Would running 500 watts rms or lower be to much on 8 gauge wiring?

i'm installing an indash into an old explorer. heres the problem..... we wired everything up right, used the same wiring harness that was in the truck. no fuses blown or anything. indash turns on.... but we got no sound. took off the indash harness and tried battery poppin speakers... still no sound. tried hard wiring it so the truck harness and still no sound.... my guess is that the truck harness is bad and that we need to hard wire all the speakers....

i am looking for a decent reasonably priced o scope for personal use on my next set up and future sets... what brands to look for???

I'm looking for a good HU that ranges from $100-200 and plays music via bluetooth with excellent sound. I have a 15" Rockford Fosgate T1 sub and a RF 300W 2 CH T3002 amp. I still need to replace both my front and back speakers. I love bass so I'm looking for a radio that has no problem with a lot of it.

i finally took the plunge and vented my box...and i have noticed that the bass output changes per song or cd(which happened with the sealed box also)..some songs are loud and deep and others have nothing?..i was wondering if theses processors really to restore the low end in all recordings..im goin to get into the sd chips for music so i want everything to sound the same..thanks in advance...

i still got my fi bl 15" sitting in my room waiting to be installed into my 04 chevy colorado. my box is 3.9 ft^3 tuned @ 32 hz. i finally decided to go with sundown amps over rockford because i can get them cheaper. but i cant decide between the saz1500 or the sae1200. i can get the saz1500 $570 and the sae1200 for $350. i talked to jacob (sundown audio owner) and he said that the saz1500 is actually 1800 at 1 ohm and the sae1200 is actually 1500 at 1 ohm. will the bl be able to handle the saz1500? or should i just stick with the sae1200...plus its cheaper . im actually leaning towards the saz1500 but im afraid that it will be too much for my bl since im gonna be playin…

i have a 12in SSD, hifonics 1208d amp (i know, i know). i have the hu settings as follows: sub level 10 out of 15. bass on 0 (-7/+7). then on the amp the bass eq is set around halfway, and the subsonic is set around 27-28 i believe. when i have the gains about 3/4's and the volume around 20/35, i start smelling WOOD. im like 95% sure its wood, and not glue from the sub. but i haven't heard of anyone else say anything about this. am i just a noob or what? im afraid to turn mine up cause of this. also, how much of an effect does all this have on the battery and alt? i have all stock wiring and plan to do big 3, just haven't got the money yet. i baby it most of the time. if…

Hi, need a small powerfull amp for one ssd 10 dual 2. I think about one Fosgate PUNCH P1000-1BD or one Soundstream Stealth Series STL1.1200D. The Punch is BD class and has 1000watts and the soundstream ab class and has 1,2kw... The amp has to be stable and powerfull but most importantly SMALL..... Whats the better choice?? Patrick

do you think the Crunch GPV2000.1 can do 2k watts rms 1ohm at 13.8v but it only has 4 25amp fuses.. for 2 fi bl 15s? or should i just run 2 amps? GPV2000.1 1 x 500 @ 4-Ohms, 1 x 1000 @ 2-Ohms, 1 x 2000 @ 1-Ohm Maxx

I tried searching on two sites and couldnt find it, but what does running at full tilt mean? Like blaring the volume all the way almost (3/4ths give or take) or turning the phase all the way to 180 or whatever? I dont know why I thought so, but I've always thought it was turning hte phase up...

I current have a stock battery up front, and a batcap 2000 in the back near the amps. my question is, would there be any problems mixing battery brands? was looking at a kinetik 1400 to put up front.. would it make a difference? I would assume not considering the stock battery i have up front (wet cell) runs fine with the batcap in the back minus the voltage drops. I need to figure out a way to stabilize these voltage drops. OK i have never really bought decent speakers other than subs in my cars, and now its time. i would like to get a sax-100.4 from sundown to run some speakers. this will be going in an 06 scion xB. so my options are 4" dash, 6.5" components in front doors, and 5 1/4" coax in the rear. what are some good quality speakers that wont break the bank but sound great with 100 watts. i was thinking alpine type r's but i dont know. Should i ditch the dash speakers? and upgrade the others? thanks

Here it is..... I have a Defeat ON/OFF switch. If I have the Defeat switch ON the nulls all my setting on the HU correct. I want to bea able to use my Draconia crossover points and play with my EQ on the HU. If I set my HU to Defeat OFF, and set the crossover HP crossover points lower than the settings on my amp and my LP point higher than what I'm running, can I take advantage of my crossover points on the amps and still be able to use my para EQ? Example: HU crossover is set at 20hz HP and my amp is set at 60hz, do I get the 60hz crossover point?

I plan on buying a Hifonics 1606d for a DC lvl 4 18" i was wondering what type of electrical upgrades i would need i dont want to have to upgrade alt because of the placement of it. i would have to remove part of the tie rod assambly and the hearders on my car to remove

Hello, i've installed my new(er) system the other day currently i have Optima Yellow top 2 SSA icons 12 2 Pheonix Gold Ryval 1000w 2 channel (each sub with their own bridged) 1 Pheonix Gold Ryval 1000w 4 channel 2 Kicker DS460 4x6 1 Pioneer DEH-P510UB Will be adding getting 2 Kicker 08KS6930 6x9 1 SoundStorm SX310 crossover if i'm not mistaken the crossover will prevent my mids and highs from "popping" and put a cleaner sound though, right? also is a sound processor needed? i have a decent amount of "road noise" coming though, just enough to bother me. will the processor fix all that? or will the crossover fix it?

Hey im in the market for a new headunit looking to spend between $200 and $300. Functions i need direct ipod connect with controlls, Atleast three pre amp out puts, seprate sub control. I have been looking at the Kenwwod decks online but have nowhere around me to mess with them in person. Also considering Alpine and maybe pioneer but not really liking the button layout of the new ones. If some one could help me out i would appreciate it. Thanks

which is better, dls a6 mono amp or a sundown sae-1200D??

If I run 0 guage fron front batt to rear batt, then connect two amps to rear batt whats the best way....1} run single power wire to distro block fron rear batt 2} run an individual wire from each amp to the batt? Second part whats the best for grounding rear batt? run a ground back to front batt or ground to chassis or both? Also same question on grounding my amps ,to the rear batt or on the frame?

I am wanting to upgrade my system to 2000-3000 watts. I don't know to much about batteries and such and im not sure how many/what size batteries i would need to stay at about 14 volts. Also my truck puts out alt puts out 105 amps, Would i need a HO alt? Just trying to figure things out so i can figure out how much this is gunna cost me.

when running multiple amps what is the best way to run (1) 0ga and (2) 4ga with only one run of 0ga from the battery under the hood. i am trying to avoid doing multiple runs (knu is 1.40 to 3.40 per ft.) or avoid using one of those cheap octagon looking blocks that has 6 different apps. i want to use anl fuses. 300 and (2) 100's. anyone run into this same problem and found something that worked better?

Well after much researching and debating, I ended up buying this headunit, and dont let the name brand fool you. From the information I gathered, this headunit is a beast and also a sleeper, has a crap load of features and rumored to have active capabilities. So I ordered it from Soniceletronix for $199 shipped, and it included the iPod adapter, installation accessories and free shipping. It has been out since the end of 06, and retail was $600!!!!! So on to the pics, plan on installing it this weekend, and I will do a full review and a video review And I had all Pioneers in the past, from the 580MP, to the 880PRS, and lastly the 780MP.
