I have a 3 way electronic crossover 18db slope and rta on my Head unit. I have 3 6 volt preouts front, rear, and subs, I have my tweets run off front channel and my mids ( 2 5.25's ) off the rear channel and the subs my question is. I know what freq the crossover points are, but I am not sure what Q is on the crossover, I can adjust the freq range and the q of the crossover. And I think I may be doing my high and low pass on the bandpass portion incorrectly. I have the high pass set to 3500 and the lowpass set to 100, was not sure about the Q so I left it alone. I have not done anything with RTA, I messed with it some but could not tell a real difference in positioning b…

I have a question if anyone can help answer it. this is the problem i'm having. i have 2 of the fi 18 bl's. i'm running them with 2 of the mtx 7801d amps. 1 per sub. this is the part that gets weird. i have all thing hooked up but not the remote wire to the amps yet. the subs start freaking out. when the gains and the db boost on the amps are turned all down the subs still move a little without signal from the deck yet. as soon as you start to increase the gains the subs do it again. like i said NO signal from the deck. i have to use the db boost on the amps, because as soon as i hook up the bass knob the subs freak out. i'm kind of lost. when i have hooked up the remote …

Allright guys, I was working on the car last night, and re-doing my grounds and re-running everything neatly...and what not...and put everything together nicely. I got done, and now my amplifiers stay on constantly even when I kill the car. And my headunit will not turn on. I did pull the H/U but I checked everything behind it, and nothings loose or broken. If I un-plug the Remote wire from the amps, they turn off.....seems like they are getting power from a hot source, but the H/U will not come on. I didn't let anything touch in the trunk, or anything...no fuses have blown...no loose connections anywhere. I'm stumped .....never ran into this problem before....has any one…

I have someone interested in buying my two RF t1500bdcp amps. Ill be running two xcon 15s d1 in 4 cubes per sub. Which amp is better and why between cresendo 3500d and sundown 3500v2? And for that matter would it be wise to go from what i have to what im looking at?

i have a alpine glide touch that is pooping out so im trying to consider a new head unit for my truck... i would like it to have 3 sets of 4volt preouts and aux and usb in front also mp3 compatble. is the clarion cz401 ok? or should i go with pioneer? price range would be around 100-240

Need a little help. Finally got everything wired up and in the car. Ran all my wiring, hooked up my batcaps, grounded everything and I have power to everything. Only problem is that I can't get any sound out of my Sub or Component speakers that are wired up to the amps. Nothing is in protect mode or anything. Are my RCA's possibly bad, or is the headunit just not sending out a signal? I got about 5 seconds of sound out of the sub and components when I first turned it on, now nothing works. No fuses are blown or anything. I need help please!! Any replies are appreciated. Jeff

Hi all, I'm in the market for a new amplifier, I'd like to see something that will do 2-2500 rms and prefer something that will run @ .5 ohm. I've ran American bass VFL's in the past and have had good luck with them. Does anyone have any suggestions otherwise? I'd like to keep it around the 4-500 dollar mark.

ok so im going to need to get a new headunit for my car, which stereo is cheap (300>) but allows me to control my Ipod through the stereo its self. ive got one in mind but i want you all to tell me what you think is a good stereo. also i saw that Soundstram has some perdy flip ups that do exactly what i need it to, but im guessing the price is like a grand. anyone got info on their stereos?

Hey all. I just bought a 1993 Ford Tbird Super Coupe and the tape deck isn't going to cut it. I want a cd player that I can go active with. I was looking at the Eclipse 3200, I'm not sure if that's a good choice. I trust that you guys can help me out. Budget: No more than 300. Listening Preferences: Classic and modern rock. Well, it is finally time for me to get a new head unit for the Bronco. I really like the Alpine cda-7893 that is in it now but it's from 2002 and is cd only. The Alpine skips like crazy now when I try to get some decent bass going in there and I need to begin testing for next season so I'm going to purchase a new unit with usb. i had a excessive amperage 300amp alt installed and its charging but its not sending the signal the computer saying that its charging so the battery light keeps coming on, but the battery never drops below 14v's, i was told i can only use a pulley from the makers of the alt which is EA, do you know if this is true? i think the guy said i need a 1.5 or 1.75'' pulley for the alt

So I have had my 12" Icon all but a month now and I feel like its time to get it an amplifier that will make it happy. Right now it is being powered from a JL Audio 500/1 and it seems to take it with pleasure. So far it has made a great addition to my Toyota Camry. What I will be doing is upgrading the power for the Icon and re-doing the front stage hopefully in the spring. so when i put my latest head unit into my car, i left a cd in my old unit, and i have been trying to get it out. i have a power supply that i plan to hook up to it, but i can't figure out where to hook my wires up to, so i need a diagram to find out where to hook my positive and negative leads....any one know where i can get a diagram? the unit is a Clarion ProAudio DRX6375. i googled and eBay'd and all i found was a picture of the diagram but the seller on eBay made it microscopic because he only wanted buyers looking at it.

I'm finally getting around to installing the stuff I've had for over a year now. I'll be putting 2 RE 8's powered by a USX 2080. My deck is an old JVC El-Kameleon KX-something or other (the best Kameleon they had), I'll be using the deck's sub outs because I'm too cheap to buy a crossover for now, and the highs are Infinity Reference 6x8's. This is my setup and i need advice to see if i need a capacitor or not. 2001 toyota avalon xl 2 Type r's 1222d Kicker zx1000 Kenwood double din headunit This is my first system and the people at the electronics store said that i need a cap but i cannot be sure. I dont know how to do the big three upgrade. My question: Do i need a capacitor and if i dont have one will my lights be dim? and Will the alternator and battery be able to handle the power without sacrificing the dimming of lights and other electrical problems? i think the alternator gives out 80 amps stock and with the car on it is between 13.5-14.5V thanks

I'm getting my fully loaded Fi BTL N2 18'' soon. I'm still not sure what amp to get without overpowering or under powering the BTL. Do you think 1 Rockford t2500bdcp would be too much for it (it put out 2500watts at 1ohm and 2 ohm)?? Or also im thinking about getting 2 rockford T1000bdcp's (which puts out 1000watts at 1ohm or 2ohm) and hooking up one amp on each coil on the BTL. Let me know what you guys think Thank you

I have a Boston acoustics pro 12.5 sub(4 ohms) in custom box at Boston specs (sealed 1” mdf). It is rated at 1200w rms and iam now using a 600w rms(Hertz class D). Although it sounds pretty good, cant help wondering how much difference a 1000-1200w amp would sound compared to the 600w amp. Need advice from people with experience trying different amps with the same sub.

So can u guys tell me which head units u think are better sound quality wise and features. I'm goin to get either a pioneer premier or kenwood excelon and idk whch one to get. My friends tell me kenwood isn't any good but I hear from experienced car audio technicians that kenwood makes better head units than premier. I was looking to get the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X693 or the Pioneer Premier DEH-P510UB. They are both around the same price and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

I have a Hyundai XG-300 (ya i know they are not that common) and I'm looking to do the big 3 upgrade with 1/0awg but before i do i want get get a new alternator rather than the stock one that i have(120 amps) Only problem is that i cant find an alternator made for my car that does any thing over stock and i need at least another 80 amps at the minimum..basically im trying to power a btl 15 or grab a re audio xxx 15..pretty much i need to get 2000w + rms out of my charging system.(i am aware of the extra batteries needed)... my question is would any H.O. alt. i find work fine with my car or should i just buy a new stock alt. and get it rewound and altered to put out more p…

Hi , I will buy a 2500-3000 watts amplifier when I find a good deal. With my 2 amps (Sundown saz1500 and sax 50.4 bridged) I have no voltage drops, no dimming lights. But I know my stock battery will have trouble with a more powerful bass amplifier. I don't want to change that stock battery : it's 2.5 year-old but still very strong ! I did add a 0 ga wire from batt(-) to ground and another 0 ga wire from engine block to batt(-). I can't access the alt, it's under a lot of things ! So I need help, I have a 2008 ford escape and currently I have my system(2 12"s) hooked up to the stock radio through a line output convertor. I believe that my system would sound twice as good if I was to install an aftermarket head unit. Alright most likely this amp will be powering 2 12" SS RL-P's in a box between 1.75-2^3ft with 20-24^2in of port per sub...tuned to 34hz... Here are the amp choices..price range is under 360.... 1.)Orion 2500D(refurbished from Ikesound kinda worried about that) will be used @ 2 ohms 2.)MA Audio HK-1398 which is 600x2 @ 1ohm stereo, and 1600x1@ 2ohm mono... 3.)Hifonics BX1605D which is 1600@1ohm.
