Hi everybody. I recently had my starter set up installed (2 sa-12s dvc 1 sax-1200 wired to one ohm). It was not hitting hard and then it just went completely inaudible, although bass was still slightly there. I realize the not hitting hard part was most likely a wiring issue. I took it into a car audio shop, we opened it up and the guy told me that i blew it, still very puzzling. The gain wasn't set beyond half way and I blew it, but have no idea how. Anyways, I put a picture below (downloaded from the net) and circled the place where the seal broke, and the guy who installed my stereo said it was faulty. Now the problem is bigger because I live in Taiwan, so i was …

  3. I am just completely stumped with this problem. I'll try not to make it long but I want to make sure I explain everything right. I have two amps in my car. A Rockford P500.2 and the SAX-1200D. Both have their own runs of power wire and grounds. The Rockford has 8 gauge going to it, as nothing bigger is necessary, and the 1200D has 4 gauge running to it. Yesterday I completely redid everything at my battery. I had to get new battery terminals, as mine were meant for a top post battery, and rewired the factory ground and such to the new terminals. That went smoothly, car starts without any problems now (had some bad issues). My battery tested good at autozone. I also …

Hello I am an amateur stereo guy in need of advise on setting my amp. I have the gain set to 21 volts on the front and rear of 4 channel with a 1khz test tone I have the gain set to 41 volts on the 1500d amp with a 50hz test tone Those settings were given to me by a friend My question is where to set the crossovers? the low pass/high pass filters the subsonic knob and the 2 push in buttons I currently have the front channel run on the crossover on the head unit set to 100khz with a 24 slope Rear channel is off on deck, and set on low pass on amp but not sure what the settings should be on the amp, the deck does not give me a low pass option on rear channel The sub is cur…

Hi and Good Morning. I am trying to come up with an amp to power my Digital Designs 1008 sub. It has been rated at 500 continuous and 2000 peak. I was told to make sure to get an amp that will supply at least 500 watts rms but i am considering running two of the 1008's or two of the 1508's by Digital designs. I have heard many good things about both of these amps the Sundown Audio SAZ 1000D.1 and the Precision Power P1000.1. Can anybody give me some great advise here and thank You very much.

I just got a saz 1500d and am trying to get the gain set just right. With nothing hooked to it and at 27/35 volume, bass -2, sub -2 and with the gain set 1/2, my DMM reads 60.8 volts. This seems way too high but it does sound pretty good on my dd 3512 wired to 4 ohms. Only thing though, 60 volts would be equal to 3600 watts at 1 ohm. Am I doing something wrong or is this the baddest 1500 watt amp in the world?

Hey People....I will soon be the proud owner of the SAZ 1500D!! I am wanting to get your advice on how to properly power the amp. I currently have a car with the stock 105 amp alternator. I've done the BIG 3 with 4 gauge wire. I also have 4 gauge running to my trunk.....It then goes into a capicator and then to a distro block where I have it going to a 2 channel 300 Watt Denon amp and also what will now be the SAZ 1500D.....I'm pretty sure that I will be starving the amp for power....SO...My question is mainly budget related. How can I give the SAZ enough power the cheapest way??? Can I run another 8 guage power wire and just use it for my 2 channel and leave the 4 g…

My box for the 2 18" Btls is in the proccess of being built, and I am entitled to pick up 2 Powerbass XA 3000d's for 700 bucks a piece (brand new) and I was wondering if they are the equivilent to the Saz 3000d's and will perform as indicated? http://www.powerbassusa.com/products/ampli...xa_class_d.html http://www.sundownaudio.com/3000d.html thnks, Freddy

I am looking to build my first system and I am a full believer in saving money but not at the expense of diminished quality. I want to get 2 15" BL's. This is in an every day driver, I want it loud but it doesn't have to be insane. I know that install is 90% of it so I am wondering how much of a difference am I really gonna see if I have Sundowns 1500 powering them or the 3000. Saying the encloser and every other factor is the same. I am thinking that since I am not looking to compete I would be spending way too much money buying the 3000 and all the extra electrical upgrades that are needed and not have that much of a noticeable difference. So if anyone who has experienc…
