Does anybody know what the max load Stinger 0 gauge wire has? I have my h.o.(150a) alternator to batt. wire fused at 300a, and I'm wondering if that fuse rating is too high for the wire and if I need to drop down to a 250a fuse. Is this even something to worry about? I just wanna make sure the wire is fused correctly just in case something happens.

So i have an orion 300w amp model t475. it is plenty amazing! except the bass boost button just distorts but every other option is good and it seams under rated. But a while back i put it in my friends car and forgot about it. so it was pushing 1 15 and 2 6x9s and she said it just stopped...she had her friend put in an old american legacy amp that was 400w with all of the gain and hz controls ripped apart from the board........ so this 300w amp was given to me and now its back in my hand. i got home and hooked up a computer 12v supply to it and the power supplys breaker flips whenever i try to start the amp. i had just tested the american legacy amp on the same supply a …

I'm in a quandary. I need to make a quick decision on amp. Equipment I have is 220 amp alt, big three done, two hc 2400. Subs are two fi ssd dual 2, box tuned to 45 Hz. I plan on competing in s3 and trying to decide which amp to get before pre-order ends. Would you go with the saz-2500 or the saz-3500. All info and suggestions appreciative.

ok so i have a 2006 chevy colorado and im going to be getting a 270 amp singer alternator that comes with an overdrive pulley that adds 30-40 amps. and im pretty dead set on getting an xs battery for a secondary battery and i was wondering what size or model i should get. and i wanted to keep a battery with top posts under the hood and was wondering if i could go with like an optima yellow top under the hood or if i had another option for under the hood? ill be running a crescendo bc3500 on two fi bl 15s.

Again am using a US amp MD.3D. I have a HO alternator from Nations and a kenetik HC 2000. Would this be enough to supply this amp with the needed power. Am wanting to run 2 15" subs, 1000 watts a piece. Thanks in advance for the response.

I'm looking into getting a Pioneer In-Dash DVD. I want the AVH-P4100, but do you guys think it's worth the extra $100 or so than the AVH-p3100? Also, what about the p4100 vs. the p4000?

well im saving for a new head unit, my old jvc is not reading my mp3 cds well, the remote wire is burnt, and does not have a direct connection for my ipod i was think about getting a kenwood(http://www.crutchfield.com/s_113KDCX595/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X595.html?search=kenwood+car+stereo) but found this jvc with a monitor and gps, but is refurbished(http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9842_JVC-KD-NX5000-R-B.html) which one would be better, it is going on a 2000 silverado, and my interior lights is blue, just in case

Well as soon as it powers up, it starts to oscillate on one frequency whether or not there is an instrument plugged into it or not. And it doesn't change when the instrument is played. Pretty simple set-up. Uses a simple linear power supply and an op amp as an output device. Could it be a bad input R? I had a similar thing happen with another amp when an input R was broken. Any other thoughts?

Today I'm going over to Best Buy to buy a new head unit. I would normally buy from Crutchfield or Amazon but I don't want to mess up my new car. Anyway there were a few different ones that I was looking at and I wanted some opinions on them. Hey everyone, I was just wondering about the capability of a USB splitter operating off of a head unit. I'm specifically talking about an Alpine CDA-9886 but this would apply to any HU that has a rear USB port. The reason I'm asking this is because if I ever wanted to use a flash drive rather than an Ipod. It's not practical to use a flash drive for those kinds of decks. I'd be getting a 1 male input/4 female output cable, but I have to know if it would work first. Thanks again for the help!

Hi,I was wanting some guidance on where i should take my electrical to minimize voltage drops. The amps are: hifonics BRZ2100.1 and a soundstream RUB500.4 Electrical: 150A alternator, shuriken BT-80 and shuriken BT-20 (both measure a good 12.7-12.9). 4 gauge big 3, 4 gauge to the soundstream and 0 to the hifonics I was aiming more for a bigger alternator. According to math, give or take a 14.4V crank 14.4v/2600w=180.5A. I'm not sure what current the car is drawing from that. would i be safe with a 240A alternator or do i need to just go 270? and would upgrading the big 3 to 0 be necessary? Thanks!

I did an install way back, maybe 15 years ago on an 88 Nissan p/u. New speaker wire all around, two amps, amp board behind seat, tho whole enchilada. The 1st time i ever attempted such a thing. My p/u had a fiberglass shell that attached to the cab via a rubber boot. There was a carpet kit in the bed of the truck which held my sealed box with two 10" JL subs powered by an old school Rockford amp (Punch DSM). I had Pioneers for speakers powered by another Rockford 4 way. A set of 6.5's in the doors, and a set of 6x9's in the back installed into the carpet kits cubbys that it had. I am looking at the following three headunits and would like to see what you guys recommend. If you have another option let me know about it. Time correction and sound quality are most important. The crossover abilities may come into play but my amps have that area covered. Thanks for your input. Alpine CDA 9887, Eclipse CD7100, Pioneer DEH-P880PRS. All of these do the basic features I need such as satellite radio and Ipod. I do not car anything about the area serve in the Eclipse. I am more concerned with which one would give me the best sound quality performance and have the best build quality.

Anybody know of a place in AZ where I can get my alternator rewound? Because I cant seem to find an HO alt anywhere sooo I think I have to just get it redone.... any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

can a one wire self exciting alt be wired to the same batt as the stock alt ? or can two stock alts run to the same batt ? or would they have to be two seperate power systems ?

how do i calculate power from my amp. if i have my sub wired at 1 ohm and i play a test tone say 60hz and measure the voltage how do i calculate that into watts. i know you multiply volts by current to get watts but how do you know the current at diffrent loads. not sure if im missing something i just always see people say i measured this many volts at this load so it is putting out this many watts and i never see a current measurement. is there a standard current output per load or something. just want to learn a little more thanks

When I accelerate really quick my voltage drop to like 12.Didi not do this before big three. Any ideas?
