I am looking to build my first system and I am a full believer in saving money but not at the expense of diminished quality. I want to get 2 15" BL's. This is in an every day driver, I want it loud but it doesn't have to be insane. I know that install is 90% of it so I am wondering how much of a difference am I really gonna see if I have Sundowns 1500 powering them or the 3000. Saying the encloser and every other factor is the same. I am thinking that since I am not looking to compete I would be spending way too much money buying the 3000 and all the extra electrical upgrades that are needed and not have that much of a noticeable difference. So if anyone who has experienc…

I have and Audiopipe APSM-1300 that went into protect mode while riding down the road. I had it wired to a 1ohm which is 1000 watts. The amp is grounded beneath the drivers seat at a spot were I sanded the paint away and secured the ring terminal with three screws to the floor. I have an 8 gauge kit with an 80 amp fuse. My question is it possible the amp was struggling too hard with the small wire to generate the power or the amp hit the drivers seat frame and maybe shorted out. The amp is damaged now and Audiopipe wants $20 to fix it and whatever it cost to ship it. I only paid $100 for the amp and I think I will go with something else instead of fixing it. Any thou…

I was about to place an order for my big 3 wiring and the ought gauge wiring for my my 1200D. Really dont want to order a surplus here. Trying to keep the price low as possible. The amp combo kit that im getting comes with 17 feet of ought gauge. I am sure that it wont take 17 feet to reach the amp so I may have some left over cable. Not sure how many feet it usually takes to do a big 3 in a engine. Any thoughts would be nice. I am considering buying 10 extra feet. If you think I can do it with less that would be great. also thinking of getting x2 of these battery terminals LINK to terminals. I am assuming the big 3 will take 1 cable for the alternator, the amp will take …

Ok so my friend needed an amp so i sold him my mrp-m850. And now im ampless but now i have an excuse for a lil upgrade. As u know the SSD12 is 800 rms. I'll have it in a sealed enclosure (1 SSD12) and im looking for a good bang for the buck amp around 200-250 max. I loved my alpine had no problems with it so i was looking at a alpine mrp-m1000 and their in my price range. Ohh and i only need it to run 2 ohms. U guys like that or noo. Suggestions please. Thanks, Vince

So far I'm loving the new system but I've noticed with some songs (the loudest) and also at idle my voltage can drop down to 12v. It always jumps back up to 13.8+ volts after the bass hits... Should I be concerned? I still need to upgrade a ground under the hood, hoping that will help a bit.

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=265-081 Could that amplifier reliably produce at least 30w rms per channel run as a sub amp? rated for a 4ohm minimum, but with plenty of reserve i'll be running it at 2ohms.

If you have a two channel amp and only use 1 channel for now, would all of the amps power from both channels go through that one channel being used or would it stay the same as what it is supposed to put out per channel?

I recently had an apline head unit installed in a toyota camry. I have a memphis audio amplifier pushing four 6X9's and an JBL amplifier pushing two subwoofers. Everything was working fine in my jeep and then yesterday when it was installed in my camry this happened. The head unit puts out an audio signal to the amplifiers only when using the radio, the cd player and ipod can't be heard through the speakers connected to external amplifiers ( but the cd and ipod can be heard through the speakers that are being pushed through the head unit's internal amplifier).

what should my electrical look like to support these and the saz-100.4 ... i am debating on whether i want to buy 2 of these or just get the saz-4500d ... right now i have a 260 amp alt by iraggi and the stock was 130 amp ... i was thinking about buying some of the c and d 100 lb batteries (supposed to be comparable to the hc3800) ... how many would i have to buy to support this amount of power ... i understand i would need a bigger alternator but this is the biggest they make for my car and a dual alt setup is near impossible

I've decided to go ahead and keep my Dcon, but now I need a new amp. I'm on a tight budget and I found these two: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236RFL202/MTX-RFL202.html?tp=35757 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9037_MTX-Audio-XThunder-702X.html Both are right on my budget, but the main thing I'm looking at is that all the controls and inputs are on the same side. Where I'm mounting it (under rear seat) and the way my wires are already ran makes these two a good fit (my old amp was an MTX RFL600D). I've never understood the technical aspects of amps, so what I need to know is which amp would be a better choice?

So right now I am planning out my system. It is going to be about 2600 watts total, using either RF, Kicker, or Sundown amps. I have a 160 amp alt now as well as the stock 730 ampere battery. Of course I will be doing the big 3 upgrade. I am almost certain I may need another little battery just in case, a smaller Kinetik or so. What are the chances of me needing a bigger alt?

Hey everyone, I was just pulling the OEM radio out of my 03 civic, and I was matching up the wires in accordance to my female harness. Everything matches perfectly, EXCEPT within the male harness, there is an extra wire that is red. Here is what the male harness diagram looks like: Radio 12v: white/red Radio ground: black Radio Ignition: yellow/red Radio Illumination: red/black I'm going to skip labeling the speaker wires, because that's all correct. All of that is correct, and this red wire is located directly under the red/black wire which is the illumination wire for the radio. Could this red wires function possibly be the illumination ground? If that's the case, …

Would a 3 or 5 channel amp be effective for a front stage and a sub stage. or would it be best to have 2 seperate amps i saw i believe it was a arc audio 3 channel amp the other day with the perfect power amount for my current plan of comps up front and a single ssa dcon 12 in the rear. On a side note i had seen the fi ssd 12s and they look nice but there is quite a price difference and if im not mistaken they require quite a bit more power than the dcon am i mistaken ? I am pretty sure the dcon is my number one choice im just wondering how it measures up against the ssd what are the major differences?

I recently swapped out my Pioneer DEH-P5900iB for an Alpine IDA-X001. I absolutely love the usability of the unit, but it lacks the equalizer features of the Pioneer. I'm considering getting either an AudioControl EQL or MA MA15EQX for my front stage. It would be mounted on my sub box, not a dash model. Any recommendations? Thanks, -fp
