I was wondering if you buy an amp, if you can send it back to kicker without going through a dealer? Is there special things for competitors or what? What would you do about going through with this?

So can u guys tell me which head units u think are better sound quality wise and features. I'm goin to get either a pioneer premier or kenwood excelon and idk whch one to get. My friends tell me kenwood isn't any good but I hear from experienced car audio technicians that kenwood makes better head units than premier. I was looking to get the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X693 or the Pioneer Premier DEH-P510UB. They are both around the same price and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Hi guys I've been looking around at some mids and highs. I'm thinking about trying to run 2 6.5s an 2 tweeters in each front door of a 03 ford explorer and maybe some coaxials in the rears. My question is what kind of amp should I run a 2 channel or a 4 channel? It's seems the 2 channels are usually quite a bit cheaper. What are advantages of running a 4 channel?

So I am about to purchase the BL18 Dual 1 ohm, but I am not sure on what amp and head units fit this sub the best. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I need the sub for rap and hip hop that involve a lot of bass to pump me on my way to the gym, because I bodybuild. I drive a 98 Lexus es 300 and will probably throw it in my trunk. And I am also unsure of what kind of box to use, and what dimensions. Can anybody give me some suggestions? (you might be a poet and not even know it- wow that was gay)

I have a really small 2-door car. I need a ballpark on how many ft of 1/0 to buy to do the big 3.

So I got one of these off ebay and unlike the stinger one it only has 2 wires. And if I was to hook it up straight to power it would be on all the time. Was thinking of either running it off the ignition wire that triggers the head unit to turn on or running it off a switch so I could turn it off. Or do you guys think another way would be better.

My Alpine PXE-H650 processor will not do a hard reset. According to alpine, I need to hold down the reset button for 10 seconds and it will do a factory reset. This does not happen with mine. I spoke with technical support twice today with no avail. Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the firmware for it? I really do not want to send my processor to them. Thanks!

alrite ive got a set of the image dynamics idq 31 eq's and if anyone has ever dealt with these they probably know how to help me. the back of them has all liek XLR input and output jacks, except for 1 rca input and 1 rca output. the way i have had them hooked up for the past year (and yes i kno this is horibly wrong and totally killed my stereo imaging) is had the front l+r into a y cable and in to the eq then out and split it back into a l+r rca. and same with the back. It bugged the hell outta me and i do not want to run it like this so i was wondering if anyone can give me any input on all of the other jacks on the back or if anyone has any of the plugs or anything. ot…

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding my Eclipse. I have a CD5030 and also have a XM Onyx that I'd like to run thru the decks AUX. Does anyone know if I'd be able to use the same AUX plug with the CD5030 as the CD5425?

Everything working fine until just a second ago. Move the amp and battery around a little (Shuriken BT100 and RD 1750.1D) because they move when I drive which I hate and am looking to fix somehow...but pretty much all I did was increase the subsonic filter a little from like 20 to 23hz, turned the car on and no power to the sub........amp light is on no protection. Checked power connections and everything is fine. Fuse rating for the amp is 4x40amp but I'm assuming they are inside the amp as I cannot see them on the exterior. My only thought at this point is that when a small piece of wire protruding from the amp ground to the amp power that it zapped a fuse? I saw a spa…

So I got my kinetik hc1400 and installed it today, and then tonight my dad was like did you get a new alt too?.. I was like what omg?!? you told me not to invest in one in this car.. This May sound simple to some but wanted some clarification. I am installing two batteries in my trunk. How they will have to be installed will require me to put about a five foot piece of wire between the positive connections. I will be fusing before first battery where it entered trunk location and fusing after second battery before amp connection. My question is should I install fusing after the first battery and then install a second fuse before it connects to the second battery or will one fuse between them be sufficient?

well i got my old alpine cda-9827 back and decided to use it in my tundra. took the factory unit out and saw there was a small external amp. after looking around i saw that i needed the Metra 70-8113 wiring harness to keep the factory amp in there. its got the rca cables for front and rear speakers. super easy to wire and install everything. after i got everything wired up i turn the key, but dont start the truck, and it sounded great. way better than the factory unit. so i put everything back in the dash and the dash piece back in and screw it back on and listen for a bit more. later on i need to go somewhere so i get in and start my truck and there is a buzzing sou…

I have an older Pioneer DEH P930 with a bass enhancement feature that works like an Epicenter. As a bass lover...I have enjoyed being able to use this feature without having to add another piece of equipment (such as an Epicenter), just for this feature, into the system. Do any current Pioneer models have this feature? Do any other manufacturers build a circuit like this into their decks or processors? Thanks!

Been gone for a while....need some insight. I'm ditching my Alpine 7894 for something newer and with more tweaking ability. I've been looking at the following: Eclipse 8445 Eclipse 8443 Eclipse 8455 Eclipse CD5000 Pioneer 960mp Pioneer 9600mp Can anyone share their experiences with these units or whether or not one has been consistantly praised more than the rest. Any flaws, things you wish it had? -It needs a 3way xover or better (wish there was a decently priced 4way xover) -At least a 7 band parametric EQ The Burr Brown 9600mp makes me want it more than the rest. Are there any reasons to not weight this over the rest? Can anyone tell a difference? I'm also replacing …

My amp is out for delivery!! Just wondering if the remote that comes with the AQ2200D is remote gain or just a subwoofer level controller. I've heard that remote gain is bad, but the opposite only controls the level up to where the gain is set. Reading back through that, it doesn't really make sense.. Hopefully you guys understand what I'm asking

was connecting my UV neon , with the cig lighter in my car , suddenly it smoked up , n smelled like burned plastic, suddenly it went off, and when i touched it it was very hot... any idea , why did that happen ?? pluse the neon wasnt underbody or anything , it was inside the cabin, n no water or any liquid can reach it .. thnx for any helpful ideas

Hi everyone, I'm looking to finish the big 3 in my car. I already have a 0 ga wire from battery - to chassis. My alternator is difficult to reach. I must "lift" the car to reach it under the motor. My question is : can I take a point anywhere on the engine block and ground it to the chassis of the car (with a 0 ga wire) ? (I know !). That would be the third part of the big 3. I have a stock alternator, maybe the (+) alt to (+) battery part is not a "must do" part for me. Another question : I have one 0 ga wire with ring connectors, and one 2/0 marine grade wire with ring connectors too. I curious to know how you guys determine how many batteries you need to back up your power. I'm looking at running around 7000-7500 RMS. I've called and emailed around regarding HO alts for my car, the largest alt I've been able to find is around 250amp I've seen ppl talking about ca, cca, and ah, but how do those numbers help you determine what you need. I'm rather new to systems this big, I'm talking more than 1 extra batt in the trunk. Thanks for that help
