Here's what i have Excessive Amperage 180 amp alt. 110 at idle big three plus more doen in 1/0 ga optima yellow 19 feet 1/0 ga to the trunk 5 inches of 1/0 from amp to ground MTX thunder elite 1501d during testing yesterday i found that on the voltmeter mounted in the dash (aftermarket) it would drop down to 12.3 and lower during a romp on the new xcon. i haven't tested at the amp yet but shouldn't the volt meter be a good indication of the drop in the rear? the alt tested out good the last time we had it benchtested by excessive. any clues or ideas?

hello guys i was wondering would it be ok to run 1 sub that is 150 watts rms off a 4 channel amp and run front speakers in a car on the other 2 channels of the amp ?

Have factory 6x9 rear and thinking to go back with a Treo 8 sub instead of going with the 6.5. The amp that I was going to use to run the 2 set of 6.5 was a Solid Audio F20 @ 300 watts how much more power I need to run the TS 8 which is 150 watts?

I currently have a v1 sundown amp. If I wanted to strap a second amp do I need to strap only with a V1 amp or would it be ok to strap with a V2 model?

Ive read several different things about this amplifier throughout this forum. Some people say its a good amp but only does its power at 2 Ohm.. i goto the actual website and it appears its stable at 1 ohm. let me cut to the chase. Friend needs a budget amp for his Fi Q 12" sub. Found a audiopipe 1500d on craigslist locally that is for sure in the budget. Guy says its hooked up so we can hear it work before purchasing. If this amp isnt 1 ohm stable then its pretty much worthless to us, since the fi Q is a dual 2 ohm sub and were planning on 1 ohm stable here. im going to attach a picture of the amp. I recently picked up a 05 Impala, and due to a problem with my other car, am stripping out the wiring kit in it to throw in the impala. I have an Aftermarket deck in my other car (A Grand Am), but I believe it has a short or something thats screwing up my electrical system >=( Anyhow, I had a buddy do my wiring on the Grand Am, and since I didn't have a precut hole in the firewall, he ran it by the side of the door. Only problem is, in Arizona, the heat and weather is horrible, so the wire is hella faded and looks like it is being rubbed or something. So obviously I'm going to need to replace that. Guess my head unit doesn't like my new setup. After going close to full tilt the screen goes blank until I turn truck off and back on. Any suggestions or just send it back to Crutchfield?

Anyone ever used one? Thoughts? I'm thinking about picking up a couple, for future uses.

I have a 1998 Mitsubishi eclipse rs. Yesterday I tried taking out the stock head unit and putting in my Sony after market. I realized I messed up the the stock wiring harness. The wires no longer are plugged into the harness plug, just out hanging. I tried starting the car and the engine doesn't turn over all I get it a weird clicking sound coming from the dash. Battery is fully charged, lights work, heat/ac work. What could be wrong??

I did an install way back, maybe 15 years ago on an 88 Nissan p/u. New speaker wire all around, two amps, amp board behind seat, tho whole enchilada. The 1st time i ever attempted such a thing. My p/u had a fiberglass shell that attached to the cab via a rubber boot. There was a carpet kit in the bed of the truck which held my sealed box with two 10" JL subs powered by an old school Rockford amp (Punch DSM). I had Pioneers for speakers powered by another Rockford 4 way. A set of 6.5's in the doors, and a set of 6x9's in the back installed into the carpet kits cubbys that it had. Hi , I will buy a 2500-3000 watts amplifier when I find a good deal. With my 2 amps (Sundown saz1500 and sax 50.4 bridged) I have no voltage drops, no dimming lights. But I know my stock battery will have trouble with a more powerful bass amplifier. I don't want to change that stock battery : it's 2.5 year-old but still very strong ! I did add a 0 ga wire from batt(-) to ground and another 0 ga wire from engine block to batt(-). I can't access the alt, it's under a lot of things ! Here is my question : how bad is it to just add an AGM batt in the back ? Will it hurt my stock batt ? I can have access to Yellowtop, XS, or Kinetic locally. The Yellowtops are the less expens…

The pioneer 880PRS / P80RS has an internal amplifier that can be be turned on and off as required. 1. Can the unit be used in network mode and still use the internal amplifier to output to the front and rear channels? 2. if the channels are still powered in network mode, do they have filtering on them? and can front/rear balance still be controlled from the headunit? Here is a video to show my new charging system. The main point of the video, which came to my surprise. But EVEN with a large electircal system, you still may not be supplying enough for your audio equipment. This was an interesting find for myself. At full tilt sort of speak, my vehicle, the vehicle itself, pulls right around 40 amps!!! That is HUGE! haha. That included, headlights which is H.I.D.s, which pulled 10 amps lol, Wiper Full blast, Front heat full blast, rear heat full blast, and interior lights on.
