Is this ok or a no-no? I just added 4 gauge wire in addition to the factory wire(wired it to the same spot and sanded paint off the ground) and replaced the factory battery terminal blocks with stinger ones.

whats up guys and gals....i am installing 2 18" fully loaded btls being pushed by 2 us amps md-3d rated at 2000 dont think power rating for the question matters but oh well..anyway the question i have is how to run the subs on the amps so i can use 1 bass knob from 1 amp and not have to run both...the amps are multilinkable amps just not for sure how to wire...help out thanks alot

What's up everyone! I am starting to learn more and more about systems and tuning them correctly. I have a mtx 421d am with a 8inch American bass sub, I need some help on how to tune the amp and what songs you guys recommend. It hits hard with low bass music but with bands or other k8nda bass it doesn't hit right or it won t hit.

ok so when i first turn my car on my volts are usually 14.2 when im not even playin my sub or have my ac on it slowly drops to 13.5 and sits there. then the rest of the day i never see 14s again i had my alt checked and its fine so i have no idea wat it is. any ideas?

i'm looking to upgrade my dual flip screen for a normal good quantity HU. i can buy a pioneer deh-p6200bt used from a friend from the specs it looks good on paper, i have never owned a pioneer HU any thoughts or opinions before i buy it. thanks.

last time i hooked it up the blue light indicator is on,but i was wondering why it does not power my re adio mx 12 sub.i have it wired in one ohm i can barely hear the sub pound. I called us amps and the guys said that iteh amp needs a 200 plus amp alternator and two batteries to power up the amp the right way.Is it true? He said that a stock alternator wont even power teh amp at all.IThanks for your help guys.

Anybody have any suggestions, pros or cons about this? I have a nice JVC (forget the model#) that has a bad a@@ equalizer and five volt preouts, and basicly everything I want in a headunit. I've done a lot of research on here and in general about line drivers, some people swear by them and some say they are a waste of money. Anyways I came across an Audio Control video that explained the said line driver and they were saying that like power wire rca's tend to lose a little power with longer runs and could possibly pick up noise and such. In general I'm looking to get just the cleanest signal I can get and was wondering if i could get that by adding this piece? I'm not wor…

Errr!!! I have posted on a lot of forums and still gotten no answer about the clarion. I am looking at either that or the Pioneer 960 but I am in a bind over which one i want. There are no shops around me so i can't go and listen/see them so I have to make my dicision on other ppls experienses with these 2 HU's. Please help me!!!!! Jon

In testing for competition, MECA enforces fuse sizes for specific divisions in your class. In testing, if you are trying to pull 2-3x the fuse rating of your inline fuses.. and they keep popping, can that damage the amp? I haven't started yet but i was thinking the amps would be susceptible to low voltage conditions at high volume when the fuses pop and could eventually cause damage, maybe immediately. Is this true?

Ok I ran 0 gauge wiring for my saz-2500. I put a 250 amp inline fuse and as soon as I connected the negative terminal the inline fuse blew. So I pulled out the wiring to make sure it wasnt cut went it went through the firewall and disconnected the amp. Ran the wire outside the car without the amp connected and the fuse didn't blow. Connected the amp and the fuse blew once I connected the neg terminal. Faulty amp or am I missing something? Amp was a refurbished purchased from db-r.com. Any ideas I'd appreciate it.

Soo i was drivin down the street bumpin and all the sudden my subs cut off, when i checked it the amp was not turned on but the fuse wasnt blown, i took the fuse out then put it back in, the amp turned back on immedatley after. next time im driving it does the same thing and i have to take the fuse out and put it back in to turn on the amp. it only cuts out when i turn it up to a little over half volume. i would just go throw on another fuse but they dont sell any 250a fuses at my local places so id have to order online

I current have a stock battery up front, and a batcap 2000 in the back near the amps. my question is, would there be any problems mixing battery brands? was looking at a kinetik 1400 to put up front.. would it make a difference? I would assume not considering the stock battery i have up front (wet cell) runs fine with the batcap in the back minus the voltage drops. I need to figure out a way to stabilize these voltage drops. Thanks guys!

Hey guyz, i heard 2 pops about 2 seconds apart then hit play on my iphone and silence. Ive had 2 different amps on my door speakers. ONe was an alpline mrp300.4 or something like that and now i have phoenix gold octane 9.0.1. both are 5 channel and i used only the 4 channels for my door speakers. I have pioneer 5800mp headunit, the pico fuse is blown so i catch a goodbit of alt whine and noise. which leads me to think that has something to do with the amps blowing? Could that have an effect on the amp if the fuse is blown? I checked all fuses and connections. It wasnt playin music when it happened either, which is weird to me. Please help me fix what im doing wro…

What size alt do you suggest? 99 blazer with power acoustik a3000db and power acoustik 0v2-400 2300rms +85x2rms+regular electronics they have a group buy over a ca.com and i need a new alt so what do you think? i dont really want the small case, but i dont know yet im about to call him and get prices but is 200a enough for my setup, i have a everstart maxx batt up front so what do you guys think

Im looking at these 2 amps to power my 12" polk sub(150WRMS) and my front SEPS. Would you guys know which one is better in terms of quality and performance?... just base your answer with your experience and the brand name, just in case you have'nt listen or audition this models.. its not available locally so im asking the experts on AMPS... they are both on the same price range in Ebay, shipped. OK, we JUST got the car a few weeks ago and started installing the system. it's not done yet by a long shot. I do not have the big 3 done yet. I do not have a HO alt. however, I used to run 1 red top under the hood and 1 stinger spv70 in the back without big 3 or HO alt in an Olds Cutlass and Dodge Intrepid with ZERO problems. the systems in those were WAY louder and hit much much harder than this one, plus I had a kicker 350.4 and 200.2 in those as well. when I ran the lanzar in it, it was at 1 ohm , now only 2 ohm, and before that an inefficient Audiobahn A1500HCT that popped 100amp fuses left and right till I just ran the power wire strait to the battery no fuse. thi…

hi, i have 200 bucks to buy an amp to use to power my re audio xxx comps that i am finally installing. and i am wondering should i get a refurb sax100.2 from db-r and go passive or a new eclipse audio xa4000 and try to do active with them and i have an alpine 9887 for the processing. so it is more like what would you do type thread.

I would like to give a big THANKS to johnecon2001, vladd and a few others for talking me into experiencing the wonderful world of Time Alignment. I recently purchased an Alpine 9887 and can not believe the difference in the imagining that TA makes. How did I ever get along without? Will a 225amp excessive amperage alternator be enough to run 3 Kinetik 2400s? my electrical is currently stock but i will be getting a new alt and those 3 batteries pretty soon. everything will be in 1/0awg big 3 will be in 2/0awg i am about to get a Memphis 4KW and i know its a power hog. i wont power it up until i get the voltage to back it up. and eventually when i save up some more money im gonna be runnin 4 Bl 15s in a blowthrough. any help or advice will be much appreciated.

just wondering how many runs of 0ga power wire will i need for my system it will be in my 97 expedititon it will have either 4 rockford fosgate amps or 5 sundown amps... fosgate wise 2 2500bds and a 1000.4 and a 400.2 ....and sundown 2 2500ds and 3 125.2s.... batts will be 4 xs power d3100 and a ho 270 amp alt. im only askin sence it has been so long and all my systems till now have never needed more than 1 run of 0ga wire

installing my new system and my buddy says no dont run fuses.this is what im running 4 runs of 0 gauge wire from the front battery 2 power 2 ground,in the back i have 2 kinetik 3800s and a 300 amp altenator but the alt wire is fused.there is currently no fuses on the power wires for the truck but have not finished yet so just wondering what everyones opion is.im thinking 2 under the hood one on each power 2 before the batterys in the back and 2 after the batterys in the back.thanks
