Maybe I can get some help here. I'm looking for amplifier choices, I'll be getting 4 RL-P 15's, probably being put into a smallish ported box. I kinda want to keep amplifier cost below 800$ if possible. I'm at a bit of a loss, on what to get. There are too many choices! I've considered getting a Hifonic Titan series TX1000 per sub. But maybe two stronger amps would be better. My truck has two yellow tops, and a mean green alternator. So any recomendations would be nice.

I currently use a Lanzar Mxa252 2channel amp to run the dual 4ohm 15"l7 in a 1.5 cu ft. sealed enclosure. Looking for a amp to run the L7 1000rms@2ohm under $300 shipped, Soundstream Picasso PCX1500D for $287 on ebay or HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi1610D for $232 on ebay both are 1100@2ohm. Any other options would help.

I have a couple questions. First, I will tell you what I have. I have a ported box w/ 2 12's they are DB drive PLW12D4's and each sub has its own amp and the amps are Crunch Pzi 1500.1. I also have a yellow top battery under the hood, a 200 amp alternator, a kinetik 800 battery in the trunk, and a 3.0 farad cap. Ok now I am thinking about adding another 12" DB drive, a sundown 1500 amp, and a custom box which I am thinking of having it made to the specs of the subs and 32Hz. I have a 1997 Ford Thunderbird. Also I have about 36 inches for the face of the box to be so the box fits in the trunk. I am looking for SPL. I use the car as a driver but also take it to show…

Guess my head unit doesn't like my new setup. After going close to full tilt the screen goes blank until I turn truck off and back on. Any suggestions or just send it back to Crutchfield?

  5. I tried searching but search feature doesn't really like small words like Big 3. I've seen it a lot where people say you can leave the stock alternator/ground cables connected, but does disconnecting them have any effect? I ask because I would rather just cap the stock cables off for a cleaner install.

  6. I recently picked up a 05 Impala, and due to a problem with my other car, am stripping out the wiring kit in it to throw in the impala. I have an Aftermarket deck in my other car (A Grand Am), but I believe it has a short or something thats screwing up my electrical system >=( Anyhow, I had a buddy do my wiring on the Grand Am, and since I didn't have a precut hole in the firewall, he ran it by the side of the door. Only problem is, in Arizona, the heat and weather is horrible, so the wire is hella faded and looks like it is being rubbed or something. So obviously I'm going to need to replace that. My question however is : Is there a hole already in the firewall that w…

I have plans of adding an additional 3000D and a BTL 18 to my existing 3000D and BTL 18. The problem is that the 3000D is no longer in production, and DB-R is running low. What would my options be if I couldn't get another 3000D when I do the upgrade? I don't think it would work properly if I combined a 3000D on one BTL and a 3500D on the other.... please inform. Thanks!

  9. 2volt headunit vs 4volt headunit which is better? what are the benefits of a high voltage sub output? I currently have a 2v alpine that i'm thinking of replacing I'm thinking with my current setup that I can use a little more power but idk If i get a 4v, will i have 2 retune my amps? Will I end up just turning my amps down with a 4v, and have the same results as b4? Would it be better to put that money towards a big amp? (money is rare)

Had my 4 channel amp sand blasted with sugar sand today, know i just need to decide on a new color. I'm leaning towards a blue to match the the gauge color of my 06 civic ex, but could could do it white and have LED tubes to high light it. Just not sure.

how do i calculate power from my amp. if i have my sub wired at 1 ohm and i play a test tone say 60hz and measure the voltage how do i calculate that into watts. i know you multiply volts by current to get watts but how do you know the current at diffrent loads. not sure if im missing something i just always see people say i measured this many volts at this load so it is putting out this many watts and i never see a current measurement. is there a standard current output per load or something. just want to learn a little more thanks

So my buddy was sellin his Lanzar MaxP1200 amp for $70 and i picked it up for the hell of it, So my question is, What wrong with Lanzars exactly? They just really cheap? It says 1800 watts @ 1ohm but i dont believe it so im gonna run it at 2 ohms (900w rated) for the time being Is it a decent amp to run my Icon off of for a couple months until i buy my Audioque?

I bought a PG 1200.1 from my buddy he had 3 15s hooked up with just one PG 1200.1 and he was push about 1510.2 watts when tested with just one Pg and a 4 chanel amp. My buddy told me i could use just the PG 1200.1 to push 4 12 inch hifonics brutuss. Each one is 1200 Wats MAXX 600 W RMS. should i buy 1 more PGs to push the subs the right way or just use one?
