ok i got a few questions: 1, i need help choosing a sub amp here is what i am thinking: us amps XT-4000D used us amps md1d Used ED 9.1 used/refurb kicker sx1250 Hifonics TXi1508D i am trying to not spend more then 300 on the amp and i need 1200rms at 1 ohm. Another question is this: on my car it is a single wire running for the alternator and the way it is suppose to be wired that it came with a 6" long run of 10 guage wire attached to the alternator to a point where then i have 1/0 guage running to the battery. could that 10 guage wire pose a voltage problem for 200 amps. to power a 15" or 18" Q should i usa a autotek mm 1400.1 or ss 1500.1? the reason i ask is becasue i have seen a few test done where the ss500 and i think the 1000 did there rated power around 13.8-14 volts. or should i go with the mm1400 and i am getting a good deal on the amps so they are the only 2 i can pick from.

alright, say i have the gains set at 1/2 on the amp. now, i plug in the knob, and turn the knob to MIN (amp gains still at 1/2) theres almost no bass. when i turn it to MAX, is it the same as my amp playing at full tilt with the gains at 1/2 if i didnt have the knob in? did i make sense? its kinda hard to explain what im trying to say...

guys what do you think between these two companies when it comes to there big amps?

Alright dont have much cash but what are some of the best headunits out there that are around $200. Please tell me why it would be a good choice.

my 4 channel HK598 blew. im not exactly sure what the problem is, but its not in protect, it powers on, but no music...something prally broke becuase of the voltage drop. i put the powerbass xa3000d in....as soon as the bass hits, bam, voltage = 8v! this is on the stock electrical though. the powerbass is holding up like a champ, i have it off now though til i get home so i can put my hc2400 in after work, hopefully thatll help....i also emailed EA about an alternator. i really hope the hc2400 helps though in retaining power to at least 12v while the alt can recharge it....becuase right now the voltage drop is just ridiculous. its loud though. 15" treo ssx in like 4 cube…

ok, here's the situation. i've been out of the game for a while and am jumping back in with both feet but have a little area of concern, i will be running a 100.4 on all my mids and highs for front stage and rear fill but have also been toying with throwing a Audio Control eqs 6 channel crossover at it as well. My concern here is that with all the crossover points between the eqs and the amps, that there will be some serious tuning issues to the point of wanting to pull out what ever hair i have left. ( yes i am considered an old fart in the car audio world now, 33 on wednesday) I am open to suggestions here on which routes to go as far as ditching the idea of the eqs a…

I have two 12" Kicker L7s on a PA 2400DB, which does about 1400W. My subs are dual 2 ohm and im looking for an amp that does at least 1600 clean watts. Or anything yall would recommend to make these things beat. Don't get me wrong though these things do hit hard. I have a sealed box now, but i may want to go to a ported box. What do yall think the cubic ft. and tuning should be for 2 12" L7s. (I listen mostly to rap) Thanks in advance.

lol it's not that good of quality, for some odd reason my cam didn't pick up the display to well, but it gives you a brief idea of the unit.

never dealt with EQ's and stuff before.... i originally planned to run an EQ and an external active xover, but lo and behold, the amp i am planning to run, the Usamps AX5600 has a built in 3-way xover. SOOO instead of spending another 50 dollars or so, and adding more stuff to wire, i can just run everything from the amp and the EQ. i purchased a PG TiEQ15 a few weeks ago and it only has one set of RCA inputs, and 1 set of outputs while the amp has 3 sets of inputs. i know i have to run another set of speaker wire/side as well as a set of RCA's from my HU but how do i handle the EQ? just run the eq off of the front RCA's? or am i out of luck and get a new eq with 3 …

Should I get a T150002 or a kicker zx1500.1 Or I can get 2 RF T5002 vs getting 2 kicker zx550.2 Which would you guys get if you were me? They would run 2 12" Fi SSDs with all the upgrades

Hi, I'm getting a Mach5 MAW15(for now), and was wondering which amp you would buy, based on price/quality? I don't want to go more than $400. Precision Power PC2150RB(used, but almost new) = $260 Zapco REF500.1(new) = $380 US Amps Merlin MD22(new) = $180 US Amps Xterminator XT800.2(new) = $125 Any other recommendations are appreciated . Question for yall: I just got my saz-1500d, hooked it up, all is good. With my previous amp, I use a kicker kx3 xover for the linedriver/bass knob features on it. Just for kicks, I hooked up the kicker bass knob to the sundown amp. It works fine, but when I turn the knob up over halfway, rather than increase gain, it decreases gain. It does get to the same volume level that the sundown knob gets to, I'm just wondering if it will hurt anything to use the kicker as it is already cut into my dash. Thanks for replies.

Hey this is my first post, and off the bat let me say I am no audio genius nor am I close. I was refered here by Helotaxi, and I'm sure you guys can answer any questions I have. So that said, I am in the market for a Audio/Video head unit, that has Ipod control, mp3,cds, and all that good stuff. Someone on my car forums (SRTForums.com) was selling a Pioneer AVH 57000 I believe for 500$. It has the ipod adapter already, and the switch so you can watch while on the road. Anyways I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a great AV unit for around that price, or if you have any tips or anything else. Thanks You. -Mykel

I got a Western Digital 160gb External HD. I was just trying to figure out some ways to hook this thing up to my Pioneer DEH-P6900UB. If the Usb port on the back of the HU is powered, would it have enough power to handle the HD or would I need to get a Power Inverter and mount it in the glovebox to keep it from looking to tacky. I was wanting to Mount the actual HD itself on the floorboard under the HU because it has the LED power light. Anyway Whatcha think. ~MadroX

I have a few spare 10" Alpine Type S dual 2ohm subs that have been sitting around for a little over a year with no home. I'm planning on using one of them in a friends sealed box (.75) running it at 1ohm using the Zed Minilith. The Alpine is rated at 300rms. The Zed is rated a bit over 600rms at 1ohm. Id this too much for that sub, or should I just wire it to a 4ohm load.

Ok, so i get a call from my friend asking if i could fix his other friends mess up of trying to put in his H/U. I go over hoping he didnt do some of my earlier mistakes, which he did, he cut the factory harness trying to hardwire it...... i gave him 3 options: 1: try to rewire his factory harness which could be a while since its a GM 2: wire the H/U itself skipping the factory harness 3: trace each wire and figure them out, yet again skipping the harness and wiring everything to the back of the H/U We decided 2 would be the easiest solution *98 s10 ext.* and i was wondering if my plan was good and if he was going to lose any basic functions....
