hey guys ive been going thru alot of amps lately and i was set on the memphis mojo amp for 4000wats but now i see alot of guys using hifonics amps . when looking at prices i found a 8000watt hifonics for the same as a memphis mojo 4000 and the hifonics amp had better protection agianst short circuiting and a crap tone of other features. then the memphis amp has only 4000 and very little features as i see . so my question is what would u guys do i got links below to the amps and prices . do you think 8000 is to much for 2 18 btls fully loaded ? could i burn them up ? hifonics - http://www.ikesound.com/hifonics_xxv_sampson memphis- http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse…

So this is just some crappy system that I bought from my friend cuz he needed money. Its a Sony Xplod GTR2022 amp with 2 Kenwood 12s. After using it in my car for a few weeks the amp decides to go into protect mode. So I turned off my car and took a look at the amp and it looks like my ground wire fell out of the amp when I was driving. So i connect the ground back up and make sure everything is all hooked up right and started driving again. Here is where the problem is, the amp and subs are fine until I turn the volume up to 14 then the amp goes into protect mode and the subs of course cut out. Now I usually had the volume up to about 36 on the regular. Since its Arizon…

no upgrded alternator yet but im in the process of looking for one for a 2003 saturn ion, the stock alternator is 105 amps. the starting battery is stock and i will be getting a xs power d2400 for my secondary battery for the 3000 watt rms system first and then change my starting battery. i wanted to know which one would be better just for starting purposes even though i know red tops are designed just for starting a vehicle best. i have researched and heard pros for a yellow and pros for a red, why would i want a yellowtop as a starting battery if i have a xs power battery in the back?

Undecided on which HU to get, i want touchscreen, iPod compatible(will get the steering wheel control as well), and while im at it with gps, bluetooth is not necessary. I was looking at these two an Eclipse and a Pioneer. The Eclipse has a much bigger screen and what not, but the faceplate is the one where it moves(i've heard these tend to break/become disfunctional really quick or is taht only for the slide out ones?). While the Pioneer has a slot for discs and does not need to slide/move at all. The Pioneer also looks more "cleaner/smoother". Im not sure lol, my birthday is coming up and i know i will get some money and will need to just put liek 3-400 to get a nice HU.…

OK. I know this is a HORRIBLE post and probably an open ended question... I am wondering what can be added to my setup to make it better "overall"? I am seeing a bunch of stuff about things which i have never heard of and am currently researching a few different things to see if something might be missing. My main thing is the speakers or rather all the settings on the amp for the speakers. Last time i was getting ready to install my system i just turned the volume ot the max I would ever play it and then started screwing with the amp until it sounded good. IIRC i had it switched to HPF and then just started tweeking the freq. and such until it stopped sounding like …

Just need someone to explain to me what the subwoofer setting does, currently I have it at -10. It sounds really nice at that setting, when I turn it up to 0 or +1..2..3 etc, the bass feels more jumpier and not as nice, what does this setting do, and what should it be set at?

Hi, I recently purchased a used Alumapro 15 Farad Cap. The guy I bought it from was using it with no relay or solenoid which Alumapro provides when purchased new. Am I ok with using it how he had it with no accessories? I've asked around but not many people are too familiar with The CAP. Thanks!

I plan on buying an active compatible HU, but was wondering how setting crossover points on an HU works? If I am using external amplifiers, with crossover settings, do the settings on the HU ignore those, and just use the settings programed in the HU? Or would I have to set crossover settings on the amp which are equal to those on the HU? Specifically I will be running a US Amps AX-5600. Help is much appreciated. This will be my first active setup.

For grounding some say go from negative on front batt to negative on rear batt. Some say ground to the chassis. Some say get an isolator and relay. Ok I am trying to set my car up as SQ so I am lookin into another Nine.1 and another 2 ch so I can go 3-way active....only one lil problem my car has 100% stock Electrical. I found a few places to get an alt for about $350 for a 200 amp unit, here is the kicker tho.... I was looking at the do it yourself manuals at autozone (Haynes I think) and its telling me I have to pull both axles and pull the K member, then drop the motor 6 inches or so to get it out!!! F*$& that I am a welder and I have access to a water jet. So will adding another alt not of the same make or model cause me any problems. I was just going to get a one wire unit and a longer belt, make some mounti…

I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS High Fidelity head unit. I was thinking about getting a processor. Since I have never owned any type of sound processor. my question is. Am I going to put this thing in line with my amps and make 19000db on the mic or will that 300$ investment barely be noticed?? My deck already has t/a, 16 band eq, 3 way active set up, I can adjust each individual speaker for gain and eq, so what will a processor do for me. is it really worth the money?
