hello everyone, I recently change all my system and after the installation i get a lot of engine noise and alternator noise. the install was like follows: Alternator: a 250 amp Ford alternator modified to use a voltage regulator, so it generates from 10.5 to 18 volts. Power wire: upgrade to 0 gauge from alternator to main battery, to second battery, to capacitor, to distribution block. Ground wire: upgrade to 0 gauge from alternator to engine, to chasis, to battery, to second battery, to capacitor, to distribution block. I have a JBL 1200.1db amplifier... what are your guys opinions on this amplifier?

I'm look at this amp to buy and I'm a bit skeptical because it's pretty cheap (relatively). I have done a search on here and seen some opinions but there are few and contradicting and most are from the beginning of the year so I'm hoping for some other opinions from people who have had one for a while. I'd be planning to push 2 12" Qs. Also perhaps some other recommendations of amps capable of doing 2kw at 1 ohm.

I am looking for a replacement of my eclipse double din. I think I was getting some dc back feeding through my preouts and now they are dead. The unit is old enough not to have it fixed. So like the topic says I am having a tuff time picking out a Double din Hu. I would like three sets of outputs navigation is not a must and a nice looking screen I would like something of good quality that is my main concern. Mainstream is not a requierment, nice quality and a good value are. thanks for the help Matt

Having a sparatic issues with my remote voltage. Out of nowhere, I am having an issue with the amps/xm unit shutting off randomly. Turn the H/U off and it works again. Took out the DMM and found that Idle voltage is 12.4 and dips around 11.4 when the music is playing. Drove around for a few min and it did its thing again at which the voltage was around 5.5 and not sufficient to turn my amps on. I am running two amps, xm unit and SMALL low rpm fan on the remote circuit and have not had a problem for quite awhile...( I don't believe it is related to having too much stuff on the 12V remote) However....My H/U is over 3-4 years old Alpine 9827 Thinking it has gone through its …

i want to meter my car but everyone i hear about with a meter shits out on me when its time to meet up.... so i wanna buy an epic 160 to meter only... nothing else... has anyone used these? how accurate are they to a term lab? can i use this meter to learn my sweet spot ?

The pioneer 880PRS / P80RS has an internal amplifier that can be be turned on and off as required. 1. Can the unit be used in network mode and still use the internal amplifier to output to the front and rear channels? 2. if the channels are still powered in network mode, do they have filtering on them? and can front/rear balance still be controlled from the headunit? hey guys, I'm plannig on running 1 Sundown Audio 3000 to either a 1 15" OR 1 18" FI BTL. What do I need to power this bad boy?? hah. I already did the research and I can get my hands on a 250amp h/o alt. Now the bad part is that im running this in A VW Golf so the space is minimal and going to be very tight for this build. I dont plan on doing competitions, its more for a daily car. Any idea what I need? I'm definately swapping out my primary battery (stock)...anything else? Cheers, Andrew

i can get the clarion for about 200 and the pioneer for about 300. is it worth goin for the pioneer? its my first active set up. i could afford some better speakers if i get the clarion... and i really like the look on the clarion for some reason... idk why...

Ok, i have a pioneer avic N3 but the rca's are bad on the unit. how do i replace them or repair them. i have used a line output converter but i really dont like to use them. any help would be great. THANKS!!!!!!! Eddie G

Just wondering some of your thoughts on the Powerbass series of amplifiers. Good quality? Underrated, Overrated? I am thinking of this being it is cheaper.... or Sundown 1500d. It is about cost, but reliability It will be put on a Fi BL 15" in a 4.0cuft box tuned to 32hz. Powerbass 1500d.
