I am getting a lot of different noises coming out of my speakers. I have had this problem for a while. I thought it was my pioneer head unit but I guess that proved to be false. I have installed all new grounds and everything is wired correctly. I am getting not only alternator whine but ... noise from when I turn my fans on (ac/heat etc) and the noise increases as I increase the fan speed noise when I turn my signal light on or yield lights on - they noise pulses to the clicks of the signal lights noise when I turn my interior lights on and as the lights dim the noise dissipates. The wierd part is, if I turn my car onto accessory the noises are no longer there. These no…

Anyone know if this is really a mono amp as some say? Specs say it's a 2 channel 50 x 2 @ 4 ohms, 80 x 1 @ 4 ohms, and 100 into 8 ohms. I've read that the amp was mislabeled at the factory and is in fact a mono amp. Figured this would be the best place to ask with all the old school fanatics on this forum. Thanks.

Anyone ever tried this amp? It looks old to me but I kinda like it. Hour meter for use, voltage remote meter and remote bass knob (well thats not that cool because most amps have them but the voltage meter is pretty cool), pretty good power and stuff. I wonder if it puts out the rated power? http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3070 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12363_...1200DA+R-B.html IDK, just looking around.

Just came across Alpine's new CDE-HD149BT HU and was wondering what others think of their latest and greatest. The new twist is that you can tune it via a smartphone app. Supposedly you can tweak time correction and crossover frequencies, plus a 9 band parametric EQ. The app also lets you share your tuning settings via facebook and apparently lets you save tons of settings and makes tuning easier...hype? I am looking for an active capable hu but haven't fell in love with anything yet. Hear nothing but good things about Alpine but can't find one that seems to open my wallet. I really liked this when I first saw it but the more I think of it the more it seems a little hok…

So before i scurry up the money to buy a sax125.2, i would like to still be able to play my boustin acoustic pro60se 6.5's. digging through the garage i found one of those old school alpine 3522s. i've been looking through the internet and need some clarification. Its 30 watts at 4 ohms. 2channel. the pro60se are 125 watts a side at 3 ohms. so my question is, would the boustin acoustics sound better off of the 3522s than the stock speakers off of my head unit? another, more serious question. i Read on another forum that since this amp is so old school, it won't match up with my head unit. they said the amp is 1v inputs (true??) and my head unit has 4v outputs. to me, it…

I've had this head unit for nearly three years now and it still works great. I am now looking into putting together a 2-way active setup in a regular cab ford ranger and was wondering if this will be able to run active. I'm new to active setups and I am not sure what to look for in a headunit and would like to keep my 9830 if possible because I am low on cash. Here is a list of the specs: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9eC4Vpu3XuP/A...px?i=500CDA9830

Whew... Got my new head unit installed as well as the steering control module, thanks to the help of Electrodynamic. Looks good but the installation of the steering control module (PAC SWI-ALP) was a little more involved than I anticipated. Still very happy will post pics soon!! PS- Sounds really good.

So i've been looking at upgrading head units because I am getting some new components and I have an alpine now and use it all the time with my iPod. I currently have a 9881. So I am thinking of sticking with the Alpine line-up and I was going to go with the 9887 for sure, but now I've seen the 9884 and it seems to have a lot of awesome features. Whats the big differences here? My currents needs I guess are: Imprint technology good equalizer( im not sure if parametric or graphic is better for me. But either would be better then 9881's) good iPod control Thats pretty much it I guess... I have a pair of 6.5 Koda components coming in soon and am hoping to make them sound even…

I got a 9885 a week ago and was installing today. It's going into a 86 Mercedes so I connected everything temporarily to make sure the wiring was correct. After setting it up and running it for about 10 minuets the rear heat sink was to hot to touch. Normal? If not what might be causing this or do I need to return to BB?

I could not find the answer using the search fonction. Sorry. Can I use the Alpine 9886 with the Alpine processor pxa h 701 without getting the "screen" remote( RUX something) ? A friend of mine already has the h u, and he just made a fantastic deal on the processor. He does not know how to run both ! He has the imprint processor but this new one seems way better. If he has to buy the remote, he will do it, but it would be great to just run bost equipment without anything more. Thanks for your help guys !

I have an alpine cda-9886 HU with pxa-h100 sound processor and ktx-h100 tuning kit. I'm thinking about selling this setup and getting the pioneer deh-p800prs. I'm looking for opinions. I'm working on a revamp of my system and wanting to go active. I know it's possible with the alpine, but i'm not happy with the eq settings i can access with the deck and i don't want to have to hook up a computer to get better sound. Also the ipod interface isn't that good. I haven't played with the pioneer with an ipod. It would also simplifiy my install going wtih the pioneer(no extra box under my seat). I figure my 9886 with accessories is worth around $350. I can get a p800prs for aro…

Which is a legit website to buy a BNIB Alpine 9887, not refurbished. OCS: Alpine CDA-9887 In-Dash Receivers with Bluetooth - Video/Multimedia at Onlinecarstereo.com -says brand new sealed in factory box -seems as though reviews of this site goes both ways. PowersellerNYC: PowersellerNYC - Alpine CDA-9887 CDA-9887 CD/MP3/WMA/AAC Receiver -says refurbished and for the same money OCS is advertising its making me think OCS's may be refurbished as well. -not sure on the sites credibility DCCA: Alpine CDA-9887 CD/MP3/WMA/AAC Receiver - iPhone Compatible -says BNIB factory sealed -reviews on this site go both ways as well ASW: Alpine CDA-9887 CD, MP3, WMA PLAYER -doesn't say…

Looking at a 100.4 sundown going active up front... 6-1/2" midbass and 1" tweet in the doors... Deciding which of the 2 units will give me better control with going active... And also which of the two is just "better" overall... though i feel it's not really important mentioning but the subs is powered by a saz3000D on 2 BL 12" I also have a 300amp iraggi alt and a yellowtop upfront and a kinetik hc24000 in the rear... Anyone have experience with these HU's let me know please...

I did a few searches and found some similiar topics, but I couldn't find any that pertained to my situation. Currently, I have a modern alpine model, just a cheaper one. The 9881 I believe. I like the set-up of it a lot and use its iPod control almost exclusively over CD's. I am looking to upgrade though for some more options for tuning. These are the two big ones that seem to be somewhat similiar, but have a few different options. I will definetely need the head unit to have good iPod control. I have a phone that can utilize the bluetooth of the pioneer as well. What would you guys reccomend? if i chose the 9887, i would have access to an imprint mic i would be able to u…

I have the 9813 model head unit it has a time delay feature , easy to set by plugging in your speaker to listening position. Alpine`s web site can give you the settings for your TD . The Bass Focus is a separate feature but when adjusted it affects the time delay. I would like to use the Bass Focus but I do not understand the instructions completely. Is any one else here using this feature and how is it set?

Ive been searching around for a new headunit for while now. I've narrowed it down to either an alpine cda 105 or kenwood kdc-x494. I've had alpine before and never had any issues. Never owned a kenwood hu before and the only complaints I'm seeing are that they are complicated. And only difference I'm seeing between the two is preout voltage and where the usb is. Which one would you guys recommend and why? Open to other suggestions, except pioneer(bad experiences) and I'd like to keep it around $150.

Here it is..... I have a Defeat ON/OFF switch. If I have the Defeat switch ON the nulls all my setting on the HU correct. I want to bea able to use my Draconia crossover points and play with my EQ on the HU. If I set my HU to Defeat OFF, and set the crossover HP crossover points lower than the settings on my amp and my LP point higher than what I'm running, can I take advantage of my crossover points on the amps and still be able to use my para EQ? Example: HU crossover is set at 20hz HP and my amp is set at 60hz, do I get the 60hz crossover point?

Hi, All, I have a couple questions related to the internal subwoofer crossover(?) of the Alpine CDA-105. So far, Alpine Tech support and Crutchfield "advisors" have been unable to help -- they only know what's in the manual, which I am perfectly capable of reading myself! 1) Does the High Pass Filter function (60/80/100 Hz or off) affect only the front and rear line or speaker outputs, and NOT the subwoofer output? I would assume only the front and rear line or speaker outputs would be filtered, but, the manual does not clearly specify. (See page 14 of the manual.) http://support.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/OM%20CDA-105_EN.pdf 2) Assuming my abov…
