Looking at going with a 16v setup so id like to pick up a 16v charger. Just wondering which everyone prefers and why. It's in between the turbo start 25A charger and the xs power 16v intelicharger or xs power 16v hf charger. Also what are the benifits of the two xs power chargers vs each other. I figure the hf is a cater charge but I don't know. Thanks. Btw I'm using the xs power batts

I ordered a 270 Amp alternator from Singer a little over a week ago, and he said it should be ready for shipment by the end of this week. I'm looking to upgrade my battery under the hood now, and in a few weeks throw another one in the back if needed. there's a ton of batteries to choose from...and from what I've read around on this forum you want a AGM/Deep Cycle batteries but if thats all your looking at there's a LOT of options. So my question is what specifications from batteries should you look at when related to car audio, right now I'm looking at a DieHard Platinum. What specs should I look at when comparing this battery to say, a Yellow Top Optima? Is t…

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so move it if needed. Does anyone know if the Termlab with RTA Option (which includes the Oscilloscope function) can use a probe or does it only use the Microphone for the RTA? In other words, can it be used to test the preamp outputs and the amplifier outputs for clipping instead of using a dedicated O-Scope. By the time I price out an O-Scope and RTA I'm pretty much at the price of a Termlab. Thanks, Bob.

  6. So say i set my gain at 50%, if i dont even plug in the remote knob, obviously the amp operates with 50% gain. But if i plug in the remote knob and set the knob to 100%, given the amp's gain setting is still at 50%, will i have identical output? or would i have to reset the amp's gain setting with my dmm? From what i understand, the amp's gain setting sets the maximum level of gain, and the remote adjusts the percentage of that gain setting you want to use. i.e. you have the amp gain set at 50%, and the knob at 50%, so you'd be using the equivalent of setting the amp's gain at 25% with no boost knob correct?

I bought a Pioneer P4100DVD and I can play movies just fine and everything but I wanna take it to the next step and start burning DVDs with music videos. I can't for the life of me find any documentation on how to format the videos besides being in .avi format. I talked to Pioneer and they weren't any help. Anybody got one of these?

I've got Dodge Magnum R/T with 160A stock alternator and from what I hear from other LX vehicle owners, the car's computer controls the alternator output...so upgrading my alternator isn't an option. So with my stock alternator what do you think is the most wattage I can run on my stock electrical? I know that an extra battery (or three) may be necessary along with Big three. Also, since my battery is in the rear, not under the hood, how does that effect things?

sometime in the future i will be putting one hell of a ocmputer in my truck for MP3 sotrage only. there are 2 ins. Min and Line Level (same voltages as RCA) in. From what ive been hearing sometimes the impeadance of the line in is too low for most RCA ins. this causes a lot of distortion with the singal. However for my RCA's for hte moment i will probably end up getting one of thoes peaker level to line level converters untill Xmas when i can get a good 2din HU...lol i am so cheap. so my question is, because my head unit i used to seeing a 4ohm impeadance and the line level in is of s much higher impeadance will i have to worry about any distortion at all? im setting my…

I have a rockford punch 501s bridged to a polkmomo 15 at 2 ohm and it gets too hot and shuts off after about 30-45 min. Bass boost is all the way down and gain is @ 3/4. Gain knobs r messed up though because any less then that the sub is unnoticable. I always ran it at 4 ohm before and never got hot or had any problems. Now it just gets smokin hot. At least 7 years old or so. I guess I should just keep it as a 2 channel then huh?

Hmm, how do you figure out what fuses to run for inline power and distributor block? Right now they are matched with the amps, but they should be matched with the wire, right? Here's what I have now: Soundstream TRX1500D (120A) Soundstream TRX2.550 (60A) Inline Fuse = 250A Distribution block = 60A & 120A Power wiring is all 1/0 except after distribution block (2x4AWG) Question is for next year, I'm doing some upgrades: Soundstream RUB1.2500D (250A) Sounstream RUB2.600 (60A) Wiring will remain the same except I'll be running 1/0AWG from the block to the 1.2500D What fuses should I choose? Do I need to upgrade anything else? Alternator is 200A. Lemme know if you see som…

I know how to set the gains with a DMM by reading the sticky post by im confused on 2 things 1)when setting a 4 channel amp with 2 gains(1 for each 2 channels)how do you get each gain?my amp puts out 75w x 4(@ 4ohm) 2)When it said if ur amp puts out more watts than ur subs can handle use the watts of the subs instead.so lets just say a amp is 1500w @ 2ohm and the subs is 600w each so do i add the watts of the subs and find the square root of them then measure the volts?(For example 600w x 2ohm =1200-squarerooted = 34.6v)

  25. I've been searching for a while but can't find what I'm really looking for. I'm looking for a headunit with about the same capabilities as the H701. Currently I have Peerless 8s in my doors (going to seal my doors soon), seas tweeters and 4 inch speakers in sealed kickpanels, and four Sundown audio 8inch subs on the rear deck with a sealed box under them. I planned on 3 way active front stage and the subs (so would that be 4 way? haha..idk). I bought the H701 and controller from a guy on here last year but I'm not done with the install yet so I havent started using the H701. I need a new headunit because my old alpine is dying slowly. I've been searching around f…
