I measured my GF's CDA-7893's pre-out voltage this morning ... Here are the results. Notes: My multimeter only does AC voltage to 1 decimal point. I only did the subwoofer pre-out, which is rated @ 4 volts. I measured at the end of a 17 foot RCA cable. So I hook up the Alpine to test the Pre-outs today and upon powering it up, the face will not open,or angle at all. I press the buttons and it seems like the mechanism is either stuck or not catching. Anyone have this problem before or know how to remedy it?

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9FMZONgTcX2/p_500CDA9847/Alpine-CDA-9847.html I need a simple deck for my budget build & I found one of these for $95. It's an '05 model, but it looks mint. Opinions?I'm gonna be running a 2-channel & monoblock. Undecided on the 6.5'' components for the front, but I have an SA-12 for sub duty. I've ran the CDA 9813, 9886, & 9855 but right now I'm just looking for a simple setup.

So I've done some research and lots of reviews and people all point to Alpine. I would basically like to know what would be better for me, a 9885 or a 9887? Mostly I'll be using my iPod for the music source, but occasionally I'd play CD's or a friends CD. I drive a 1990 Honda (Yes I know really old) and basically I'm just upgrading my sound system; new speakers and a sub will come with this. But I would like some imput from a 9885/9887 user or ex user and if it's the right choice for me. Also, what is the big difference between the 9885 and 9887 for a 50 dollar difference? Thanks

Hello everyone! Im looking at the cda-9887 and was wondering if this would be a good choice for my setup? My front stage is going to be a 8 inch midbass in each door, and a soundstream FR-60C comp. set with 6.5 inch in kick panels and the tweeters up on the sail panels just above the dash,I want the 8 inch midbass speakers to be bandpass at as low as 60 herts and as high as 400 herts, and then the comp. set to play above 400 herts. I HAVE 2 amps, (ppi 2600) one for the 8 inch speakers and the other for the comp. set. Is the crossover on the CDA-9887 adjustable so …

My headunit is the alpine cde-102 and I got the alpine kce-433iv (full speed connection cable made specifically for my hu). Hooked the cable up to the rear pigtail connection, flipped through all the sources on HU and it shows nothing. If I set it to Aux, I can play music from the ipod but can't control ipod from headunit. So it's acting as a normal 3.5mm jack aux cable... I tried switching settings from Aux input ON to OFF and that only enabled/disabled the music from ipod, but still no headunit controls. My ipod is a touch 2g, I've also tried a ipod nano 2g, and no avail. Anyone have a similar problem or solution? Perhaps my cable is crap, but it seems odd for a new cab…

I bought my Alpine CDE 9881 from a pawn shop for 50 bucks back when I had my old car and I recently got a nissan maxima. One thing I rly hate, this headunit has no aux in front or USB and most important, it doesnt work with a steering wheel adaptor. I have had a few people offer me $65 for it (is that a decent price?) and I think I might sell it and get something a little better. I know crutchfield is usually over priced but their headunits seems fairly priced, especially since they give you all the install stuff and save me around 30 bucks. I'm not going to do much with this headunit, just listen to music on my ipod. Idk how to tune, etc. I'm also running a passive setup…

I have an alpine CDA-9853. I'm not sure what would be the best way to set it up. The crossover has front/rear/sub, I'm not sure about the slope and what Hz to tune them to for best sound. I have the front / rear set to 100hz and the slope to 24. It goes flat/6/12/18/24. I would like some advice on how to tune these. The subwoofer setting is what I'm most concerned about. I have a FI BL 12 and blew it. Now in the process of re coning it =( I'm also not sure what to set my amps LPF to.... I was told 80hz but I want to be sure. Many people also mentioned bass boost being bad, is this true? And one more question, should I keep my subwoofer level on 0 at all time…

Alright so i was fooling around with the options in my headunit and i found something thats called BBE. I looked it up and its a type of processor i think, anyways, i turned it on and everything sounded WAY better, not only louder, but crisper and the midbass also sounded alot better. The ONLY downside i see to this setting so far is that it shuts off at 22/35. Im speachless.

  16. I have had a dva-9861 setup for several years, I have the Digital sound processor, XM radio and HD radio units connected to it and for the first time I tried hooking up an ipod. I tried a 5th Gen Nano and a 7th gen Classic and in both cases it recognizes the ipod, displays the name of the song on the screen and the "Timer" runs to show how long into the song it is but there is No sound at all. is there any internal setting I have to change to make it work? thanks, Sparty

Okay, i've been reading up on head units for quite some time, some of you know this from older threads. I was going to go with the flip out they have, but then decided not too because of the bad reviews i've read. Then i was going with the iDA-X305S Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. but i don't/won't use Pandora, and it seems without it.. it's useless Let me know if you run it and don't use Pandora, tell me how it is. BUT, now i'm planning on the IDA-X303 Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. because it's not all about Pandora. Does anyone on here run this head unit? If so, how do you like it? I only use my Itouch for music, no CDs.. keep that in mind. Side note, check …

Last week my CDA-9886 started doing this thing where, from what I've noticed, at high volumes it will just restart in the middle of a song and keep restarting unless I turn it down. Running 1 Treo SSX 12 powered by an RD 1750.1D at .5 ohms for 2500 watts. Got a nice wal mart bat up front with 800 cca and a shuriken bt100 in the back, big 3 and all 0 gauge of course. Talked to the guy who's sold me RD stuff before and he said if it were the amp it wouldn't making the HU restart like that...which I pretty much knew. From what I gathered it's either a loose wire or worse, the HU isn't getting enough amps because of a shitty power cord to it... just wanted to get some opinion…

  23. Hi all, I will be using the Alpine Imprint Module with my Alpine iDA-x305S. My Question is, will I have to use the disc and mic tuning kit (KTX-H100) for tuning or when I plug the unit in; will it unlock all the tuning features of the imprint and I can tune it manually? because that's what I would prefer.. thanks.

I've had this unit working in my truck for about a year and a half now no problems and yesterday I get in and it turns on plays fine for a few minutes then the screen goes black and I lose all sound. When I turn on my truck all the buttons will light up and I hear the internal fan turn on, also powers on my amps but still no sound or screen. Things I've checked -Inline fuse on the yellow cord (Good) -Remove the button cluster and trying the reset button -Remove the negative cord from my battery for a few mins and hooking it back up and trying to start the unit -Truck running and off with accessory -Removed the radio and plug it in to a 12 volt power supply None of t…

  25. Hey guys, I think there are more Alpine HUs that can run the PXA-H701, but here's the list I'm working off: CDA-9887 good HU 4 volt outputs only $270 if I don't want to play DVDs...great buy All the DVDs only have 2 volt rather than 4 volt. I know most think it doesnt matter..whatever. Price jumps double to go DVD with a screen W200 looks fine, $500 W205 adds optical output, would I use this? $575 D105 the one I was really interested in cuz it plays DviX!! Can't find any on eBay!! D106 $670 I don't see much option change to add all the cost to all of these. So I am deciding either 9887 if not DVD cuz its so much cheaper, W200 if the addition of optical out wont be used, b…
