a MB Quart Discus 1000.1 Monoblock. The way I have it wired now is in parallel to 1Ohm with one set of wires to the amp on the outer positive and outer negative terminals. According to the manual that is for single svc sub. Is that way ok or should I physically wire each coil straight to the amp. As the amp automatically parallels both sets of terminals which would make this a 1Ohm load as well. Which way is better the way I h…

Well, the used Orion 8004 crapped on me and after trying to pinpoint where the issue was, I decided to scrap it. Noticed the Zapco i-450.4 selling at a local shop for $190USD (on EBay). I know it is a new line, but I'm curious if anyone has used one, or can tell me if the price is decent. Looks to be about what I'm after - 4 channel @75watts RMS, has all the xover bells and whistles which I won't need. Using it for complete active setup. Thanks, Mark

the 2500 has two ground and two power inputs that both need to be filled.. how do i do this? getting a second ground is obviously easy, but how can i run a second power wire? do i just get a distrib block? i have a grand cherokee with a stock 160 amp alt. im gonna run 0 ga instead of the 4 i have now.. how do you think i will do as far as power is concerned? electrical risk? i was thinking about just getting a new battery, is it possible to just hook it up as my start up battery or am i better off to run it to the back.. im trying to save money so i would rather not run it back.

Hi , I will buy a 2500-3000 watts amplifier when I find a good deal. With my 2 amps (Sundown saz1500 and sax 50.4 bridged) I have no voltage drops, no dimming lights. But I know my stock battery will have trouble with a more powerful bass amplifier. I don't want to change that stock battery : it's 2.5 year-old but still very strong ! I did add a 0 ga wire from batt(-) to ground and another 0 ga wire from engine block to batt(-). I can't access the alt, it's under a lot of things ! Here is my question : how bad is it to just add an AGM batt in the back ? Will it hurt my stock batt ? I can have access to Yellowtop, XS, or Kinetic locally. The Yellowtops are the less expens…

I have a Boston acoustics pro 12.5 sub(4 ohms) in custom box at Boston specs (sealed 1” mdf). It is rated at 1200w rms and iam now using a 600w rms(Hertz class D). Although it sounds pretty good, cant help wondering how much difference a 1000-1200w amp would sound compared to the 600w amp. Need advice from people with experience trying different amps with the same sub.
