Hey all, I just picked up a Pioneer Premiere DEH-P880PRS off ebay for $200. Pretty good deal. The only thing is, is that it doesn't come with a cage, book, or harness. I get get the pdf of the book off of pioneers website. Does the 880 use a 16pin harness like all of the ones on ebay? There is a cage, harness, and trim panel on ebay for $15.00 shipped. So any help would be appreciated! -Ryan

Anyone here ever pair an old Xtant 121m with a DCON? I've got this setup, and I know I can go much louder if I like, but then the bass overtakes everything else. Then again, my door speakers are whatever crap Nissan puts in their stock Rogues, and are probably not strong enough to properly pair with the sub. It just feels like my old MTX 4500 and the MTX monoblock hit harder. Not more accurately, just harder. Perhaps it is also the car's fault. I drove a 2003 RAV4 (much smaller than current RAV4s), and now I drive a Rogue, which is bigger than my RAV. Ok so for my system I'm going to be using a Memphis PR500 (Im almost certain thats what it was) to power my two Assasain 8's so first off...is this a good choice for these subs. I know its a good amp, so I think that question was actually redundant....secondly. How much amp draw on my electrical system will I be seeing when I have this thing pounding?

hi guys finally bought one i have a 130 amp alt and a 2400 kinetik and 800 kinetik and all 1/0 cable is that enough to power this i was thinking of getting another hc800 will i be ok i know i could use more batts but i should be ok right? thanks in advance Billy

All right, i have a question about grounding. I have an 1 F capacitor, got it for free and just using it untill i have enough to buy all new equipment for my truck. I was wondering if it would be alright if i grounded my amplifier to my capacitor, and then my capacitor to my floor? would there be any problems in that? thanks, scott Edit: This is gonna be for my sub amp

First of all I used the forums' search feature and I did not find any topics under "impedance rise". I currently am powering my XCON with a Crescendo 3kwp. I set the amplifier gain and ssf with my dvm. My XCON is wired for 1 ohm. With a little math my wrms output of my 3kwp should be around 1750 using -3db test tones ranging from 32-60hz. So here is my thoughts on impedence rise. I used a dvm and test tones to set my amplifier gain. This does not take into account any impedance rise between the narrow band of frequencies that my XCON plays. I'm going to be running 2000 watts constant at 1 ohm to my btl and i was wondering what gauge wire i need to use? I'm guessing 1 gauge but i rather be safe than sorry.

Long story short, my system has been under construction for quite some time. I decided to throw some speakers in the doors via the factory speaker wires just to have something to listen to, but there was no sound. My first thought was a short somewhere in the wires, so I wired one speaker directly to the HU's harness (literally at the back of the HU, not through harness adapter) and it still produced absolutely nothing. I played around with the settings and couldn't find anything that could cause this. Am I missing something stupid, or is this HU fried?

I'm running 1 Linear Power 5002iq to 1- 12" sub rated for 500 rms. Linear Power suggests a 60 amp fuse, 1 at the battery and 1 at the amp. The amp has 8 gauge power wire hardwired in to connect to. Do I need to run 4 gauge from the battery to a distribution block or can I get away with 8 gauge from the battery all the way back? Thanks

I recently picked up a 05 Impala, and due to a problem with my other car, am stripping out the wiring kit in it to throw in the impala. I have an Aftermarket deck in my other car (A Grand Am), but I believe it has a short or something thats screwing up my electrical system >=( Anyhow, I had a buddy do my wiring on the Grand Am, and since I didn't have a precut hole in the firewall, he ran it by the side of the door. Only problem is, in Arizona, the heat and weather is horrible, so the wire is hella faded and looks like it is being rubbed or something. So obviously I'm going to need to replace that. i have stock electrical, just one 4 gauge run to my alpine pdx 1.600 amp (600rms, 730 peak), but my gauges/instruments dim down to about 50% and my headlights dim terribly. will the big three in 1/0 or 2 gauge solve this problem? i have a 2003 vw passat, im pretty sure my alt does 90 amps..

Does anyone know the stats behind this ancient Sony XM-235 amplifier? I got it for free in a garage sale package deal with some other stuff. I found some manuals on-line but you have to buy them all. They all have pictures of the manuals front cover with a lot of stats but i can never make out the numbers or words because the resolution is so bad. Thanks for your help.

So, after doin some lookin at line drivers, it seems they are worthless to use if the goal is to achieve higher SPL for burps but... i have another goal. When i do bassrace or driveby, or longterm musical playback at non-sanctioned shows, i run in a fully clipped signal because my 7,000w still isnt enough for the subs i'm running... I have a 4v preout ran to 2 sub amps and 1 Sundown 100.4. I was curious if i were to ever add a line driver and boost the signal up a little bit(amps accept up to 8v) if i could lower the gain in hopes to prevent the coils from heating up as quick? I tried emailing powerbass on how to get some XA 3000D amps, I need to run 2 12" MT for street b. I was wondering, where I can possibly buy one from?

So I just picked up a box and 2x10 Rockford Fosgate subs for my Ram. So the subs are 4 ohm 150watt RMS each with a peak of 300watt. Here's the problem. I listen to rock mainly so I don't care about a TON of bass, but I do like a good amount. The subs are bridged or whatever, and that's where I don't know what amp to get without spending a fortune. The two subs don't have two wires each I guess that's what bridged means? So my question is, what channel, RMS, ohm all that stuff, what would be the best amp for me? I'm so lost and the audio guy near my house is just trying to make money off of me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
