Everything was working perfectly til yesturday when I took out my batterys ground and added another ground wire, when I turned the car back on my voltage gauge and both amps powered up but the HU didn't light up at all and started beeping really fast for the first few seconds then stopped, I hit the reset button on the HU and now nothing powers up (HU, amps, voltage gauge)...I checked both fuses on the amp (1 fuse on red power wire, 1 glass fuse on yellow "back up" wire) both were replaced and I've checked the necessary fuses in the interior fuse box with no luck... Hey guys. I just purchased a American Bass VFL 150.1 with the Gold Chasis. What do you guys think about the amp in General? I am going to be powering my FI 15" BL @ 1 ohm with it..What you guys think that setup will do?? I like the way the amp looks and from all I have read about it it is a powerful dude..

I'm ready to tackle the electrical system of my 2011 Malibu. Under the hood battery is a weird group 75 battery. I'm either going to try and modify for a slightly larger battery or just spend the ~$200 die hard platinum that will fit as is. Thing is I'm trying to do this on a slight budget and its gonna be cheaper to use different brand batteries. Just going to put 1 in the trunk. I plan to only use sealed AGM style batts just possibly different brands and sizes.. Any trouble I can avoid here?

So right now I am planning out my system. It is going to be about 2600 watts total, using either RF, Kicker, or Sundown amps. I have a 160 amp alt now as well as the stock 730 ampere battery. Of course I will be doing the big 3 upgrade. I am almost certain I may need another little battery just in case, a smaller Kinetik or so. What are the chances of me needing a bigger alt?

I may be buying a pretty much brand new DD m2b from a friend. I already have a Crescendo BC2000D. Would it be worth keeping the DD and selling my BC? Or just keep the BC and get the money from the DD?

I was wondering if anyone on here uses or dislikes the powerbass xa3000 and if you use it did you have any problem with it. i already have an orion 2500d on my sub but i also have had this powerbass sitting in my room because it was in protect mode and a local repairer said he couldnt fix it. i just want to see if its worth fixing i only bought it for 150 bucks and would it be better than the 2500d?

I am never one to cut corners, on the flip side I am one to over build. I am ditching Iraggi alternators cuz their service SUCKS and I am going excessive amperage. I currently own a 1995 Ford Mustang that I am thinking of trading it in (this car is great and cursed at the same time). This car has a 130Amp stock alternator and I currently have a SAE-1000D powering a Stereo Integrity Mag with 1000W RMS @ 1ohm. I also have a Crossfire CFA302 amp rated at 75W RMS x 2 @ 4ohms. I've never had a problem with these amps, so I never thought about upgrading my alternator to an aftermarket model that produces 200+ amps. looking for some comp amps that do 5-7kw @1ohm can only be a single amp not strapped amps. used for usaci 601 to 1800 class so the 4 ohm output needs to be 1800 or less. that or an amp with 4ohm under 600w capable of .5 ohm power around 4k thanks for the help

So I've done some research and lots of reviews and people all point to Alpine. I would basically like to know what would be better for me, a 9885 or a 9887? Mostly I'll be using my iPod for the music source, but occasionally I'd play CD's or a friends CD. I drive a 1990 Honda (Yes I know really old) and basically I'm just upgrading my sound system; new speakers and a sub will come with this. But I would like some imput from a 9885/9887 user or ex user and if it's the right choice for me. Also, what is the big difference between the 9885 and 9887 for a 50 dollar difference? Thanks

Right now i have a crunch pzi 1500.1 amp powering these two subs and i know it is putting out less than 1000w rms so these subs arent even being powered 1/2 way but they are still very loud(i have a 96 saturn 2 door and a 3cuft box tuned to 33 hz) i was just wondering what amp would be good to run these with without getting a HO alternator. I dont need an amp that is going to push these to there max i just want one with more quality than the crunch and that wont overheat. The crunch is alright but tends to get very very hot.

I have a Alpine CDA-9884. I got this in January, and used it until about 2 weeks ago. I got a different vehicle, and now have the hu in my 1998 dodge ram 1500. its been in for about a week. now the issue: when i have the hu on the CD player or iPod, music is only played out of the speakers in the back doors. The truck is a quad cab. On the harness, the factory hu had a black ground, i was told to clamp that with the Alpine black. And the blue/black from the Alpine i clamped with the blue/black from the truck harness. I left the reg blue by its self since i dont have a remote wire ran for an amp right now. Wondering if anyone has used the 4/0 welding supply wire.... I have some interest in using wire this thick just so that I'll only need to run 1 run instead of a few 1/0 runs. I'd like to see some size comparison pictures or something. Also wondering how the 1/0 welding supply wire compares to the knu wire as far as size. I read some stuff on here about how copper is so much better than copper clad aluminum, and would like to change it up now. Thanks!
