Hi Guys, A friend of mine needs to finish the big3 in his car. He's wondering how to put the wire between alt to batt. From stock, there is a wire coming from the + of the alternator, going to the starter(démareur in French !) And this same wire goes to the + batt after the starter. So, the question is : can we just put a wire between the alt and the batt without hooking it to the starter ? Or do we have to follow the stock wiring ? Waiting for you, all the experts, please!!!

I have a quick question concerning the Alpine 9886 headunit. I know it`s not the best to use dynamic bass features such as bass boost, but what about the bass feature that lets your widen your bass (Q0,Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4)? I notice the bass gets noticeably louder when I bring it up the scale towards Q4 but also less accurate, is toying with this feature when playing really loud bad for my woofer or am I good to go?

Hey everyone, I was just looking into buying the female adapter end for my '03 Civic radio harness so I don't have to chop anything up in there. Everything seems straight foward except a couple of wires that I'm not really sure how to match them up. Here's the color coordinations for each harness. 03 Stock Harness: Radio 12v: Red/White Radio Ground: Black Radio Ignition/Acc: Yellow/Red Radio Illumination: red/black Factory amp turn on: N/A Power Antenna: N/A Female Harness: Aftermarket HU harness: Power Antenna Lead (Blue) . Remote Turn-On Lead (Blue/White) Audio Interrupt In Lead (Pink/Black) Illumination Lead (Orange) Switched Power Lead (Ignition) (Red) Battery L…

So I in the market in buying a 4 channel amp I need about 100 rms per channel going cheap on the amp crunch or MB quart. But my question was if i buy the amp i can use 2 channels for my front stage and can I leave the other 2 for a sub? And most amps are only bridgeable at 4 ohms so this means it is 20 ohms each channel? And my sub is a 4 ohm DVC so if i wire it 2 2ohms it going to be at 1 ohm? So what I'm saying is will I be able to run a front stage and a sub together?

when running 2 dual 4 ohm woofers to a 1 ohm load, do you have to connect the wires that go to the amp both to the same woofer? or can you put the positive on one speaker and the negative on the other?

I'll be running a bi-amp setup in the near future. As of right now the amps will be: Memphis MC3004 (75x4 @ 4 ohms) Memphis ST or MC 1000D (600x1 @ 2 ohms) Part 1: I have never done a bi-amp setup and was curious about the power wire. If I run this through a fused distrubution block, do I need an in-line fuse between the positive battery terminal and distribution block, or will the individual fuses in the block suffice? Part 2: I figured up the current draw on both amps based on the sticky in this section. It looks like: MC3004 will be drawing 32.5A 1000D will be drawing 44A I am currently thinking that I will run a 0/1AWG wire from the battery to the distro block, th…

Alright i'm running 4 Dual 4 ohm speakers aiming for 2 ohms. Theory #1: Wire two subs in parallel separate (yeilds 2ohms a sub). Then wire these together in parallel yeilding 1 ohm total for 2 speakers. Then, wire the other two subs the exact same way yeilding two sets of speakers ran down to 1 ohm per set. Now im running one amp. Then run these two sets together in series on the amp yeilding 2 ohms. Only question, wouldn't this i swap the polarity in one set of the speakers??????? Theory #2: Run each sub in series (yeildin 8 ohms a sub). Then run all of the subs in parallel at the amp. Yeilding 2 ohms. I think this is the correct way!! Im going to finish my box tom …

When an active x-over is set, amps that power mids and highs, do the x-overs on these amps need to be set to Full Pass? Also, amps that power subwoofers, do these amps' LPF need to be set as high as possible? and if their is a subsonic filter on the active x-over, does the subsonic filter on the amp need to be set as low as possible?

Quicktifier There is one user on here that uses this and i have searched and found no comparison to the before and after results of this device installed on a vehicle. Basically, it's main purpose is to make your alternator more efficient under load or stress. When the alt is getting hot, this will help to prevent loss of output as much. Whereas i've also been trying to find direct results of alt failure, #1 being directed to heat which in turn #1 part to fail is the Bridge rectifier. So... this is where i'm at right now. Time + Current = heat you can run hundreds or even thousands of amps for a couple seconds off a stock alternator as long as it doesnt heat up so fast i…

A buddy of mine just got two power acoustik demon 6000d series amps. I looked them up and they said they would do 3500 @ 1 ohm and 7000 @ 2 ohm when strapped. I've never seen per heard these amps so he enter to know if anyone has any knowledge of about them. I thinly its very sketchy ratings for the price. Anyone have an idea?

Here's the deal, in my previous few installs, I had been using a simple 12$ RCA bass control knob. You run RCA's from the HU to the knob, then from the knob back to the amplifier controlling the input level from the head unit to the amp. Simple. Well I recently got a new amp, which came with a Remote bass control knob. I hooked this knob up to the amp via the telephone jack looking remote cable, while still running my RCA's through the original knob. I've been keeping the RCA knob at 100% and using the remote to control the levels.. My question is, is this a bad idea for any reason at all? Perhaps output voltage from the RCA's or something of that nature? Also, what are t…

I am new to car audio so please pardon any ignorance found in my questions: I recently added a self Powered sub (memphis) to my aftermarket radio (kenwood) The sub is an enclosed unit I have power at the box. when I plug in both RCA cables I dont get any sound, however I can unplug one of the cables at the box and the sub sounds fine (to my untrained ear). I was just curious as to what might be causing this. Any answers would be appreciated Thanks

I need to order 3 pair of RCA's before the SWVA TeamSSAudio meet, wanting to install 8053, anyway, I have not bought high end RCA's in a while, and I am not going to buy monster cable, I have bought mostly decent RCA's for normal needs. For this install, hopefuly for SQ competition, if not just for high end SQ in my car. I would like to stay under $50ish. I am considering the Knukonceptz Krystal Cable, RF, and maybe the Tara labs cable that Nick Lemons reffered to. Any help in this would be nice, hope to order asap.
