Well i have a Panasonic 6900ub and it's supposed to have 4 volts preouts. Head unit is set at 46/62max. But when i hook it up to the sundown amp i have to crank the gain knob pass 3/4 to get it to fully power up the SE sub at 2ohms. It's set with a 60hz test tone with a cheapy sears dmm. (i don't have an o-scope). RCA wires are from knuconcepts. When i measure the rca volts from the end of the RCA i register only 200 milli volt. why am i getting so little volts through my rca cable? RCA cable is One 5 Meter Klarity Kable Blue OFC RCA Cable with Built in Turn On lead. and i have about 5ft of it wrapped up nicely cause it's longer then i need it to be.

Here are some brand new pictures of a Soundstream XXX-6500. I noticed it can be hard to find non-"stock" pictures of some amplifiers and I know some people were interested, so here ya go. They were on my eBay listings for this amp, but not all search on there. PS - Don't Mind the watermark, that's so other stores and what not don't steal them. Most people who carry these do not stock them and that's why they use generic pictures. Enjoy

Hey I was wondering what good cheaper amps (around 300) would run two SSD 10s with copper coils. I have two in the mail right. Do I need to give each 800 watts to be decently loud? Also wondering if will likely need to do any changes to my electrical system. I've tried to see what amperage my alternator puts out but cant find info, so if you know what an '06 Rav4 without tow package does that would help a lot. Otherwise I think I'm gonna call the dealer. Thanks for any help!

Hey guys im looking to try out the maxx link but i have a question for ya. Im gonna be running 4 kicker zx2500.1 amps and 2 18in Btl dual 1 ohm subs. The zx amps are 2 ohm stable and i was wondering if there is any possible configuration to have the amps see a 2ohm load once strapped. Also would i be better without the maxx link and running each amp to each coil? What ohm loads could i see there. thanks

Does it matter that much about the audio cables I think they run from the amp to the head unit. At sound advice they have 25$ and they have 100$ ones is there that much of a difference I wouldn't want them to have to re run them.

I was at wal mart the other day picking up some speaker wire for an install i was doing for a friend. I was looking at the HU section just out of curiosity. I found a unit that is made specifically for iPod/iPhone playback. It had a FM tuner, aux in, and the faceplate flips down with a iPod/Phone docking station. I put my iPhone on it to see if it would work with it. It charged my phone and played the music just fine. The price on this unit was 100$ even. I know dual is probably one of the most frowned upon audio companies out there.. but I've been looking into a new HU with a budget, and 95% of my music is played from my iPhone, so I dont need all the fancy features. For…

  10. hi, i am positive that it is my head-unit causing this (it is a alpine 9887) but i am trying to see what else it could be. ok for starters i have my gains set on the my sax100.4 At volume 27 is the max (out of 35 i think) and sometimes when i have the volume at only 15 the drivers mid range will get very notice able louder and i will use the balance and the left speaker is barely playing and the left is acting like it is receiving double the signal. now i have the sax 100.4 running active and i am only using the high on the 9887 to feed the sax100.4 channels 1 &2 and then using the output to feed 3 &4. So if it was the amp couldn't one side play fine and t…

I'm about to order a 25ft. roll of 1/0 gauge wire to do the Big 3. I watched the video from Maxxsonics on it too see exactly what I needed to do, and it shows him pointing out 2 separate grounds that were stock on the vehicle before he added any wire. One from the battery to the chassis, and one from the engine block to chassis. When I opened the hood on my Altima I saw that there was only one wire coming off of the negative terminal on the battery, it grounded straight to the engine block. Is this a sufficient ground, or do I still need to find another bolt somewhere on the block to make a new connection to the chassis?

okay, I got my Mach 5 15's and i love them. But until i get the money to get the Sundown amp, I need to figure out which amp I need to use in the mean time. So I have two amps, obviously. I just need to know which amp would be better off for me. I am looking for accurate punchy bass more than I am loudness. So please help me out and let me know which is better. Thanks Guys ~MadroX

  17. I accidentally cracked the cone of my Fi Q12 not paying attention to having cargo secured properly. Anyhow, It's been replaced but once I put it back together, the woofer practically has zero output and what's there sounds really distorted. I double checked my ground and it reads .2 ohms. Power to the amp is good (reads 12.65V on battery). Reading across the woofer coils is good (1.2ohms). I swapped out a new RCA thinking maybe that's it and still the same thing. Messing around with the head unit and amp settings make no difference. I even replaced the woofer completely and it also does the same thing. I've got a Sun Down SAZ-1500D V.3 amp I ordered back in Octobe…

from my readings it was mentioned that remote turn on leads should be fused at .5A on all installs. is this standard practice today or was this directed at older decks? i have just never seen or heard of this until i read it. when using a LOC converter (factory head unit to power amps) i read it should be installed behind the deck. is there any reason against installing it off rear speakers in the trunk or else where in the car? assuming what ever speaker outputs you are going to are the right type e.g. not crossed over from the factory deck at an incorrect frequency for your application. edit: question about gains. when setting amp gains i was told that i should max ou…

i understand fans are useful in keeping your amps cool ... i see a lot of people just using them for their sub amps ... i also felt my amps and my sub amp gets a lot hotter than my 4 channel ... do people mainly put fans just on their sub amps or all of their amps?

I just recently purchased a hifonics bxi1608d. It has 4 gauge terminals and is going to be pushing about 1600 watts. I am not sure if 4 gauge is large enough for the 1600 watts but, on the other hand, I am not sure if I would be able to squeeze the 2 gauge into the 4 gauge terminals. Any suggestions?
