  4. Ok, so I'll try to keep this explanation short but informative. I have a JL 450/4 and Rockford Fosgate T20001BD. I have a NTB batter in the front...just regular battery. Going from that battery is two 4 gauge power wires. Those go into an isolator. From there the wries each have a 100amp fuse and run to the back of the car to a Optima Yellow Top. The Yellow Top is grounded 1ft. from itself to the car chassis. I have a remote wire going from the Head Unit to the back of the car. That runs into the JL amp and splits there and goes to the Fosgate. Ok so that's the setup, now heres the problem. Ever since I got this new Fosgate amp (previously had a JL 500/1 instead) …

In the coming weeks, I'm going to need to install: MB Quart 5.25 component set, Orion 8002, Orion 1200D, and ReSX 15" into a Mazda 6. For anyone that has seen the stock HU on the 6, You'll know that I'm NOT replacing it. I'm not gonna cut and glass a new console cover for just a HU, not too mention that we would lose functionality of a in dash LCD display (showing ambient temp, radio station / disc info), as well as inset steering wheel controls. To top it off, this car belongs to somone who cares very little about the SQ & control gains of a nice aftermarket HU. Plan is to tap the rear door speaker leads and run them into an EQ/Xover preamp. I'd rather have a EQ/X…

  8. (reference: system is HDS.1 15" Soundqubed 1200RMS w/Orion Cobalt 2500.1D Amp in a 2003 Lincoln TC) Recently I posted bout headlight dimming, weather Big3 or capacitor may solve issue & got many great responses... The best bein bout batteries & the different types, however Im currently livin off expired bread & occasionally sharing dog food w/my neighbors dog that he gets LMAO it's not that bad but suffice it to say I can't afford a new battery that would probably solve the problem, but since I had extra 4ga. OFC from my last 2 installs, I did the big3 upgrade anyway, however didn't notice much difference. Since this upgrade, roughly 2 weeks ago I've e…

Just want to wire a friends two under-dash neon's and one under the back seat to a single toggle switch mounted on the dash. Battery ---> power wire (16ga) ---> inline fuse (5amp) ---> more power wire ---> 12v power on switch Acc on on switch ---> neon x3 (splicing all together to run off the single switch) Ground switch and tube. Right? Wrong? Your feet smell? Perhaps just using the cigarette lighter in the car. Cut the wires off the back of the lighter in the dash, cut the DC adapter off of the neon, wires from lighter into switch ... ? Probably the easiest way if it works ... Thoughts and opinions. Going for simplicity. - Steve

I have been thinking that I want a pretty decent size (1000WRMS) maybe up to 1500 but I want a Mono block amp that will do a 1 ohm load and like it! Would this amp meet this criteria! It says 1200W RMS and I have heard some decent stuff on these amps but not enough to know if they have the Power they say! Specs say http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=4&pid=6&cur=USD see here for yourself! I like the look too! Kinda hip and says play me loud! <p> But yeah so who has one or has messed around with these bad boys! Good price too for a new amp! $320 from a neighbor! What ya'll thinkin? Get it or pass? Dont absolutely need it but want it cuz need a new project…

  18. What happened: was running pioneer avic d3 with backup camera...one day backup camera started not working at random times and I wanted Bluetooth radio so I replaced head unit with pioneer mvh-300ex. Since doing so my head unit does not turn off with ignition (or door open+Truck off) The Wiring: I’ve checked the obvious and my HU power is correctly hooked up to red wires and the yellows are correctly hooked up as well. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi everyone, i was upgrading my cars electrical today (big 3, new 175a HO alt, Kinetik 1800w batt) and when I was done installing it and I turned over my car, I was running 13.8v. When I started playing some music, it sounded like it was quieter than when I had stock electrical. All the lights in my car were dimming and the volts were dropping as low as 10.5v. The alternator was charging real slow and having a lot or trouble keeping up. What could the problem be?? I am absolutely clueless on what it is so if anyone has a good suggestion, I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance

Going to start a new thread for this, but it kind of piggyback's off my previous battery thread. Got my stereo up and running but was noticing some dimming of the lights both internally and externally. Initially was thinking of just upgrading the battery. I took out my DMM and at the battery it was showing 14.0 and right about 14.0 at the amp (might have been 13.9). So all seemed fine, but then I started to turn it up a bit and was noticing on heavy bass hits it was going down to as low as 12.2v. The gain on the amp is a little under 75% and the HU volume at the time was right around 75%. I'm wanting to turn the gain up more on the amp since it sounds like the sub is s…

Hello, I just purchased a Diamond Audio D7152 two channel amp. I plan to use it for my front stage which would be the Hex S600s components. The rear fills will be raw midbase drivers from DA's D661 series and they'll be hooked up via Diamond's RAF feature. I'm not sure I want to keep this amp because after getting myself more acquainted with it, it's way too high end for me. It' got more tweaking features than my home theater. I really should have gotten something simpler especially since I only listening to music to and from work. Anyway, lets say I do keep this amp, am I going to need a capacitor or anything else to keep this beauty powered. Am I going to experienc…
