  3. Hello everyone. Had questions about how to tune my amplifier. I dont want to start slammin the BL and have it go out on me. Let me say first I have done my Big 3. Running 1gauge to rear battery. 4 gauge to amps. I have a good idea on how to set my amp gains. I read the HOW-TO here on the forum. What I need is how to tune this knobs on my JL AUDIO amp that I havent a clue what they are. First would be my infrasonic frequency(hz) knob. It goes from 15 to 60HZ. Also there is a on and off switch for that. Second, there is a Parametric EQ setting marked "Q". This setting can be tuned from 0.5-4.3. I belive its the bandwidth control. Anybody know for sure? What should I set my…

Sup everyone, had a few questions. So I just got the new Sundown SAX 100.4D. Its got some EQ buttons that I question because I dont know them. Under the High Pass Filter there is a button is either 12db or if pressed 24db. Also beside that one is a x1 or x10? The last is a knob that ranges from 50Hz -500Hz. Can anyone tell me the advantage of any of them? I played with those settings a little last night when I installed the amp.. I just need someone to give me a good starting point and a better understanding on how to set them. Examples would be greatly appreciated. Again I'm not a complete noob but I do need better understanding on many things. I have my amp set to the …

I want to put a 17 or 19" dell monitor and adapt it to play my music videos out of the trunk at the same time my pioneer 700bt is playing. It can be done I was told by custom sounds, but you need to have an video adapter. any other suggestions? I am trying to do this the cheapest way. OR I can buy a 20" tv and just plug it right into my (yellow) rca video cable and run with it. But I was wondering if there was another CHEAP way around 200$ or less. And yes the bang will problably shatter the screen but I might put it in my back window, don't know quite yet. thanks fellas

  6. i was hoping M5 (or someone else) might know of a place locally that does a mix of electrical work. i had a customer drop off a large LED sign board that runs off 220V mains with seriesed 110V inverters into about 88 separate micro controller boards that run off 24/12/5.6V and control small segments of RGB led's. the panel blows breakers upon power up. its beyond the scope of work that we do at my shop and wanted to give the customer and idea of maybe where to go.

So i'm currently running a 12" Icon and while it's an awesome sub, Im wanting to go bigger already. I just want to push a lot more air. I'm pretty set on an 18" Fi BL or maybe 2 18" Q's. I'm wanting to feed it more power though also so Im thinking of either buying another 1000D and strapping them together, or selling my 1000D and picking up a 3000D. Would that be overkill? Ive got an Eddie Bauer Explorer(v8) and already have the Big 3 upgrade. I'll be picking up an Iraggi alt. and a Yellow Top as well. Would I need to run two batteries with this setup?

  9. I just purchased two Boston Acoustic G512-44 12"s for $400 shipped in a closeout sale from Crutchfield. I'm a link! Their specs are... RMS Power Range: 100-450w (225w per voice coil) Peak Power Range: 900w Impedance: 4 ohms Sensitivity: 94.3 dB at 2.83 volts, 87.2 dB at 1 volt Frequency Response: 20 - 350 Hz Min. sealed box volume: 1.00 cu. ft. Min. ported box volume: 2.00 cu. ft. Mounting depth: 7-3/8" I picked these up because they're CHEAP & require a small enclosure; (I want to keep max trunk space.) I've heard clips of them & they sound crisp & hit de…

havent been here for a while, just been caught up in school and what not. Need some questions answered. I want to put a yellowtop in the back about a foot or two away from the amp. KX1200.1. How would you go about doing that, I'm thinking a battery isolator to keep from draining either battery when it's turned off. What gauge would I run to the second aux battery? Where would I run it from? The isolator? The alternator? I want it to charge along with my starter battery so it doesnt stay drained if I listen to it for long enough. Do I ground the second battery to the floor or back to the original battery? I really need some help so tell me everything you know about …

  16. I would like to know if I should wire the subs using just one pair of outputs from amp or to use both pairs? I know how to wire from one pair (http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=12#results) ,but I'm unsure how to split the speaker wire (10gauge monster brand speaker wire) according to the diagram. I need a total 1ohm load. Any help is much appreciated. I have: 2007 Toyota Camry LE (all stock electrical w/o upgraded 8-speaker JBL) Two Fi Q 12" (dual 1 ohm) (cooling) (extra spider) in sealed box One AQ 2200D (mono amp) (has two pairs of terminals (4 total outputs))

I'm currently installing a rather large system in my car, and using an alpine ida-x001 as the main unit. Only problem is the unit does not have a CD player, and I really don't wanna deal with a seperate CD changer to hook up to it. i have another alpine deck with tilt, the CDA- 9851. Not sure if i would need some sort of switch-board for all the RCA-s or not. I would like to be able to use either deck and still have full usability of every part of the system. So having both decks would def. be ideal.

I'll be running 8-8"s and 4 tweets on a SAX 100.4D and I want to have some good processing at my finger tips which is why I don't want a trunk mounted EQ. my two options are: 1.) Keep my Factory Pioneer Scion TC deck (which has a L/R and rear sub outs just like an aftermarket deck) and add an AudioControl Three.2 to it or 2.) get a bad ass headunit that has multiple procesing features to it such as Alpines CDA-117 (or similar, if you know of a better option let me know as well) and just use it's features. Thanks! I'm really torn between the two and need some more experienced opinions on where to spend my money. yes I know it would be best to do both but its hard to drop a…

Hi there. I'm trying to figure out the safest, most cost-effective way to wire two amps, particularly, the remote-turn-on wires. I have seen a lot of stuff saying just wire both wires to the H-U remote turn on, while others say it can burn out the H-U. I'll be using 2 300w RMS amps if it makes any difference...

I have one SAZ 1500v.2 and I also have one Crunch GP3000d-Pro. I need to power 2 FI Q's and was gonna run the Crunch amp but appearance wise two matching SAZ1500's would look much better. The subs are Dual 1's so I would have to run the Sundowns at .5ohm to get a 1 ohm load but I would be easy with the gain knob and also will have the electrical to back them up. Anyone see a problem with this other than warranty issues. Curious what to do. I know both will do work but Im sorta torn. Im thinking the 2 Sundowns may sound cleaner but at .5 maybe not? My trucks interior is all black, lol

what are some of the ugliest amps u've ever seen??were they ugly and dependable/underrated/efficient???or just plain ugly???my vote goes to this lil' gangsta!!!!!! Gangsta is here and it be bad-ass! The new Gangsta series from Crunch is aimed at the rap and hip-hop crowd and all those bad boyz who want to make a statement with their tunes: Hittin' hard and rollin' loud. Heat dissipation is one of the most important factors in amplifier design and Crunch
