This is my setup and i need advice to see if i need a capacitor or not. 2001 toyota avalon xl 2 Type r's 1222d Kicker zx1000 Kenwood double din headunit This is my first system and the people at the electronics store said that i need a cap but i cannot be sure. I dont know how to do the big three upgrade. My question: Do i need a capacitor and if i dont have one will my lights be dim? and Will the alternator and battery be able to handle the power without sacrificing the dimming of lights and other electrical problems? i think the alternator gives out 80 amps stock and with the car on it is between 13.5-14.5V thanks

my setup will be a 3way setup for my front stage consisting of; 8"(undecided) in doors 4" CDT gold 2way set in kicks 12" iCONs in trunk HU is kenwood DDX7017 (somethin like that) amps will all be kicker(undecided on models) so my question is; is the KX3 3-way active crossover from kicker a good option? if not what would be better? im debating on also putting a set of some 6.5 midbass drivers in the panel next to my door for a bit of rear fill, i know its not most peoples taste, but my 3way setup is worrying me about missing some fill. if i decided to use those rears would u just use the 2way crossover as well as the 3way for the front? is there anything im missing? thank…

hi, i have been using my psp for music lately and the difference in volume from a cd and that is huge and i am wondering how can i go about making it louder? i figure i might be able to use a linedriver but then i got to thinkin that might mess stuff up since most are 8 volt line drivers so if a head unit only has 4 volts preamp i can see problems. so can only one shine some light on this. of btw i am getting a Alpine CDA-9885 ( i need a decently cheap but still a decent headunit right now.)

Hey guys! got a quick question. Just picked up an iPod and hooked it up to my alpine deck. my question is....is it possible to get the iPod to turn completely off when i shut off my car? Or does it turn off ocmpletely on its own? or just go into sleep? im sorta confused. I know the screen blacks out. but i'm not sure if its off or if its in sleep. I haven't turned it off long enough to tell if tis in "deep sleep" and watnot, but im hoping to just be able to leave this thing in my glvoebox and control it all through the head unit let me know if you have any ideas!!

whats a good 4 channel or a 2 channel amp i have alpine type r speakers or should i just get new speakers while im at it too? need some help

It states 1300 @ 2ohms at 14.4v. I currently have an MD2D on my RL-p 18" @ 2 ohms, but it's only getting around 800 rms. I was thinking of swapping them out, but i'm not to sure on the rated power for the Infinity.

hi, in my last attempt to rule out installation problem i rewired my whole system again plus i added a ground run and i still having this problem: ok, if i have my eq on my headunit set on flat and turn everything off like loud and my highpass i have to have my gains all the way up to even get 20 volts coming out of it( rated for 100 rms @ 4 ohms) and also if i have my eq set to anything but flat and the gains are not all the way down the amp goes into protection mode at 3/4 volume. and i mean all the way down. like i had one just slightly up and it goes into protection mode and also it does not seem to get as loud as it did before. now i don't have an o scope or know any…

Equipment: 10" AA Arsenal Sealed enclosure Factory Headunit 1 Stinger LOC 1 ZED Minilith Here's the deal. Everything is connected well. I have a good ground, wires, and RCA's. The sub is getting a bit of a warble sound to it a low volumes (I'm sure it is still there when the volume is up,but the music is covering it up). hi, i have 2 questions: one how can a person determine how many and which kind of battery's a person needs ( like CCA Ah, etc) for around 2.5k rms and also do you have to fuse a ground run?

Who can I talk to about having a Treo 750.1 fixed, I've been told THE fets are fried.. I'm not 100% sure if anything else is fudgeed or what, but I'd like to see how much it'd be to get fixed, rather than buying another amp.

If you had the choice of the 2 headunits what would you choose. This is the first thing im having installed in my car later on i plan on getting a sundown sax 100.4 and running my front stage active. seems like this only does it on these amps, any other brand amps i never really noticed this...but anyways, ill have a speaker connected, and ill have the gains on 0. i gradually put the gains up, and the loudness/volume doesnt move. it gets louder only when i get to like right before 3/4 of the way up....is that normal? does this on both of my 150's and both of my 45's... i just think thats odd, like ill put the gains at 1/2, and its the same as having the gains at 0....

I am having some problems with my amps cutting off. They aren't actually cutting off i guess(the green power light stays on)but the speakers or sub will cut off(depending on which amp cuts off) and when they come back on i can hear the amp click back on(same sound they make when i first start up my truck) so, i guess the amps might be cutting itself off for some reason maybe? they arent going into protect mode. It happens only when the volume was up a little. Before i installed my HC-800 they would cut off when the volume was around 18-20 of 35. Now that i installed the HC-800 i can turn it up to 21. Is it possible for me to run my back door speakers directly off the head unit if I'm already using the rear RCAs for my front stage? I know some people don't like the rear speaker thing, but I have people in my truck all the time, plus I like it that way.

So right now I am planning out my system. It is going to be about 2600 watts total, using either RF, Kicker, or Sundown amps. I have a 160 amp alt now as well as the stock 730 ampere battery. Of course I will be doing the big 3 upgrade. I am almost certain I may need another little battery just in case, a smaller Kinetik or so. What are the chances of me needing a bigger alt?

I currently am running 2 amps, 1 for comps and 1 for sub. It totals 1300rms. So, I would need about a 130a fuse as a estimate, correct? I'm gonna upgrade the big 3 and get a HO alt. I don't really know jack about amps and all that. My question is, can somebody help me figure out what size alt to get? Would a 200a be sufficient? I drive a 97 Exploder 6cyl and I think the stock alt is 95a. Any help is greatly appreciated

h, i am thinking of running a 980bt for my headunit and i want to use it to do an active set up and i was reading the manuel and i think i understand how to do it but i want to make sure. this is how i think it is: i need to have channels 1 and 2 used for the tweeter with a highpass set to whereever then use channel 3 and 4 for the midrange with a lowpass set just below the highpass. and i want to use 2 sets of speakers so i can just run an rca from the amp to the other amp. and sorry but this is my first time doing active and i want to make sure. also on the amp. Sax100.2 would i set x over on it to full? or is there a way to bypass it.

What are some good 4 channel amps that can run 2-way active off of them. Something between 100-150 RMS. I would like to spend $350 or under.
