Does it matter that much about the audio cables I think they run from the amp to the head unit. At sound advice they have 25$ and they have 100$ ones is there that much of a difference I wouldn't want them to have to re run them.

Just like the title says. If my woofer can handle more that what my amp can throw at it, how would I go about setting my gain to absolute max without clipping? If you say you can hear it then please record me a sample and send it to me so I can hear it for sure. Thanks jerry

  4. Having a sparatic issues with my remote voltage. Out of nowhere, I am having an issue with the amps/xm unit shutting off randomly. Turn the H/U off and it works again. Took out the DMM and found that Idle voltage is 12.4 and dips around 11.4 when the music is playing. Drove around for a few min and it did its thing again at which the voltage was around 5.5 and not sufficient to turn my amps on. I am running two amps, xm unit and SMALL low rpm fan on the remote circuit and have not had a problem for quite awhile...( I don't believe it is related to having too much stuff on the 12V remote) However....My H/U is over 3-4 years old Alpine 9827 Thinking it has gone through its …

I own a pioneer DEH-11E, and because I've got a new sub on the way, I want to set everything up right this time. Basically, right now I have most of the settings maxed out and/or close to it. I heard that I should never use the "loud" setting, as it will be detrimental to SQ, so I'm curious, what does the "loud" setting do? Is it like bass boost, where it only boosts one frequency? Also, on my HU I am able to set BASS, TREBLE, MID, and "SLA." What is this "SLA" and what does it do? When I add to it, it seems to do the same thing as the "loud" setting, but that is just what I hear with these ears of mine: what does it actually do? Finally, I'm going to start running m…

I'm going to be building a wall in my 2 door Chrysler Sebring....2 Sundown Audio 3000D's, 1 15" custom Nightshade(lil bit of tweaking) and a Sundown Audio 100.4 for component set. I'm running all 0 gauge Kicker Hyperflex wiring, Optima Yellow Top up front with big 3 done with the only alternator available for my vehicle...a Load Boss 160 Amp alternator. My question being....I know of all these battery companies....and I've used Kinetik but want to go a different route. How are Powermaster...DEKA Intimdators and any other high amperage brand of AGM batteries stacked up against eacvh othe…

Hey guys! I have a 2000 Avalon XLS that has the stock JBL system with it. (6 disc in-dash CD Changer, factory amp, 7 speaker system with IB in rear deck for 8" Subwoofer) I thought I could handle it for awhile but i'm contemplating replacing it with an aftermarket player. I've never worked on a system with this factory amp in it. Is this that big of a concern? Or what are the workarounds for this? If its to complicated, I'd just consider running a speaker leve to RCA converter and running a sub that way and sacrificing not upgrading the highs at all. Otherwise my plan was to run some 6.5" Koda components active with an IB sub in the rear deck for an SQ based install What …

Hey guys, I finally found 2 amps that I'm trying to choose between for my 4 SA-10s. I am either going to purchase a used saz 2000 or the saz 3000. I was wondering what kind of electrical is needed to run power one of these 2 beasts. I currently have a DC HO Alt that Is 110/170 idle/max and a kinetik 1400 under the hood with a kinetik 600 in the rear. ( I will also have 0 awg ran from front to back and 0 awg big 3 ). I'm not sure what is needed to keep voltage up with the 2k or 3k? Should this be enough? I'm not sure what most people have these on, I saw a few people say they had stock 90 amp Alts with just 2 large batts so I wasnt sure! Thanks guys!

So I was browsing the classified looking at all the junk that people wanted a ton for when I came across this. Even better was what I paid. Just wish I had a use for it, its been sitting in a closet for years I was told, its got some scratches but its a huge beautiful amp. Please bear with me as I have never posted pics on a forum. I have heard several people say that Class D amps are not good full range. I agree that a Mono sub amp is not made to work at over ~250 hz. However I have seen several high end companies making them for home theater. (And not as an entry level product) Crown now uses this in their XLS series pro audio amps, again a full range product. So I found a Class D car amp, and I'm interested if anyone has used it. The Incriminator Audio 6.4 4-channel amplifier, sold on this site! How does this compare to a class a/b amp? Are there trade offs for going to the type of amp? I'd think that the efficiency would make it much easier on your electrical system. If anyone has used this, wha…

The guy has two for sale a big one and a portable one. 100 for the big one. 50 for the portable. I can't tell which one is which but is this a good deal anyways? I don't know how much I could use this or even how. But I know they're expensive. So my question is should I call him and get it now or just settle for setting my gains with a dmm or just by ear? Here's the link. http://austin.craigslist.org/ele/1560089213.html

I have bought 4 2608d's for my setup and I have several threads where people have said you can get better amps. The thing is you can always get better amps becuase some company will always make something better. I have been installing for 20 years and have seen almost everything from the begining and have fallen in love with many amps only to be let down by the company becuase they stop making something, it's the nature of the biz! anyway I will post actual test results of my setup and prove or disprove all theory's

I will be running a memphis 16-2000d on a old style 18" btl. I also will be running a 400 watt kicker amp for 2 CDT component systems. I have a 200 amp alternator and i just ran into a deal for two D34 red top optima batteries. Will one red top in the front and one in the back be enough to support my system? All will be going in a 1996 gmc suburban. I know yellow tops or kinetiks will probably be better, if the red tops wont be good enough anybody know were i can get a deal on something better?

I've had my koda 8's and ID cx62's sitting around for god knows how long. There is someone over at CA.com selling this amp http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171515 for 185 shipped. That's a really really good price for the power it puts out. Is there something wrong with MB quart? Why isn't anyone really showing interest? I just want to know b/c I'm about to pm him about picking it up but need to know what I'm about to purchase. I just want to put 150 to the kodas and maybe 100 to the ID's. Tell me what you think

The local Circuit City is going out of business, they have all their car audio stuff marked down 40%. They've got a few Kicker ZX750.1 amps, originally $500..... and you math wizards have already figured out that they are now only $300. Rated at 750rms at 2 ohms, are they stable into a lower load? Like 1.6 (5 Dual 4ohm coil subs in series/parallel? 1.33 (3 4ohm subs in parallel)? Do they put out more than their rated power?
