is there a technical way of finding out how much power an amp puts out @ 3 ohm? my boston pro60s are 3 ohm, and i was thinkin about gettin a zx550.2, and thats 205w rms x 2 @ 2 ohm, and i think 175 @ 4, i could take a ball park guess around like 190ish maybe, but is there an actual way to figure that out with math, or do i gotta get the amp, get a DMM, etc etc? i have a alpine glide touch that is pooping out so im trying to consider a new head unit for my truck... i would like it to have 3 sets of 4volt preouts and aux and usb in front also mp3 compatble. is the clarion cz401 ok? or should i go with pioneer? price range would be around 100-240

just ordered 3 sundown audio sa8 dual 2 ohm -400watts rms ---i no there are a few ways i can wire them up one way does 1.33 ohms and other is 3 i think cant remember got to double check that one -----ill be in a sealed box. -----need an amp that will push them it will be a daily driver so something where they can run for a good hour with out damaging anything

Hi sorry if this Is In the wrong area.Ok, I bought a c90 on ebay,it suppose to work, BUT when i got it does not face wont go all the way down to allow a cd to be inserted, And the seems to be a cd jamed In It.The dang thing looks new even the cooper body is almost flawless.My question is can It be fixed? and are parts even avil. It came with org. box both remotes and instruction manuel. It Is a very nice piece. thanks.

I will be running a memphis 16-2000d on a old style 18" btl. I also will be running a 400 watt kicker amp for 2 CDT component systems. I have a 200 amp alternator and i just ran into a deal for two D34 red top optima batteries. Will one red top in the front and one in the back be enough to support my system? All will be going in a 1996 gmc suburban. I know yellow tops or kinetiks will probably be better, if the red tops wont be good enough anybody know were i can get a deal on something better?

I have a 2008 Silverado Single Cab and am getting a Single 10" SSA Icon and would like to buy a Planet Audio RXD1400 to push it at 2 Ohms. It will be giving it 1000Watts at 2 Ohms. Will stock electrical be sufficient? I also have 4 Gauge wiring which isn't to long due to truck being a single cab. What gauge wire should I use for speaker inputs?

I just ordered an Audioque 2200d and I want to order the wiring kit now, not when the amp gets here and want to know what size cable does this amp take? I'm speaking of the main (+) and (-).

I have a 1992 buick century custom with a 3.3l v6 and it has a delco stock alternator, and it already has the Big 3 installed and my lights dim really badly now that I hooked up the xcon today, my last sub was 1000rms now im doing 1600rms on the amp, and my cars electrical hates it. I can here the bass distort whenever the voltage needle dips. So I was looking for a cheap upgrade since this is only gonna be my car for less than a year. I found a rebuild kit to upgrade a delco cs130 alternator to 180 amps, which the cs130 is what replaces this alternator if i go to autozone, but i'm not sure if thats whats in it now. I had it for about 2 years now, I updated the software for it last week. Now it's a pain in the **s. I thought everything was fine, been doing good, now tonight it want connect through my Tungsten E2. It says i need the 3sixty.1 software to connect. My 3sixty.2 thinks it's a .1 now all of a sudden. I have reset everything, Uninstalled and re-installed the software to have the same thing come up. It thinks its a .1 for some reason. Any help well be appreciated.

Is anyone out there running lot's of power (+2KW) on a stock electrical system?

i recently was helping a friend install an aftermarket headunit in an 02 grand am and the new unit wont turn on. so i put the factory unit back and it didnt turn on. what has happened here? i normally install headunits on older cars and i never ran into this problem. any ideas on how to fix? i believe its the security but i dont know how to fix the problem

My birthday is coming up and id really like to increase my power to my sub as much as possible with $200. I currently have a power bass 400 rms at 4 ohms. My sub is single 4 ohm. Rated for 500rms. But id like to give it quite a bit more. Whats the biggest amp i can get for 200? I have a fi x12. In a ported box tuned to 33 ish maybe a tad higher. But i dnt play it at high volumes for more than maybe 10-15 mins. So im not too worried about anything blowing. I was thinking about geting a recone and try to recone it to dual 2 ohm.. I picked up a cdx-c90 the other day but it didnt come with either of the 2 remotes. The remote I need is the RM-X9. Does anyone know if theres another sony remote thats comptaible with this deck?

So I am currently running a Cadence iA7 and couldn't be more pleased with it's performance. I just ran across a deal from friend who is selling a RF Power T1500-1bdCP brand new for $300. I know I will get substantially more power from the Rockford and I think I am going to switch the two out unless someone tells me why they would keep the Cadence over the RF. Give me your thoughts!

Please correct me if I'm wrong. In an instance where a persons deck only allows you to turn up the sub only soo much but you want it louder, in order to make it louder, rather than turning your amps gain up excessively damaging your subs you'd use a line driver. Correct?

I have been looking at upgrading my electrical system to support my future audio system. I am looking at either XS Power D1200 or Kinetik HC1200 for my main battery replacement. As they are the largest that will fit my factory battery location (as near as I can tell). Upon pricing I found a link to Batteryspec.com which sells Kinetik knockoff batteries named Tempest. Have anyone ever heard of or tried any of those batteries? And are they worth even putting in a vehicle? $124 Tempest or $248 Kinetik (shipped prices). big difference. But is the lower price worth it, that's the question?

Hey guys! I have a 2000 Avalon XLS that has the stock JBL system with it. (6 disc in-dash CD Changer, factory amp, 7 speaker system with IB in rear deck for 8" Subwoofer) I thought I could handle it for awhile but i'm contemplating replacing it with an aftermarket player. I've never worked on a system with this factory amp in it. Is this that big of a concern? Or what are the workarounds for this? If its to complicated, I'd just consider running a speaker leve to RCA converter and running a sub that way and sacrificing not upgrading the highs at all. i'm running one mtx 8100d to one fi bl 18. i have a second 8100d and was thinking about using a maxxlink to strap them but not sure if it will kill the sub. my second thought was to sell both amps and get a saz-1500. the more i read about them the more i'm leaning towards going with sundown. so anyway is the epic-160 worth getting?

Can anyone compare em to the 8053? I have the option of buying the 8053 right now but i need to make sure it has a RCA input for my Omnifi. Plus wanna make sure whether there is much of a difference between this unit and the new one. Plus the new one matches with my dash better.
