i hooked up my hifonics bxi1206d amp and its not getting power supposively. i dont get it, its grounded and runnin power from the battery, and when i pulled out the fuse in it and it shot some sparks. the only other thing i can think of is maybe there is a ground wire in the back of the h/u isnt grounded....if i recall right. i messed with the gains and still....the led saying whether or not it has power didnt light up at all. any help?

Ok guys, I'm from the UK, but i'm over with you in the states for the next 8 months or so. Staying out in Melbourne, Florida. I'm after either a decent 3000W rms @1 ohm class a/b amp Or a class D, or pair of class D's with good dampening factors, with about 3kw @1 ohm ultimatly. I have back at home an AA Mayhem 15", which i powered with a Powerbass xa3000D. Which i liked, but i want something to control the woofer better. $450 amp budget, which way would you go? OK, 2001 Grand Vitara, 200K miles, stock alt for all I know. My lil Zuk's alternator has me worried. I has always noticed that the lights where dimmer at idle and the dim noticeable when you roll the windows etc... Well- installed a small system and every time it would hit(lil 600w Soundstream) the lights would dim. I figure it has a pathetic lil alt wire, and the Big 3 would probably fix it up. Always seemed worse at Idle/lower rpms, than at cruising speed(3K rpm). I finally got a volt meter installed. My sister just got an 04 Land Rover Freelander and I'm wondering what size head unit fits into this car. The stock radio is a cd changer that takes up far more room than a single din head unit would but I'm not exactly sure on what size would fit. Any body Know what would fit?

Hello, I heard that Mazda 3s computer systems cannot handle new HO alt's, so that being said I wanted to just fabricate a new bracket for a secondary alt instead, but there is no possible room to put another alt. so I was thinking of just getting more batteries instead, is that a good choice? or should I investigate and try to get a new alt anyway. Right now I'm currently running 1800 rms with stock alt big 3 all 1/0 100% OFC and XS power XP750 and getting pretty bad voltage drop, I'm going as low as the upper 11s . and my amp gets a little hot (i think that's why). I plan to upgrade to 3500 rms, so that's why i want a new alt. HELP! thanks!

I currently have a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT in my expedition but was planning on getting a 05-06 GTO and was wondering if anyone had one and if there is a dash kit for that HU? I can' find one and don't really know to much about the GTO's stock HU. Thanks

Looking at: SAZ1500D AQ1200D if i get a secod battery AQ2200D or SAE 1200D Now these are the ones if narrowed it down to for powering one 15" Fi BTL, now i do not know if my battery and alt can handle it, but when my car comes back from the shop il take a look and post it on here (its in the shop for oil change and new brakes). I am going to do the big 3 with 0ga possibly today or friday, ive been a lil busy. I was wondering will the memphis mojo 4kw run at a 1/2 ohm on burps with proper voltage. I do know that the 08 version will run at 1/2 ohm but they changed a few things on the new mojo.

Going to be running an alpine pdx-f6 (60amp fuses), and alpine pcx-m6 (80amp fuses). Would 0ga just be over kill? These are going in the rear of a crew cab colorado and splitting at a distribution block. So it will be ether 0ga in and 2 4ga out or 4ga in and 2 4ga out. Thanks

So I have the LC2i LOC. It says to use a 1 to 2 amp fuse for the power. Is this really needed? Someone I spoke with told me they don't think its required because the fuse on main power should act as fuse. And if an issue occurred then it should pop the fuse on the main power line. Is that correct? Just wondering if I should go find a 1 amp fuses?

So this may be a noob question but i need to learn car 08 grand prix gxp with mechman 270 2 xcon 12's in 4th order bandpass I can purchase two amps vibe blackbox bass 5 that put out (each amp) 1500rms @2ohms I can get both $750 total Or I can purchase one amp sundown 3500d that puts out 1750 rms @2ohms for $800 Would I benefit from getting the two amps and having one to each woofer or would the single amp be my best thing to do?

hey guys, i have been thinking. right now im stuck on which amps to use on these solo x's. its between 2 kicker kx 1200.1's (i can get some decent deals on) or i just found the soundstream rubicon series 1600 watts amp (id get 2, 1 for each sub) there rated 40Ax4 which is 160A for $220 new with warrenty. iv been doing research and they do right at rated power. so what do u think. im stuck here HELP!!!! if anyone knows of some other good rated power amps (around 450 for 1 or 225 for 1(id buy 2) let me know. ps, im ordering my 220 amp alt. here soon and 2 optima yellow tops so power is no issue here. here is a link to the soundstream http://www.amazon.com/Soundstream-RUB1-…

To push 4 1508's? I can run 2 1508's @ 2ohms to each 1211a (1200w), or I can run all 4 @ 1ohm to the AQ2200 (?). As for my electrical, I have 2 redtops, 200amp alt, big 3, & 0awg. What's going to be the all around better setup?

I have one positive run to the back. Will that support a 3500d? I have a 3400 with stock under the hood. I am thinking another 3100 in the back. All grounds are to frame to avoid chopping the car up. Thanks for the help its been awhile since I been here.lol

I currently have a 2010 Fi Q12 in a sealed box powered off of a JL 500/1v2. It sounds great, but I want to unleash the sub's full potential by giving it all of it's 1000rms rating. I plan on putting in a high output alternator, so suppling power isn't an issue. The sub is dual 2 ohm, so I can wire it to either 1 or 4 ohm. My question is: Is there a noticeable difference in sound quality if I push an amp at 1 ohm (if stable) vs 4 ohm? The reason I ask is because I was looking at Rockford Fosgate Power amps and the T1000 Constant Power was stable at 1 ohm to 1000rms, while the T1500 Constant Power was capable of 1000rms at 4 ohm. Ok so let me get this straight........so 1 ohm basically is the max power of the sub...but when u go to 2 ohms its cut in half because its spread out to 2 motors but overall pretty much matching the same power as the 1ohm???and 4ohms basically overall matching the same power as the others if each ohm was combined???/ Im real confused someone explain it!!!!!Also what you think is better a 2ohm BL or 1ohm..

i am currently running 1 ea.pos and neg 1/0 ga wire from the front to the back, would adding just 1 more pos run help or do i need to add the neg also and keep them even? Can you have more pos than neg? Good or bad?

Friend, I am from Nicaragua and have a couple of questions: I have a single Rockford amplifier T20001 (2500 - 2800 rms ) with 2 TRF 12 ... and i hit 145.6 db.....Now.... i wanna buy another T200001....my question is: It could increase the db with another T20001 or not. How many db can i increase if put each T20001 with each TRF 12" 1.5? 2? 2.5? 3? Thanks
