  2. So as you all know I have been getting very mixed information trying to figure out what to do with my subs, my box and all that junk. Well I finally got a response from Bob at American Bass, turns out I am having such trouble finding info cause my speakers are 12 years old, although he says they are very good speakers, so I am still determined to use them with my setup. He informs me that I should run 300 rms to each sub, but once again my trouble is finding the info I need since these are dual 6-ohm speakers. I have been looking at tons of amps, monos, 2-ch, 4-ch bridged, you name it, I just can't make sense of it with the speakers I have, with my options being 3 ohm eac…

Well, I got this HU brand new last year. I love it (but im gonna be gettin a DEH-P860MP when I can afford it), but for now this thing will work. However, when I turn it off, then turn it back on, it takes 13 seconds to load the CD and resume play, on an MP3 CD. I know that may not sound like a long time, but it really is. Anywayz, when I stick in a regular CD, the resume time is 3 seconds or a little less. It used to load my MP3 CD's just as fast as it does regular CD's. It started doin this for some reason for a while, then I hit it or sumthin, and it started workin fine again. But now, since I loaded a regular CD in, it started loadin my MP3 CD slowly again. I cant get …

So I finally got around to openning up the Lightning Audio S1.1000D I had running a couple of AA Assissins and two (that I noticed) of the transisters labeled IRF6215 have gone to amp heaven... I don't see any other problems, is it worth trying to replace the fried parts or will I run into more problems as I progress?

I have read all over and i cannot find anything on how to tune a vocal amp. I'm buying a Sundown 125.2 from a friend of mine and hooking it up to my stock door speakers. i eventually will upgrade but for now i think my stock speakers will sound cleaner then off my h/u. and another question what ohm are stock speakers usually? or do i need to find that in my manual?

As most of you know, i picked up pioneer 9300 from ebay for a nice cheap price. However, it is DOA..im out $80 Anywhoo... I put the faceplate on my friends 9300, the one that had the face stolen. This was its replacement. The H/U powers up fine, display works, no imfamous line in it. However, i cant use any of the buttons. Nor the remote. Ive reset it, cleaned the points with some glass cleaner, didnt have rubbing alcohol. Still nothing. Does anyone have any idea why it doesnt work ? The older unit worked flawessly, so i know its not the H/U

  14. Currently i only have a need for an alternator in the low 200's (i'm looking at one at 220) for an 18" Fi BTL. My question is as follows; Is there any harm in buying an alternator that produces more amps then you need?? For example, i will probably put in another BTL in the future and i would like to just buy one 350 alternator now. So if i put a 350 or 320 alternator in my car, which only needs about 220 amps, would it cause any harm to my vehicle? Would it cause harm to my battery? Amplifier? On a side note, any of you fellas try out the Kinetic HC 3800??? Thanks!

when running 2 dual 4 ohm woofers to a 1 ohm load, do you have to connect the wires that go to the amp both to the same woofer? or can you put the positive on one speaker and the negative on the other?

i was reading the tutorial and i see where i did a few things wrong, mainly setting the gain where i usually listen to my music n stuff. what i wanna ask is as far as using the test tone to set it i NEVER play cd's in my radio i always use my mp3 player via aux port. it plays WAY louder then my cd's do so should i set it that way or only do it by cd? next as far as setting up the bass boost before setting the gain i see it says use the center of 45hz( thats the center on my amp) do i use a 45 hz test tone too or still use the 50? also WTF do i set "Q" at?

Is there a way to find out how much room is left in the alternator output after running the vehicle? I am just wondering if this would be a way to see or prevent power drops and messing up the car/truck electronics.

What reasonably priced options are there for something that will run all day at .67 ohms? Been thinking about a couple of SAZ1500's.... and yes, a 200+amp alt and second battery are planned.

  24. Have a few questions bout charging batts on an actual battery charger. I have a D3100 and a D5100 in the car. Let's say i purchase a Schumacher AGM charger. Since the rear batts have always been connected in parallel their whole time, is it ok if i charge them paralleled together? I don't really see how 1 batt could charge better than the other but i dont know for sure. Second, since i have a solenoid which isolates my rear batts from the rest of the car, is it ok if i charge the rear batts with everything still connected including all the ground cables ran to my chassis? I know not to charge while car running, that's obvious, just check the two things above.
