Sorry I ask so many question, lol I'm still learning ALLOT. I'm slowly piecing all of my equipment together and next on the list is a 4 channel amp. Want to keep it in the $100 range. Needs to power (2) 4" Coax, (2) 6 1/2" Coax. Looking for a clean 40-60 rms per channel.

I have a friend running a 300w PowerBass amp to a 10" powerbass sub in his single cab Ford Ranger. He called me the other day and said he was driving around town "bumping" and his sub randomly quit working. This kid knows little to nothing about car audio, so he calls me with his problems. I went and looked at his amp and sub too see if I could figure anything out. The sub felt warm, and the amp was REALLY hot. When I played music through the system, at a very low volume, (vol 1-3), sound came out fine.. but when it got above that, the protect light came on on the amp, and would burp random thumps (not from the music) about every 3-5 seconds. With the key turned to "On", …

I've got a line on the Massive amps, and wondering if any of you guys have ever used/reviewed them. They've got the DB300B, which is supposedly stable at 1 ohm, and does 950RMS @ 2 ohm - my cost is much lower than the MSRP, wondering how it would compare to a Sundown or similar. http://www.massiveaudio.com/store/db-3000b...1-pr-16220.html

I am never one to cut corners, on the flip side I am one to over build. I am ditching Iraggi alternators cuz their service SUCKS and I am going excessive amperage. I will be getting another HO alt and 2 more big AGM batteries and doing some more runs of ott. 1st off, do you guys recommend I get a missinglinkaudio voltage regulator? Anyway, should I get dual 4 ohm XXXs for the VAN and go 2 ohm, or should I run dual 2 at 1 ohm since I should have good electrical to back it up? I have heard stay 2 ohm, and I think that is what I will do. It's already too loud as it is 99% of the time.. my ears hurt and get numb on a daily basis and I know it's stupid. But when i'm showing o…

well heres the WHOLE stroy on the deal. i seen the aq3500 on craigslist for $300. last week, i texted the guy and asked if i could put down $75 and he hold it for me so no one else would scoop it up from under me. he said it was cool. i gave him the 75. yesterday, he texted me back and said he was moving and needed cash bad and asked how much i had in my pocket. i said $75. he said meet me and the same place as before and its urs for asnother 75. so needless to say i high tailed it to mcdonalds lol. got it for $150!! took it to my local audio shop to have him test it this morning. powers on fine, and plays 100%. honestly i thought something had to be wrong with it but i g…

So my friend bought a Lanzar MaxP1200 (for some reason) and he proceeded to changes his (3) 30A fuses to (3) 40A fuses because he said that the bigger the fuse the better. Now, in my head it seems like the amp was rated at 90A for a reason but i dont know shit about fuses. So, by changing the fuses, is he screwing things up?

Ok, so i get a call from my friend asking if i could fix his other friends mess up of trying to put in his H/U. I go over hoping he didnt do some of my earlier mistakes, which he did, he cut the factory harness trying to hardwire it...... i gave him 3 options: 1: try to rewire his factory harness which could be a while since its a GM 2: wire the H/U itself skipping the factory harness 3: trace each wire and figure them out, yet again skipping the harness and wiring everything to the back of the H/U We decided 2 would be the easiest solution *98 s10 ext.* and i was wondering if my plan was good and if he was going to lose any basic functions.... I'll wire the ground to a …

I've got two grl5500's that I picked up cheap and used for awhile while I was doing upgrades. Problem I ran into is that when I upgraded my alt. I made a noob mistake of not upgrading my fuse to rear battery. I know Duh! Adw I didn't catch it and everything was fine until my rear batteries voltage just gave out. After doing all the proper wiring upgrades, which I should have done first, I charged the battery made sure it was fine then proceeded to hook amps back up. They powered up but produced no sound. Not for sure what to do. I've since got my sundown in, but would have liked to recoup some money on these. Any ideas on what could be the problem or just write it up as a…

Why does everyone run 2 Kinetik Hc1800s instead of 1 HC3800? You get more power and its easier to set up and its the same price if not cheaper. Would this battery also be enough with the two amps and a 200A alternator?

Hey guys, I am having an issue with my amp I am wondering if my RCA's are bad, I had them loose in the trunk while my amp was uninstalled, could they have touched and burnt out or something, I didnt tape them off, only the power wire and ground, I didnt think they needed to be taped off as well. But my amp is sounding unright! the output is very low, I turned the gain up to max and it does not sound like a 1200 watt amp should sound, I dont know if that makes sense. I say that because I switched amps, from a eD 9.1 to a RE 12.1, nothing changed except the amp, all wiring is the same, the 9.1 was thumping, I know both amps are different but they are both supposed to put ou…

Let's say I'm running the Sundown 1000 watt amp with 2 gauge power/ground wire and an 80amp fuse near the battery powering a 12" Fi Q. If I want to change my sub to a 8" Soundsplinter RL-i, and replace the Sundown with a P.G. 400 Watt amp, does the 2 guage wire need to be changed? If not, then does the fuse need to be changed? BTW: I don't have those amps or subs. My main question was the wire question. I realize the Sundown would actually be good for a dual 4 ohm RLi-8. But let's forget all that.
