Hi I jus bought a 12" Fi SSD sub with the copper coils and i was wondering which of these amps do you think is better. A Clarion DPX1851 or An Alpine M850 Looking for better quality and better proformance, etc. Wattage doesnt matter cause they are both capable of pushing this sub

I have a Hyundai XG-300 (ya i know they are not that common) and I'm looking to do the big 3 upgrade with 1/0awg but before i do i want get get a new alternator rather than the stock one that i have(120 amps) Only problem is that i cant find an alternator made for my car that does any thing over stock and i need at least another 80 amps at the minimum..basically im trying to power a btl 15 or grab a re audio xxx 15..pretty much i need to get 2000w + rms out of my charging system.(i am aware of the extra batteries needed)... my question is would any H.O. alt. i find work fine with my car or should i just buy a new stock alt. and get it rewound and altered to put out more p…

Hey guys, I have an old school RF amp. I believe it's a 25.2 Punch (All Grey with the side mounted fins). It has the card on the back of the amp to switch between full/ low and high pass. Does anyone recall the crossover points to this model?

I was on Knu Konceptz and was looking at an In-Line Waterproof ANL Fuse Holder w/ Fuse and KonFUSED 2 Way Digital Distribution System. I was wondering what fuses i would need? i have a 1/0AWG power that will split into a 4AWG and 8AWG for the two amps. the fuses on each of the amps is 40 and 90.

I want some people's opinion on this so i get a better understanding... So, i have 2 amps(u guys know the ones, hehe) that i need to hook up soon taking for granted they work. Now, this is how i have it, but was told to change it so they both are wired the same but have a question so here it goes. One amp is grounded through the battery bank. The other amp is grounded to the chassis. Why? Because the other amp's ground length was a LOT shorter going directly to chassis. I have always heard do not use no more than 1 meter length of ground... Why? If i use 2/0 power and ground, how far can that cable be ran using ground before a problem(what problem) arises? So I finally got around to openning up the Lightning Audio S1.1000D I had running a couple of AA Assissins and two (that I noticed) of the transisters labeled IRF6215 have gone to amp heaven... I don't see any other problems, is it worth trying to replace the fried parts or will I run into more problems as I progress?

I did a bit of searching, and it seems that a few people are against the KLM Copper Clad Aluminum cable. I plan on getting the 1/0 KLM cable for my Sundown 1500D for a 15ft run. KnuKonceptz claims that their 1/0 CCA will do fine as long as you're not running gobs of wattage. Anyone think otherwise? Thanks, Trevor

My pioneer HU died the other day when I hit a pot hole and now I need to replace it with somthing better. I've been looking at the Nakamichi CD-300,400,and 500 and also the pioneer premier 800 and 880. I know the nak's don't have nearly the features of the pioneer, but I'd kinda like to try somthing different, and I like the simplicity. Do any of you have opinions or suggestions? I'd like to get the best sound quality out of my system without spending much. So i'm currently running a 12" Icon and while it's an awesome sub, Im wanting to go bigger already. I just want to push a lot more air. I'm pretty set on an 18" Fi BL or maybe 2 18" Q's. I'm wanting to feed it more power though also so Im thinking of either buying another 1000D and strapping them together, or selling my 1000D and picking up a 3000D. Would that be overkill? Ive got an Eddie Bauer Explorer(v8) and already have the Big 3 upgrade. I'll be picking up an Iraggi alt. and a Yellow Top as well. Would I need to run two batteries with this setup?

Ok so i had an AVIC-D3 while back. I liked it i like the Navi more than anything else. Barely watched DVDs on it. And I'm selling my CDA-9887 now. SO its time for a new headunit, preferably double-din. So heres my question. Whats a good Double-Din. I was eyeing the AVIC-Z2 or Z3 but its just too expensive. I've been looking at eclipse and panasonic. Even clarion for a little while but not anymore. Also Alpine has the new IVA-W505 which looks pretty sexy. So if anyone has an idea or suggestion lemme know. Looking for ease of use, good looks, and good navi. excellent sound.

I've got Dodge Magnum R/T with 160A stock alternator and from what I hear from other LX vehicle owners, the car's computer controls the alternator output...so upgrading my alternator isn't an option. So with my stock alternator what do you think is the most wattage I can run on my stock electrical? I know that an extra battery (or three) may be necessary along with Big three. Also, since my battery is in the rear, not under the hood, how does that effect things?

can a one wire self exciting alt be wired to the same batt as the stock alt ? or can two stock alts run to the same batt ? or would they have to be two seperate power systems ?

Well a few days ago I got a FI Q powered by a Sundown SAE-1000D. So far I'm loving it and everything seems to be working right. I previously had a different amp with a pair of sundown SD-1's and I used all of the same connections. The only thing I really changed was the ground. As ghetto as it may seem, I had a 4awg power cable with 8awg ground. Since I just bought a new to me amp, I didn't want to run it this way anymore and replaced the ground with 4awg. Basically i can tarde my Crunch GP3000D PLUS $400 cash for a Stetsom 7KD in almost perfect condition. Only problem is a slightly bend mounting tab. Right now I have a DVC 2 ohm 12" BTL to the GP3000D and want a nice, clean efficient amp. Next summer I plan to do a wall in my accord with 2 1ohm 18" BTLs to maybe this 7kd if the trade goes well. So for the time being, I will run the BTL off of the 7kd at 4ohms and still be running around 2500 rms. What do you all think about this trade one my end?

Hey all. I just bought a 1993 Ford Tbird Super Coupe and the tape deck isn't going to cut it. I want a cd player that I can go active with. I was looking at the Eclipse 3200, I'm not sure if that's a good choice. I trust that you guys can help me out. Budget: No more than 300. Listening Preferences: Classic and modern rock. Knowing I would at the very least replace the factory speakers in my 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata I did not go with the Bose System when I purchased the car. It does have the PRHT or power retractable hard top as well as system controls on the steering wheel which is why for now I am going to try to keep the factory head unit. Okay guys, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I will be buying an 18" BTL any day now, I'm going to run it with a Sundown SAZ3000.1, at 2 ohms for daily driving and 1 ohm for comps and such, I will back it up with a Kinetik HC1400, and 2 HC1800's, I will also do my Big 3 in 1/0 gauge, my problem is my alternator, it is a stock 90A, I took it in to a shop today to see if they could rewind it and get more juice out of it and they said they couldn't do anything for it, but I talked to Nathan Pedicord from Excessive Amperage about a 225A that would fit. Why am I unable to get it rewound or built up? Do I even need it? Or will the Kinetiks be fine. Any input would be great, thank…
