Hey guys, Just wondering if you could give me some insight on this. When I start to play a new song the front speakers start playing about half a second before the rear ones... The front ones are on an amp, the rear ones are going into the HU... any idea on this?

Need some help and thoughts. When I crank my system and it starts hitting the low bass notes the engine idle falls and it almost kills the truck. It never did this with my old system. Here is a break down of the old system and the new sytem. I've asked around and no one seems to have an idea other than that the pg amps are power hungry. Old system JL 1000/1 2 JL 12W6 JL 300/4 200 amp alt 2 awg from batt to the fuse block and 4 awg to amps. New setup 2 Pg ti600.2 2 JL 12W6 Ti 500.4 200 amp alt Yellow top under hood all charging wires with 0 awg (big 3) 0 awg wire to a second batt in the truck (kinetik 1800) with 4 awg wire to amps. At the moment I am planning on running 4-6k watts to my subs, and about another 1k to mids and highs. I plan on getting 300 amp alt (of course I will have extra batts) but my question is this, is one 300 amp alt gonna be enough or do I need to run dual alts?

Hello SSA! I am selling my Type-R to a friend soon, and getting a Soundstream T5-10 from another friend. I just sold the amp I was using on the R so I could buy a new amp for it, but now this opportunity has presented itself. I am looking for an amp that can do 800-1000 watts at 1 ohm, for around $200. I've been looking around, but all the ones i've found have been Maxxsonics products, which never really do their rated power. Any suggestions from you guys would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  6. Hello all! In today's day and age many vehicles have controls on the steering wheel for controlling functions and features of your factory sound system. Many are discouraged from moving to an aftermarket head unit for the sole reason that they would then lose these controls. Well fear no more! This video will show you my experience with the Axxess ASWC - Steering Wheel Control Interface. I found this interface to be extremely easy to use, easy to install, and easy to program. Following the steps outlined within the vehicle will have you well on your way to controlling an aftermarket head unit with your factory steering wheel controls. I hope you enjoy!

So I've tried both my HU and Ipod for a source to my amp and wired the amp to 2 different subs at different impedances. Always turns out the same way, some rattling sound coming from the speaker. So Obviously it's the amp because I've tried two of everything else. The "sound" plays with the signal, not with engine RPM, so I know it's not related to my ground. You can hear it at low volume with gain turned up just enough for sound to come out. I think it's also causing my amp to go into protect mode prematurely for some reason because it would go into protect around 30 volts on the DMM when setting with a test tone. Amp is a Hifonics 1505d (explains a lot, I know) left ove…

So anyway, my brother owns a towing business/ Car parts yard (aka junk yard) ... And he acquires many things. So he acquired one of those industrial sized Optima Yellow tops and a Regular Optima yellow top. I am building my system and a battery was my next step. He gave them both to me, and I was wondering if I should keep them or sell them and put in a large Powermaster or something??? Both are brand new, still in the plastic rappers

Ok I got some new Knu Konceptz battery terminals with 4g outputs and I'm assuming I will need to cut the stock terminal out. So soldering the wires will be the best option right? Now I know with smaller wires you usually just twist them together and then solder but thats not really feasible with 4g, or is it? If anyone has tips on doing this it would be greatly appreciated. This is the terminal I will be using.

I and a friend (electrical engineer) are going to build an amp for a custom install. Anyone here done this? We are in need of some manufacturing parts. We need to find a generic amp case, dc/dc boost converter 12v to 40v 1000watts, and misc parts like terminal blocks and such. We can sacrafice on old US amps for parts but would love to build it with all new stuff! BTW its going to be a 150watt per channel x5 amp for in car theater!

My headunit is the alpine cde-102 and I got the alpine kce-433iv (full speed connection cable made specifically for my hu). Hooked the cable up to the rear pigtail connection, flipped through all the sources on HU and it shows nothing. If I set it to Aux, I can play music from the ipod but can't control ipod from headunit. So it's acting as a normal 3.5mm jack aux cable... I tried switching settings from Aux input ON to OFF and that only enabled/disabled the music from ipod, but still no headunit controls. My ipod is a touch 2g, I've also tried a ipod nano 2g, and no avail. Anyone have a similar problem or solution? Perhaps my cable is crap, but it seems odd for a new cab…

How do I know what to set my SSF to? The Fs of my sub is 36.4Hz Box is 2 cubes tuned to 38Hz FS of my truck is 37Hz I can give you any T/S params you need, or you can get them from here: http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwo...ta_T9512-44.pdf (PDF file, 693KB) A direct answer of what to set it to is fine, but I would like to know how to calculate it, or at least a "rule of thumb" to go by when setting the cutoff frequency.

Ok, a guy at my trade school let his cousin use his JL A1400 amp, suposedly the cousin sprayed WD40 in the ground connection, why i do not know, and now he says the protect light comes on, i kow hes not the smartest fella and might be hooking it up wrong since he has it back now, he brought it to trade school looked at it, it was fine so he brought it back and it worked, then protect went on again, now hes getting his cousin to buy him a new amp, and he wants to get rid of this one, he brought it for me to look at but neither me nor my teacher can find anything wrong with it, and he wants to sell it for $75, what do yall think?

  22. metal sleeve will probably work from lots of pioneers but im not sure, and have no idea about cross compatability with the trim ring, but its probably the same throughout the line. just opened the box with my deck inside it and it didnt have these items. and before I bid I asked this motherpucker if they were included, and he replied and said yes they were. BUT obviously they werent. I emailed him to see if he just forgot to ship them, but who the hell knows, and just in case I can get my hands on the parts cheap, Id like to keep the deck, if not and he doesnt have them I guess its time for another paypal dispute.....

I was at a local shop today browsing and I see a rf 3sixty .1 says he will take $199 for it. Seems decent as far as price. My plan is for my new Malibu I'm buying everything before I install. 2 sa12's, crescendo bc2000, fosgate t1 components, rf power t400.4..etc those things I have now. I want a clean sounding system that of course hits nice and hard. I have no experience with processors. The components will be in stock locations with no intentions of altering that. Head unit will be changed so no need for the oem integration part of the 3sixty just RCA ins. I assume if I plan to use the 3sixty I'll have to ditch the passive crossovers..correct? Which will become an ac…
