I ordered my 270 amp alternator from Dc Power Engineering on 12/18/09. They got my payment and I have yet to receive any information. I've called them and left messages with no avail. For the people who bought alternators from Dc Power Engineering how long has it taken to get a shipped notification? It's been almost two weeks and I'd like to get it in (Who wouldn't?). At first their customer service was Grade A but now i'm starting to see its not as great as i thought. They say they'll return calls and such. Even if they didn't have any information on it it would be nice for them to call and simply say "we don't have any information". But I guess it will be another week…

After my friend pulled his equipment out to get to his spare tire, he replaced it, but could not get the fuses to stop blowing. The way the story has been told to me, he has hooked everything back up the way it is supposed to be, started it, blew the fuses, bought new fuses, blew those, too. What am I missing here? Or what isn't he telling me? Anyone have a solution?

Looked around for a bit and decided to go with this dual rectifier alt from alternatorparts.com . I ran it via specs of their website ( BTW i got the Quicktifier210 with a 220 amp denso alt). Guy told me it would do full output at 1200rpm( 120 i think at Idle). I upgraded the big three and ran it all with 1/0 Knu Koncept Kolossus wire. I am not running much, Double din JVC HU and a lightning audio 600.2 on a single W0 10. Gain is set to half. Optima Red top batt. My ordeal is, that the moment I put it in gear everything dims. i have a kenwood KDC-MP245 in my 1997 honda accord with no subs hooked up just my alpine sps-600 speakers in the doors and when i turn it up and the bass hits the head unit will start dimming but not the head lights. does anyone know why this is happening?

Just got a call from my dad and he's been having problems with his OEM HU and Cd's getting stuck. Chevy Silverado 2005. Can someone help me with this situation and also provide info on how to prevent this from happening. Thanks!

I have a 93 civic with a 70 amp alternator. Right now the alternator is producing too much voltage( up to 20 volts) I suspect that my 900 watts rms stereo system(mtx tc 4001 front chan. @ 4 ohms rear chan. @ 2 ohms, mtx mxa6001 A 2ohms) is to blame. So I decided to get a HO alternator, but the closest guy that does it is in brampton a few hours drive. After doing some homework I found out that added a second isolated battery may provide better protection. Does anybody have any advice, pros or cons and what would you do? HO aternator, Second battery or both? I have already upgraded my battery and wireing for those who will ask.

4 years ago or so I got a SWEET deal on 6 Optima Red Tops. I can't find the guy and I don't remember what company he's from. Ring any bells for anyone? Anyway most people don't run Optima, why not? I'm assuming because more hours of sotrage can be had for less? I like the idea of dry/gel cells so that I can mount them any way I want inside the vehicle and no hydrogen gas released from charging. I got a buddy that just bought a JVC KD-DV7300 H/U. This model does not come with a built in monitor. He is wanting to connect the unit so that the DVD monitor is capable of running all the time. He has a 13" external screen that he has previously used. The unit has a light green wire that is supposed to be connected to the brake line. Is there a way to over ride this? Thanks.

I have 2 fi SSD woofers in my 2001 Celica and the lights dim real bad every time the bass hits. I have a 2.4 farad capacitor, is that even worth putting on? or should I go for a new alternator or battery

I'm going to hook up the rubicon 702 to an FI SSD12 with copper coils in a sealed enclosure 1.6 cubic feet. This amp has 700RMS watts. Now what should I set the low pass crossover frequency to? Should I set the subsonic filter? If so to what frequency and should I also set the boost?

I believe it's the Xtamt 1001/x amp. My config is a Xtant 604x running my highs, and the 1001/x running my JL Audio 13W7. Before the sub went totally out, the sub (lows) was fading in and out when I listened to a cd with heavy bass. That happened for about for about a month. I then hit a pothole, and the sub went out altogether. I had a local mobile audio tech take a look, he just deemed the amp as bad. well my 160a2 rockford amp is not working so i opened it up and found that a resistor was blown it was brown around the area it was in. I think i can fix it but i dont now what part it is i need there are so many different resistors. The one on the amp has four band the out side ones are like a brown gold color and the middle ones are some dark color.

When you build a set up that gets beyond just ho alt and batts and you step up to dual,triple etc alternator how is it wired? Do you run the output from second alt to secondary batts? or does it feed into the system another way? Where do you run the ground? Just wanting to know the general outline of this type of install. Yes I used the search function but no complete answer/understanding.

okay so my 1997 jeep wrangler's stock alt produces 90amps. Im looking into buying two sundown sa-12's, feeding each 600watts at 1ohm. So my question is will my stock alt suffice?

So does this really put out 600rms at 4 ohms? Or would i be better off with my power bass 400.2? Im hoping to sell my power bass to a friend and buy the ssl for $130 Coments Please!

I'm currently using a RF T600-4 to run my RF T1652-S door and rear deck speakers. I've started to notice when turning on my radio after the car has set for a while the front left speaker doesn't turn on until I turn the volume up a bit. Once it kicks on I can run forever at low or high volumes without it cutting out. Just wondering if anyone knows the internals in a amp that could cause this.

just ordered 3 sundown audio sa8 dual 2 ohm -400watts rms ---i no there are a few ways i can wire them up one way does 1.33 ohms and other is 3 i think cant remember got to double check that one -----ill be in a sealed box. -----need an amp that will push them it will be a daily driver so something where they can run for a good hour with out damaging anything

I'm looking at upgrading the system in my G35...I've gotten almost everything figured out except the LOC. The stock HU puts out differential balanced signals and I need to convert them for my amp (planning on buying the Boss REV-665). I'm on a budget so I can't replace my HU (plus, the trim conversion kit costs over $300). I need it for 3 channels (fronts and a sub).. so a 4 channel one would work. I've heard the David Navone ones are good (NE-774V) but am concerned with things like this. Are they the best ones compared to just any LOC or should I look at something else? Ideally, I'd like to get the Audiocontrol LC6i/7 but that's out of my budget. Thanks.

i have a Kicker KQ5 i picked up for 50 bux. i had it posted for sale, 2 people are interested, but i think i wanna keep it now becuase its black, and lights up green or amber, and amber lights match my interior perfect. i was gonna get the clarion 7 band one i think it was for like 80 new, but it only lights up blue which would be the only blue, and stand out horribly. my amps im getting (MTX) will even light up amber to match! (my nakamichi cd-400 does too) any other EQ's that have amber lighting?
