At the moment I am planning on running 4-6k watts to my subs, and about another 1k to mids and highs. I plan on getting 300 amp alt (of course I will have extra batts) but my question is this, is one 300 amp alt gonna be enough or do I need to run dual alts?

Well I was driving around my area full tilt today no problems. But when i took my 20 min drive to work after about 15 min of playing full tilt it starts going into protect. Only when its loud though. Anyone know what could be the problem? I double checked all my wiring im pretty sure its all right the fact that it only goes into protect at the loudest volume. My thinkings are though Could my rca's put out a bad signal? I am only running 4g to my ground could that not be effecient enough? I dont have my wired fused coming off the second battery but the distance is very short could that be the problem? Also earlier i did accidently put the power wire into the ground input s…

Hey I've got 2 12" ssd's to a 08kickerzx2500.1 with a Kinetik hc1400 in the back. The first 4 weeks I had the setup it was great, working to what I had expected. Some said they have never heard any cars around here get so low. (tuned to 33hz) Then...last week I turn my PAC bass knob all the way up and then I hear the bass cut off, I then turn down the knob and it comes right back on. I turn it back up and after like 30secs it will cut off and on. After a few days it seemed to me as it was a battery problem, like when it was turned up loud the batteries could not charge fast enough so it cut off. I took it to auto zone and they checked both batteries and they said the k…

ok so i have a CDA-9887 Maybe its because i'm not using it to its full potential, maybe i'm just picky but man i am starting to really dislike this radio. Seems like it has a chitty tuner. Because after 2 months now i've finally managed to procure an antenna adapter for my car. And i can't get good reception on some local channels and there are some channels that were super strong i can't catch at all. Now i'm wishing i'd stuck with pioneer 880PRS like i originally wanted. Anyone know if this is normal? i don't have the multEQ tuner either so maybe if i had that i'd like my system more. Also the 9887 is supposed to have 4.0V outputs, but i find this hard to believe…

I have a question if anyone can help answer it. this is the problem i'm having. i have 2 of the fi 18 bl's. i'm running them with 2 of the mtx 7801d amps. 1 per sub. this is the part that gets weird. i have all thing hooked up but not the remote wire to the amps yet. the subs start freaking out. when the gains and the db boost on the amps are turned all down the subs still move a little without signal from the deck yet. as soon as you start to increase the gains the subs do it again. like i said NO signal from the deck. i have to use the db boost on the amps, because as soon as i hook up the bass knob the subs freak out. i'm kind of lost. when i have hooked up the remote …

I've had this head unit for nearly three years now and it still works great. I am now looking into putting together a 2-way active setup in a regular cab ford ranger and was wondering if this will be able to run active. I'm new to active setups and I am not sure what to look for in a headunit and would like to keep my 9830 if possible because I am low on cash. Here is a list of the specs: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9eC4Vpu3XuP/A...px?i=500CDA9830

  10. Heres the deal. Ive got a 08 explorer and in this thing is a huge ass nav screen. I want an aftermarket HU (pioneer type) obvioulsy for the EQ options, . I thought of tearing out the nav screen and replacing it with the aftermarket, but, most pioneers (moderately priced up 500$) are single din. Which in turn would leave me with an ass ton of space. Two questions/two scenarios. 1.) If i were to rip out the nav screen is there anything i could get to take up the extra space. Ive looked for adapters and such, but, nothin.2.) If i were to keep the nav screen in and mount my HU somewhere else, how would i wire them so both are functioning? I would like them functioning conside…

I am tryin to figure out if i should install an isolator in my setup and have been reading a LOT of info about this and have came across a LOT of things that i have never read about before from others. I've read things like- Not using an isolator can hurt the starter by it receiving a superior CA load and may kill it quicker. Showing off with car off will kill starting battery. Now, i've been on Stinger's site and i gotta call them about some things because they got some products and descriptions that are just begging for answers! Such as their SRVG which shuts off power altogether in the rear to prevent front battery from dying.... really? How? And also, their 200A rela…

I really hope somebody out there can help me. I have a Fusion amp(FP-1000) I also have a remote bass control for the amp. Which is a little box that goes up front with you, giving you the feature to be able to control the gain on the amp. It is connected to the amp by a telephone like plug and cord. Here is the picture of it. http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/products.php...p;product_id=97 I am not sure if they let you post links on here, sorry if you can't see or read the link. I went back to the shop that installed the audio setup in my car. He feels really bad for the bass control that I have now stopped working. He contacted Fusion to get me a new one which fusion says t…

Hello everyone! Im looking at the cda-9887 and was wondering if this would be a good choice for my setup? My front stage is going to be a 8 inch midbass in each door, and a soundstream FR-60C comp. set with 6.5 inch in kick panels and the tweeters up on the sail panels just above the dash,I want the 8 inch midbass speakers to be bandpass at as low as 60 herts and as high as 400 herts, and then the comp. set to play above 400 herts. I HAVE 2 amps, (ppi 2600) one for the 8 inch speakers and the other for the comp. set. Is the crossover on the CDA-9887 adjustable so …

i was browsing the forums and i noticed that someone used what appeared to be regular steel nuts, bolts and washers as a wire terminal to pass wires from the sub through its enclosure (saw it in the pictures of the guy doing a review on a Fi Q 18" sub). i was wondering if anyone could confirm this as being a good method to pass wires through a sub enclosure, or should i just stop being lazy and cut out a small square in my box and put a factory made terminal to pass wires through. im guessing as long as it's a nice thick bolt with zero resistance there should be no drop in wattage. i was just hoping i could get some feedback on using this method. thanks-phil

  20. I posted this on another forum but didn't really get the best answer so I figured I see what you guys had to say First off I am going to be running an 800 watt sub amp with an FI sub (Not sure which one yet) And probably a speaker amp around 100x2 watts I have a 94 honda accord with a 70 amp stock alt, I am going to be doing the big three for sure. What other upgrades do you think I am going to need to do? If I have to upgrade my alt would one from ebay do the trick or is that not recommended? I was looking at this battery for the trunk as well http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7324_Kinetik+HC+600.html

I have a Denon DCT-A100 HU and I have been looking for some good external signal processors since the Denon has absolutely nothing as far as processing goes. I'm basically looking for at least a 30 band EQ that has all your basic features, time alignment, etc. What are my options? My setup is as follows: 2 Fi Q 12's (possibly upgrading to 18's in the future) running in an IB Sundown SAZ-1500 on the subs And what's coming soon: Hybrid Technologies Legatia 3-way set (8" woofer, 4" midrange, 1" tweeter) Sundown SAX-100.4 on the mids and woofers Sundown SAX-100.2 on the tweets

Hey yall i have a 1997 f150 with everything stock. i plan on eventually upgradeing the whole audio system. I am hopeing to get the 4 channel sundown audio amp(i dont no the exact name of it, to lazy to look it up). I also plan on buying either a 10" SSa or the Ssd subwoofer and powering it with a sundown 1000d. I have a budget of about 1200 dollars and i really dont want to up grade my alt. My question is do you all think that the 95 Amp Alt be enough to power the system with little to no light dim? Thanks in advance.
