Hello everyone I have a little problem. I just installed another kinetik hc 2400 in my 03 yukon. I am currently running 1 red top under the hood and 2 kinetik hc 1400 and 2 kinetik hc 2400. I'm pushing 2 18's tc sound ultra lms and a ia40. I am waiting for my second one to come. I charged the 5 month old 2400 and one of the 1400. After installing all the batteries and driving for 20 minutes my engine light came on. What's the problem. I tryed removing the connections for 5 mins to reset the computer, but that didn't work. Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

I'm considering going with a stealth install in my new car so I'm researching quality amps that have a small footprint. My previous amps have been eD and I'm currently using a DLS A5. I will be limited to about 11X11 for the new amps and need something to push 1-3 subs (potentially as low as 1ohm total) and a set of components up front. I've seen the Alpine PDX amps and they fit the bill as far as size and power but I'm not sure how I feel about the Alpine gear. I've always considered them kind of mass market average quality stuff. And I also don't know about running Class D for my front stage. The Zed Audio Mililith and Gladius are just a little too big otherwise t…

I finally installed my Eclise CD-8445 and I'm loving it. However, I don't quite understand how the parametric equalizer works. It's a 7 band eq, I can change the gain of each frequency range...I get that much. How do I know what frequency to set each "section" of the eq to? Each section has three frequencies to choose from and I don't know what to select. On a side note...anyone know how to fade the sound to the front? Can't seem to find a way with the Advanced/Pro mode on. Thanks in advance

I was fooling around with my amp today, turning up the gain gradually, and I was getting excited, sub was pounding a lot harder, and it didnt sound like it was getting any muddier or sound like it was clipping. But then i noticed that once i disconnected the sub and played a tone, the amplifier itself was making a buzzing noise. So i turned back the gain and it went away. I was wondering if this was some kind of built in clipping detector or something along those lines? Have you guys ever encountered something like this? Any info would be great, thanks guys.

I have a 1.5 farad capacitor a friend gave me and I'd like to put it to some good use. I have a small mtx amp powering a pair of JL coaxial 5.25" speakers and a punch800.2 bridged for my RE HC 12". I understand some people are against using caps but I have one so I might as well use it. And generally they are used for the amp powering the sub however, in my case I highly doubt it would do anything noticable. So here's my question: What would happen if I hooked up the cap to the MTX amp that is powering the front speakers? Would that give the MTX amp a little extra boost? I believe it's a mtx roadthunder and it's pushing maybe 50rms total.

well i got my old alpine cda-9827 back and decided to use it in my tundra. took the factory unit out and saw there was a small external amp. after looking around i saw that i needed the Metra 70-8113 wiring harness to keep the factory amp in there. its got the rca cables for front and rear speakers. super easy to wire and install everything. after i got everything wired up i turn the key, but dont start the truck, and it sounded great. way better than the factory unit. so i put everything back in the dash and the dash piece back in and screw it back on and listen for a bit more. later on i need to go somewhere so i get in and start my truck and there is a buzzing sou…

Is this normal? I guess its hard to say, but I own a 2004 Impala, stock alternator. My battery finally died after 9 years of use and when I threw the new one in its charging at 15.5volts. Im just hoping a regulator isnt shot or anything stupid. Obviously constant overcharge can cause batteries to prematurely fail. Just checking to make sure everything is normal here.

ok im currently running sum cheap o wiring and id like to know what is the best route to upgrade it im running a 130 amp alt upped from a 60 amp. Big 3 is done with some good 4ga scraps i rounded up at the shop with copper ring terminals crimped on. I am running a RE audio dts 1500.1 amp battery is unfortunately stock till i go pick up my yellow top this sunday. Should i just get a quality O.F.C. amp wiring kit? Should I just order some welding lead and build my own? If I do either of these do i need to get 4ga or thicker like 2 or 0ga? There is also a 200 or so watt 2 chanel amp running 2 memphis 6x9s. this amp is already ran and hooked up tho so i could…

Ok, im looking for a head unit that is vibration resistant, clean output, good looking (matching my interior, ill post pics if i am asked), plays MP3's and WMA's preferably (so i can keep one CD in for 3-4Hr drives), and i would like an RCA in too but that isnt required. I only need 2 sets of RCA's. I would like pause as well (if i ever want to compeate bass race it would be nice) Im getting a $139 refund from Ikes Sound for the DEI1100D (its good because i paid $70 for the amp, send 29 to get it repaired. Im basically making $40) and soon ill have around $100 from my parents, maybe more if i score awsome on the ACT (lol). so my budget is around $240 and the above is what…

Alright I know I havent posted anything on here in a while but let me bounce and idea off of you guys... I bought a d3100 recently and upgraded my grounds and I am about 13.9v on full bore depending on my rpms. Now I am pushing a dc lvl 5 15" on a SAZ-3500D. My question is - do I buy another 3500D and put 7k watts (not sure what clamped would be) on it? Its a d2 woofer so I think its possible to wire it down to 1 ohm using 2 amps.. My other idea would be to get rid of the 15 and get 2 dc lvl 5 12s and another 3500D. In order to power both my ideas I would need another 3500D (or sell it and get one massive amp) and another 3100. Oh and I also have a 200 amp alty with the …

Hey guys, here's my predicament. I currently have an Alpine 9881 that I use to control my 6.5" Component set of adire koda's up front. The koda's run off a Rockford 800a2 @ 4 ohms getting...maybe 150rms I think. However, I know I can get some better SQ out of them if I pick up my head unit features. Here's some of the things i am hoping for and what I am not really worried about. Need: Good iPod control ( I love the alpine one now, but am open to others) HP and LP filters (The 9881 now only has very limited options). A variable slope would be nice too CD Player(no mech-less ones for me) Good EQ flexibility (a parametric would be nice) T.A. Would also be nice Single Din …

i'm installing an indash into an old explorer. heres the problem..... we wired everything up right, used the same wiring harness that was in the truck. no fuses blown or anything. indash turns on.... but we got no sound. took off the indash harness and tried battery poppin speakers... still no sound. tried hard wiring it so the truck harness and still no sound.... my guess is that the truck harness is bad and that we need to hard wire all the speakers....

My system is currently running active with a 9886, h100 and is powered by an alpine mrp-f250 [email protected] @4 ohm, my speakers are focal access series components(minus the passive crossovers). I have an Eclipse 3242 that I thought was a good amp, but turns out to have some issues. I bought the eclipse for $75 about a year ago and it's been sitting. It looks pretty beefy internally and has alot of fusing (4x20a) making me wonder if it's underated. It's rated [email protected] 4 ohm. And 55x4 @13.8v @4 ohm. I have a friend that can mess with it and hopefully fix it for around $20. I have three options that I would like help with. I can keep using the f250, fix the eclipse and use it,…
